Great Video. I also apply the front brake with stand side down, makes it even more stable when they're getting on /off. Very good advice on the weight distribution

Hi, it would be really beneficial if you could make a video on the maximum payload of a motorcycle, what does it essentially mean and how it is affected when we add something like panniers... Also, in case if the payload is exceeded, how can it affect the motorcycle?

Another thing, make sure your pillion has their feet on the pegs and not the exhaust. I've had a couple of pillions melt their boots to the silencer! I've also had a pillion that simply couldn't get on the bike with me sat on it! My 2 choices where stop by a kerb or wall more than 6 inch high or let them get on/off via the rider's seat.....

Great Pillion Review. I have always ride with my girlfriend ,even when she was 18stone, I am only 8stone, seem to be behind all my mate when she is on the back.

Good to hear. My husband just bought GSA R1200. He is 5"2 and i am 5"4 and 10kg heavier. I am a little bit scared on riding a big bike with a smaller person. He used to ride a burgman 400 so it's causing me a little bit of anxiety. Anyway, will give him abt 2-3mths to adapt to the bike before i go as a pillion.

Thanks for the series very interesting to watch. I have 1 question for you, is there a seat weight load limit for rider/pillion & luggage ?
@bennettsbikesocial
@bennettsbikesocial 4 года назад
Yes - all bikes have a maximum load capacity, which will typically be stamped on the fame plate and is the total permissible weight of the bike and everything on it. John

Any recommendations on torque/power needed to get 100kph with a pillion ?

Hi Adam, I love your videos and I could use your expertise, I do ride a cb500x and I weigh 60kg and mine pillion 64/65kg. Do you think that I really need to adjust the suspension or I can leave the factory setup? I ride 50% alone and 50% with that pillion, so is kind of hard to adjust every time the suspension Thanks

With my partner as pillion on a cruiser style Vulcan 650, we cannot use the sidestand down instruction you give, it is almost impossible to get the side stand back up even with full preload on spring and also the same trying to put sidestand down when she is on it unless the camber of the road falls away to the left quite considerably. We are within the maximum recommended weight of rider, pillion and luggage for the motorcycle.

Something wrong with your suspension.

Never had a pillion get on while on the side stand - always with me upright. Is it not hard to bring the bike back to vertical once they are on? I can see the point if they are short, as my missus is only 5 ft 5", but she currently she stands on the LH pillion peg with one foot, while swinging her other leg over the seat. What about weight on the side stand? Not entirely convinced, but open to learn...

My ex, has a few strokes, and with both my bikes having full luggage, she had to get on first, then me, and the side stand can take the weight no problem. One of the bikes is 400KG wet weight so the stand is designed to take weight

Do not agree when you say that the Pillion can get out in any way or shape. They should alwas get out on tthe opposite side of the exhaust.
