You're 18 so I'm assuming you've been riding for 2 or less years on the street...I'm not one to generally judge anyone for anything they do, it's their life and they can live it how they want. But to hop on a liter bike when you most definitely are not ready for it can be a fatal mistake on these things man especially when i see a brand new bike in the break in period going 150. Don't fall into the trap of all of these influencers thinking they have to do 180 on the highway for content especially with the lack of time and experience that you have. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, you clearly earned it since you paid in cash and that's dope. But please please please respect the power of that bike, they are no joke and they will punish any mistake you make. Been riding sport bikes exclusively for close to 10 years now and I've seen a lot of friends die due to lack of experience and over confidence. Take some advanced riding courses and do some track days. Stay safe bro.
Hey, nice choice, but just in case u didnt know, u should not be suprised when problems starts to appear because doing 150 on a brand new bike on a first ride is a bike killer, u should drive it a lot slower first period
This is why insurance on R1's are so expensive. Give it a few months riding like that. All ego, no skill. Good way to show newer riders what not to do!
I went from a ninja 650 to a r1. Basically the same thing. I should have just started with the R1! I can ride but I was trying to be safe bc my first crotch rocket blah blah.. But hey at least we got comfortable first, which is smart. You ride good. Remember everyone is trying to kill you! Always tell yourself that & NO they don't see you. Just the way it is. Be safe bro. Awesome bike!👍
Bro going to be another man wrist doesn’t even do a break in period or even knows what it means he doesn’t deserve to treat that bike like that on the first day of getting a brand new bike he might be 18 but he won’t be able have quicker reaction time need to learn to respect the bike and it will respect you I learn that the hard way
Bro you doing everything perfect.💪🏾 I have a 23 R1, my break in period was brutal these bikes can take it!. 🤘🏾Old guys always have scary stories to tell..We only live once, do what you love! Godspeed🫡
I was just at that dealership in the east bay! Bro how tall are you? I know the R1 could be pretty aggressive if you’re not 5’8 and up, let us know how it rides!
You were supposed to keep it under 7,000 rpm or th first 600 miles, then get the oil changed and the keep it under 11,000rpm for the next 400 miles before you rip it.
