Yamaha returns its middleweight adventure bike, the Ténéré 700 ($10,799), to its US model lineup for 2024 with some minor but welcome tweaks. And after spending a day in the saddle it’s clear that the Tuning Fork company has a well-rounded ADV that offers equal parts on and off-road performance.

It's a bit like those US ads for upcoming shows. All new Greys Anatomy on XX channel. As if only half of it or a quarter of it would be new. Like WTF. In the case of the bike though, not much of it is new. It is more of a repeat/re-run with a prologue and some outtakes at the end.

It is MUCH easier to repair a tubeless tire on the trail than a tube tire. I can plug and inflate a tubeless tire before you can get the wheel off the bike to begin a tube replacement.

Engine Vibration? My ‘24 T7 is as smooth running as any of the dozens of bikes I have owned in the last 47 years. Same with my former MT07 snd R7 with the same engine. Sure it was the engine and not a tire/wheel balance issue?

I have ridden, rented, or owned most bikes in the class. The T7 is the smoothest bike in this class in my experience.

it has a cable-operated throttle. Can't have cruise control with that kind of setup.

I almost bought one after watching the superbiker German gal cross the U.S. on her Tenere 700 - “GotToGo”. She has been all over the world on it, but I watched the Los Angeles-to-Key West series.

Im 5'7 with 30 inch inseam. Its not bad at all. Def something youll get used to fairly quickly especially with the one foot down method.

I still haven't seen a Tenere 700 at a dealership. I'm beginning to wonder whether or not these bikes actually exist. Bigfoot is real. The Tenere 700? I'm not so certain.

I really wanted to like the Tenere. But it is very bland compared to the KTM 890.Adventure R.

I used to have an 1190 adventure and regularly rode with a bloke that had a super tenere. Learnt very quickly that excitement isnt as important as reliability.

Having owned both, I like the T7 better. This is based though primarily on fact that the KTM lacked quality control and therefore struck me as a POS, rather than outright performance when it was working properly.

@@leanit5756having owned several KTM’s the past 25 years, I never had an issue. Had a 990 Adventure R that had 60K. Never an issue. Have several friends who have 890 R. Only 1 of them had issues with the bike.
