So thankful to all the nice people I've met on the trail so far, I can't wait to head out further west and see Colorado through backroads.
Configuring myself with a new filming set up so I should be able to have some better riding footage on the next video but we'll see!

Its such a relief to see a regular guy attacking these trails and obstacles while riding them. Not some super well off BMW rider who has every resource at hand, at any given time. I also appreciate your life introspection and dialogue. Keep it up! Subscribed.

Thank you! While I don't have every resource at my disposal I have been super blessed with a ton of help from strangers in the form of a bed to sleep in here and there through bunkabiker or tow when I broke down on the trail. It's amazing how helpful the motorcycle community is and I probably wouldn't have been able to get this far without them.

Come on now….not everyone on a BMW is rich, with unlimited resources. That’s the Ducati guys you’re thinkin of!

Thank you for not describing your bike in excruciating detail. The trip is the point. Looks….realistic! As an older guy, all I can say is that you will not regret taking such a trip. Be safe!

Any time your bike goes into water like that, there's a possibility that some got sucked into the air filter/intake tube/cylinder. It's always best to take off the airbox cover, make sure the air filter and intake tube is dry. Take the filter out, let it dry, wipe out any water in the air box and make sure there isn't any water in the intake tube. Take the spark plug out and crank the engine a few seconds to blow out any water and let everything dry for an hour, put the air filter in the sun. If you have a cleaning kit, give the air filter a wash and reoil, put the spark plug back in and you should be ok.

You the man!! Are you using Sam's, Kevin's or something else for your route.....and are you using the route or tracks option on the Montana? Tracks seem to work better for me, but some use routes, so I'm curious what you're using and how it's working out so far? It would be helpful to put a link to the next video at the end of each video, and you can do that in Studio using the "End Screen" option. More work, but it sure makes it easier for the rest of us living vicariously through your adventures!! Safe travels!!

I'm using Sam's route and I believe the tracks option on the Montana but yeah it was a bit tricky to get set up with that and once I got it on it was super easy to use although I would of liked for it to tell me how much miles left to the next turn etc. And thanks I'll do the end cards.

Your spark plug boot is likely not sealing correctly around the spark plug and/or the rubber is worn out and cracked, and that's why you're having issues with water crossings. I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago on the SoCal BDR -- including the fact that once it started, revving it would kill it. Took about 45 minutes to dry out completely for me. Replaced the boot a couple days later and zero issues since.

I think it was the airbox that was filled with mud water, when I opened it up later that day about 2 and a half cups worth of mud water poured out lol, ive since done some way deeper river crossing and been totally fine. I’ll definitely check the boots on the spark plugs next time I’m doing maintenance tho

My son sunk his jeep in a pond and hydro locked it. After getting it out of the pond, we pulled the spark plugs and turned it over. Shot water out of the spark plug holes like a garden hose! Let it air out for a few days, changed the oil, battery, and filters. Put in new spark plugs and it fired up after a few tries. If you get water in the oil make sure to change the oil as soon as possible. Water and oil might not mix but they can foam up in the engine and stop lubricating. Even better is to change the oil once and run the vehicle for a little while and then change the oil again.

Yep I changed the oil later that day and it was a brown foamy mess lol
