My favorite episode to date, amazing footage and i'd never seen how they start a new cut, always thought they backed the wagon up behind like silage guys sometimes do. But c'mon guys, need to wash n wax the machines as we all know you get better yields with cleaner machines, lol. Awesome vid!!
Technology has come quite a ways since I worked at Morgan Farms 30 + years ago..... We had a double row cutter that Tiny Morgan ran.... Mike Luquette ran the newly designed transloader that Mr. Morgan designed himself.... One heck of a machine..... I think my cousin Mike Luquette is running the farm nowadays....... Great video, brings back memories.....
Nice! like to see more of these red machines, we don't have sugarcane here in The Netherlands also not in Europe but i have seen those Austoft harvesters in South Africa and Australia on my Vacations
Great video. Nice shot of them busting in new patch. My 2 year old loves watching your videos, and so do I. Luckily we pass in front of the mill at St. John on a regular basis so he gets to see everything first hand. Have you ever tried shooting any of the farmers who have switched to 8 foot rows? I know the Blanchards in St. Martinville have made the switch and a couple of farmers around Grosse Tete and Plaquemine also. Also curious what drone/camera setup are you using.
Thanks , glad ya'll are enjoying the videos. I know I would have watched this all day at that age lol. No I have not filmed any eight foot rows yet but that's something I may look into next year. I bought a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom that I've been using this year. I love it, the picture quality is fantastic and it has a lot of great features. My old drone which I still use sometimes is a DJI Phantom 3 Pro. I'm starting to use it less and less though as the picture quality just doesn't stack up to the new one..I'm also using a GoPro 7 Silver as well as my iPhone for some ground shooting. Next year I may try to add a proper 4K video camera for shooting from the ground. Thanks for watching !
Very nice! 👍👍 One of my favourite as well! Neat how they opened up a field, never seen that before! Do they spray the cane to get it all dried up like this?
I’m Australian and patriotic to the last breath and I’m a John Deere owner and advocate but I look at the other stuff on offer to be fair and well informed. In these displays of public opinion it really comes down to a verbal war of red or green and its brutal how people speak to one and other. It’s worse than politics. You’ll all hate me and I don’t give a rats arse. I’m my own man. Case haven’t invented a single thing; even the horse can be attributed to someone else and the steam engine. So then you get the high horse power articulated tractors ( STEIGER BROTHERS ) and the axial flow combine (INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER) and cane harvesters?? TOFT from Bunderberg Queensland Australia. All of the innovation in hay and harvest is New Holland. And recently added HORWARD BAGSHAW the best by far laser grading bucket again from Australia and a little unknown tin pot show called K Line that builds a half decent multi disc again from Australia. So when yawl bagging the shit out of John Deere remember three things. JD is green and yellow; not red. JD may hang back a bit and prolly wait till patents run down etc but they have a quality product ; AND if you were ever gonna build an absolutely stupid shithouse dog of a machine cotton picker with the worst designed module builder in the entire universe AND actually put you name on it : you can bet it’s a case. Did I hear someone say they don’t make them any more. Crickets. Have a great evening.
Well I'm not a farmer (though I do own a small John Deere tractor for lawn work) , I'm mainly just a lover of ag equipment. I welcome all opinions here as long as everything stays civil.. Thanks for watching!
