We rode our Specialized Turbo Levo mountain bikes on the 24km Paeroa to Waihi Section of the Hauraki Rail Trail through the historic Karangahake Gorge in New Zealand.
This is an easy and accessible ride with two great New Zealand towns at each end that are both worth exploring too.

Hi Ben...I like the details of this video on you blog, thanks for sharing the details. I would like to take ride on this trail with kids (1.5 to 2yrs) with kids seats and trailer. Can you suggest if this is doable based your experience.

Yeah I'd say its doable on certain sections. Would be down to your confidence with kids on the bike. Also I'd aim to stay away from the road sections, and maybe the bridges could be a little narrow for a trailer. Would be good fun on the train for the kiddies thouhgh!
