On Sunday, March 13th, me and a friend rode the "Z train" from Jamaica to Farmingdale. It took a total of around 2 and a half hours from our starting point to Farmingdale. Much longer than a normal KO train would take.
The "Z" train is named after the route they take. Going from Jamaica to Babylon, then Babylon to BETH, and BETH to Ronkonkoma forms a Z.
The "Z" trains run on weekends when there's track/signal work on the mainline (Floral Park-Hicksville). To maintain service from Penn-Ronkonkoma, they use Bi-level diesel equipment as Babylon-BETH isn't electrified.
This is the first time I've made this type of video, I hope you enjoy it!
