This was just what I needed this morning - a peaceful ride on a sleeper train and some gorgeous views! Your minimalist videos are wonderful, it's like closing my eyes after one of my own train journeys and going back through the highlights of the journey's memories.
As always, this was a fantastic, relaxing video. The view from the Great Seto Bridge is stunning. Thanks again for a wonderful video. P.S. - That ramen vending machine - need it! :)
The suicide rate is higher.... No country is Developed in our world... Every country is a rich men den of people....people are all going in the wrong direction of life
ok, i have to ask, just stating the obvious...has anyone tried to bring on a sleeping bag on one of these seats? seems to me it would be much more comfortable.
Thats the prettiest train ive ever seen, I dont think even the most expensive trains in germany are that clean and beautiful. It reminds me of old trains, that still had cabins.
I loved watching this, it was really interesting. You deserve a medal for eating that egg, it was practically raw, brave lad and thanks for sharing your journey.
It’s normal to eat raw eggs in Japan. You can even purchase them from vending machines. It’s typical breakfast to crack raw egg over steamed rice and a drop of soy sauce
I would love to visit Japan. The busy districts but also the country side. I would like to visit Kyoto - for the wonderful pure water founts I have once heard about. The best tofu is made there. Hiroshima and Nagazaki is a terrible must-see reality as well but the simple country villages... NATURE... I would want that. Unfortunately I see I cannot because I would be lost in such place. It's only possible to do this with someone that knows Japan. And I don't know anyone who does.
You might be able to do something like that by booking a tour. Not sure how things are now, especially with travel still being restricted in many places, but in the past I've looked into tours and they usually have a nice mix of popular attractions and some that are off the beaten path. You lose spontaneity since the itineraries are set in advance (though there is usually free time to explore built in) but the advantage is that they handle transportation bookings and have local guides at the various destinations. Just something you might consider if that style of travel would work for you.
Japan is easy to get around, even with no knowledge of the language. I had always felt intimidated about going there, but was pleasantly surprised. Railways are signposted in English as well as Japanese. In Tokyo, signs are often in Chinese and Korean too. One of the side effects of preparation for the Olympics was the increase in English language signage. Virtually everyone 40 or under knows some English, but are often not comfortable, due to worrying about making a mistake. Just try single words. Hiroshima is a lovely city with many riverside views. The bomb site is easily found, emotionally challenging. I"d suggest going to Miyajima shrine after seeing the Atomic bomb museum. Taking trains everywhere is probably best. It's easy to get off at a smaller station, have a look around, then get back onto the main transport routes.
(edit to say, this is meant to be encouraging sort of aggressive, not putting you down so much) Weak thinking my dude, just talking yourself out of it. Not sure why you are getting thumbs up, it's just defeatist nonsense, and incorrect to boot. Japan is very simple to get around in. Plus even if you struggle at a certain time to, it literally does not matter, what effect has it really had? (hell a missed connection, a missed itinerary item etc, have turned into some of my best experiences). Also, literally just google it. Even in the country this will net the information you need without too much hassle. Heck this isn't even mentioning the fact that the people are pretty friendly so they can help, google translate is a great ally there. This is all speaking from experience.
@@etan1591 Get that, know that. But experiencing it with someone who knows it can also be interesting. All my travels have pretty much by myself. For such a place probably would like company :) ty
it's so Japanese, without unnecessary words and fuss, and deeply meaningful, interesting! I have never been to Japan, but I love Japan and the Japanese very much. I must have been Japanese in a past life
I don't even have any doubts that after such uncomfortable sleep, all of the elderly traveler's bones would have to be restored to some sort of condition by a physiotherapist. 😢😂😂 In this range, other shoes and socks would probably work like ether😮😂😂😂😂😂 Thanks for your great dedication.❤
I love coming back to this video. I this sleeper train. sleeping without getting claustrophobia because of a small coffin like room. Instead a long shelf were you can have some privacy at the head and just snore away.
It's a nice area, you can stretch out, not have someone sitting next to you breathing in your eat. Their vending options look better than the cafe cars on most trains in the US.
I took the same train to Okayama, where the trains split. That was my first long distance train experience and it was delayed by 45 minutes :D I liked the nobi nobi "seats" as they somehow had floor heating, but it was uncomfortable af. I slept for maybe 2, 3 hours. Would still do it again.
A fan of frugal travel, I like that overnight train, especially the ability to lie down. I cannot sleep well sitting up. Alas, so many of the good ideas in Japan never make it to the U.S.
THANK YOU FOR THE INTERESTING VIDEO...SAFE TRAVELS I'm American and I ride AMTRAK here in US often ,prices change a bit with the day especially go up if its a holiday but typically around the same price as your budget train ..which is really nice ,ours are not sleek on inside . We just mostly have seats that barely recline.and only very few bed-rooms . Even if I do a 24 trip it most likely would be sitting for bed rooms won't be available and if they are its considerably more costly 5 times the cost of a seat you cannot get comfortable even as a small person with no one sitting in the seat next to you. They have business class which is supposed to be a bit more roomy but depending on your train.some are almost exact same
That egg at about 10:00 and on: "Oh, I hope it's hard boiled!" "Oh, gawd, it's raw! I hate raw egg white." "Wait, it's soft boiled. It's PERFECT! Why can nobody in America cook an egg like that?"
Excellently done. Would have liked to know what the breakfast box contained with the soft egg and ?. Looked delicious, even in the morning. Nice clean train, in my opinion. Thanks.
