Steve climbs those steep tech sections like a mountain goat. This was a very informative edit Tess, and I think that your riding is great especially considering the ‘adjusted expectations’.

Awesome ride I think it’s so amazing that you and Steve’s new Lil one will have MTB experience at birth then tons of riders today. It will be interesting once his or her MTB career goes. Hopefully your channel will still be live when that journey begins!! 👼🤛🤛 Look forward to it !

Great advice as always:-) for demo days, look on facebook, trailforks, I found some events I have never heard of by searching on facebook, and by adding all bikeshops I could find, so far there are only few big events, but no way as big as sea otter or events like that, but the most continent method for me would be to get a bike delivered, even if I had to pay for it, but there is limited options for that, only one shop that does that, I feeling bad a lot so for me spesific date only one day or two day event is nto good enough for me, cus I can travel to an even and then feel horrible, and only in Germany. I wish there was more demo days more often and in more areas, with more brands, so far the most interesting bikes are not possible to demo unless I travel outside Norway, I will just try a bike, and see if I like it, and if not sell it. but in my area there was only one demo of santa cruz but was still a long way from home, but usually i feel bad when there is a event, but I would have had to take a taxi, or it's but for me demos are tricky cus the bikes I want to demo are never on demo events, and the there are only few brands to choose from & few events. what most do its to buy and swap change up sell until they got what they like, but that's a time consuming process. I don't want to wait until I feel good, and go to an even, a lot of the time I feel too bad when the events are going on, and most of them require travel and a lot of planning which I just don't want to deal with, a lot of stress and then I can get there and not be able to ride anyway, but I don't have a chiropractor with my at all times so it's tricky, some times I am off the bike almost a week. so I ride when I can as much as I can, so the best would be to travel to an even when I am good, but then it could not be too far away, but most of them are. but so far Nicolai looks most interesting to me, but also Pole, but I will research some more. and yeas I am retired, this also gives me more time to ride, but for those that don't have the problems I do, demo a bike is a lot easier, plenty of choice of demos then, but not alto of brands yet, but mostly big brand names.

Fun looking area! Very different compared to western Oregon, when it was all green. Looks like the mountains in southern Utah that I was on near Bryce Canyon. Would be fun to backpack that area. When your going down the trails fast and you do hit a drop or rock, does it hurt at all now?

Howdy Tess! Howdy Steve! Good to catch up with you guys. I've moved out to Florida from Arizona, so I don't know if there's much of a chance of me getting out to this part of the country anytime soon. I sure do miss this kind of country. When you said it reminded you a bit of Flagstaff (2:49) I had just been thinking that the scenery reminded me a lot of northern AZ. I think it's awesome that you're still riding while pregnant. I think that adds another layer of uniqueness to your channel. I am curious what your plans are for the channel when your baby is born? I hope it's okay to ask. I suspect you'll have a period of being off the bike. Will Steve record during that time? Of course, none of this is any of my business. But I am curious. I hope you forgive me for asking. Stay upright and keep the rubber side down. -Brian

Bend is 99% flowing XC trails. No need for slacker long travel bikes. Check out Bendtrails.org for more info. FWIW Bend is considered “Central Oregon”.

Speaking of demos, I'd love to test that Rollik 607. I'll have to look into it, but I'm pretty sure Spot doesn't do demo events over here in New York.. bummer. I guess the only option is for you guys to head over this way and let me ride yours.

2 things: Tess, What is the thumb lever next to your grip on the L side of your bars? Looks like an old school dropper lever, but you have a trigger lever underneath. I thought mayyybe a remote climb/decend switch for the suspension? But, I can't see a cable running from it. I couldn't even focus on the trail once I noticed it. My brain wouldn't let it go.. Steve: Dude.. Santa Cruz was doing a demo and you didn't throw a leg over a new Bronson??? Haha, it's ok. I just got mine this week!!! :) Only 1 ride, due to monsoon season in Flagstaff. Raining every day, but so far I'm loving it! Climbs great, corners great, destroys rock gardens, but I haven't had a chance yet to get it in the air, or ride super steep stuff. Hoping the weather helps me out this weekend to hit some gnar! :)

At the time of this filming, SC hadnt even anmounced the new bronson. Plus there was a 2-3 hour line to try any bikes out by the time we got there. :( Congrats on the new bike, i really like santa cruz and their bikes. Im anxious to try the new Bronson one day. I hear its a bit less playful than the last one, but even more capable on the downs. I hope i get to try one sometime, but theyre really tough to find in stock right now.

Yeah, mine was supposed to be a month long wait, but I got it 3 weeks early because they ran out of aluminum wheels, so since they have carbon wheels in house, they back ordered some other poor guy's bike and sent this one to me. I don't have an old Bronson to compare it to, but I've heard setting the sag a little higher than 30% makes it much more playful. The climbing position is fantastic! Corners amazing, super quiet, destroys rock gardens, but I haven't had the chance to really get it in the air yet, or ride much flow, so I'm still undetermined about playfulness, but so far soooooo good! :)

Giant Trance Advanced 1. Crazy long chainstays (17.3), so this bike is going to feel more playful no matter what, to me.. ;)
