This is the full length episode of Riding out a 78 knots squall while anchored in Green Turtle Cay. April 11th, 2021 was intense and many sailboats were dragging including us. We later found out that this was a Force 0 Tornado. It was scary seeing boats floating by us and motoring into the wind to stay put. Our anchor has saved us in so many situations and we absolutely loved it but this time the wind was simply too high and the holding was terrible.
If you like what you see don't forget to give us the thumbs up!

Good idea to run your engine in gear and man the wheel when it got bad 👍

You're absolutely right Mark. It does make you feel vulnerable. We were happy to have the engine this season, just in case. Super happy that you like our videos. Thanks. What was your scariest storm?

My friend told me before that green turtle, especially black sound has bad holding ground. Glad you made it unscathed. Looking wild, and that is in a protected piece of water.

Yes it is really quite bad on the bottom. We were warned about bad holding but trusted our anchor You know how it is, everyone has an opinion and sometimes what works for one doesn't for another but we put too much trust in our anchor and not enough in local intel that day. We got lucky.

I guess it can't always be beautiful weather but I would do without too many of those.

Ya that's no fun. Dealing with this in my protected marina is nerve wracking enough. I think I would need a beer myself. Have fun guys

A beer is always called for after stressful experiences like docking or just hanging out at anchor apparently. lol

Hi guys. Ok...thank you so much for keeping the camera rolling. We were there with you guys. Everything except the water in the face. You have to be happy to add that experience to your sailing resume. Really great job and happy you survived. Trev from Campbell River BC

Glad we could take you along Trevor. You would have needed goggle for that water in the face. And every scary moment makes us stronger and more prepared.

Wow!! Very intense. I've slowly been going through your videos starting from the very beginning, but had to jump forward and watch this once I saw it in my YT news feed. Let us know if you're ever in Annapolis, MD again soon! We'd love to meet up.

I am seriously not looking forward to that type of weather. I know I will see some, hope I handle it with your success! Did the 2 boat that drug anchor survive ok?
@WildlyIntrepid

It is never fun but also not very common weather. Its seem 1 good storm a year so far. But I'm sure you will make out fine. the 2 boats did fine as well. no real damage.
