We made a return visit to this amazing railway to ride the now finished ground level track.
Work still continues on the main station building, this will be a nice addition to the railway when completed.
We even found one of our sponsored sleepers, thanks to the help from one of the younger members. Thanks guys.
Just a shame they never had more visiting loco's, a great track like this and it was empty. Why we didn't bring one is a long story, so will skip that.
Thanks to the guys at the track for showing us around.

Wow what a marvellous layout they’ve got folks! I don’t know where this railway is located so I’m going to look it up on-line! Obviously very much worth visiting! I was impressed to see that you’ve got a sleeper donation on the track…and as you’ve already got part of Southampton named in your honour (Woolston) your are now a really famous man and wife team. Many thanks for the ride round…very soothing indeed but obviously hard work to build and operate. Congratulations to the members of the railway. Now I’m off to find out where it’s located! Best wishes from Rob In Bournemouth.

Now my head is getting a lot bigger than normal lol! I did know about Woolston near Southampton. We know of a few more Woolston's dotted about the UK. Liverpool and Oswestry area's have one. I did visit the Southampton one and had a photo taken outside Woolston garage lol! We have two sleepers at this track but could only find the one. We did this many years ago when the track was in the planning stage Rob. The track is on the outskirts of Rugby. The guys that built it have done a great job, you can find videos of the old track, plus a drive around the part completed track on my channel, but you might have to go back a bit...Thanks for your nice comment Rob..Best wishes Chris and Rosie

Hi Chris & Rosie, yet another Great video. This is such a Great railway giving a long and smooth ride. It would appear that they have replaced the (bottom loop 'Token System') with light signals since I drove there. Sadly I do not think this railway gets the profile rating it deserves, and would encourage locomotive owners to take their loco along and support the open days which this Friendly society welcome us all to join in with. Many thanks for posting the video, and the 'Rainsbrooke Valley Railway' for hosting another event.

Hi, I have to agree, such a lovely well built railway and nobody running, crazy! They did have two more steam booked in for the Sunday. Perhaps it was the wrong weekend as it is Hemsby week, I know a lot go to that. I did book in with Scot but they never replied so could this be the reason nobody went? The token post is still there, perhaps they use it when more trains are running. I have drove on this railway a few times and love it, but this is a first to ride the completed layout, amazing. Best wishes Chris.

Thanks for sharing this Chris. It has certainly changed a lot since I ran my B1 there 20years ago! My loco was co owned by the late John Crawley and it was his 'local' track. ( He lived in Badby nr Daventry at the time) looks like its worth a visit but will err on the side of caution until I hear so positive comments re communications!! Best wishes to you both.

Hi Alan. Are you at Hemsby this week? Rugby... I was looking forward to a run around with the Scot, even hoping that they would have there Scot in steam (it's awaiting repairs) Fancy running an invitation weekend on the same weekend as Hemsby. They have got the 7 1/4 AGM coming sometime I was told, so you might get to it then. I even checked my sent box of my emails to make sure it had been sent, it had. Never mind we had a good mornings visit.

@wooltman It's such a shame that all that work seems wasted when they fail on the basics! They will need to be 'on the ball' if they run a 71/4 AGM!! We're hosting this years' following an urgent approach earlier this year! The booked society had decided to drop out and left them in the lurch!! There is a lot to do but it's concentrating the minds of the club! It just means we won't have our annual rally as that's usually one or two weeks before the AGM!

That was it Alan, one steam and two battery boxes. Two more steam were booked in on Sunday. For an Open weekend a very poor turn out. Cheers Chris

Nothing said about the Princess, front bogie was off so could be under repair. I have seen photo's of it running. The unrebuilt Scot was in the workshop for repairs to it's bearings (Girls Brigade). The raised track is also a VERY long run, sadly nobody with a riding truck or I would have filmed that as well, another day. Very poor turn out considering it was an Open weekend with camping available. Why have an invite weekend when it clashes with the Hemsby week. They did say two more steam were expected on the Sunday...We had booked but never heard a thing back so just went for a look. Very poor. Best wishes Chris
