Never saw him race due to age, but fair play to him for coming back after nearly losing his leg! Seems like a genuine gentleman cyclist. You do get some awesome opportunities on GCN!
Cool interview. Much more in depth than the 30 seconds we got with Wiggins.... Although maybe thats more related to the brevity of Wiggins' interview answers :)
+Darrell Stile Yeah, Was looking for that statement here. If not i was going to post it. Lance got shafted and this doper gets sunlight. I wonder if lance had not been such a dick if the results would have been different.
Fact: after he smashed his knee into the cobbles in that crash, he left a 100foot wide crater in the road. 20 spectators were killed immediately after being caught in the blast radius. The tremors were felt on the other side of the Earth.
Love GCN, you learn so much including different languages, in this case gangrene in Flemish means gangrene in English, and who'd have thought shit of a horse means horse shit 😂😂😂
This interview style is pretty cool and, I'd imagine, unique. I'm sure he pros and ex-pros find it a nice break from the norm, agreeing to tip along easy while chatting. But which ride-along interviewee pushed it the hardest? #Torqueback
hey GCN! I am very curious to see the route that Johan took Matt on...any chance you guys could share the ride gps profile or the route for the ride?! (I might try to replicate it in a couple of months!)
You should open new channel to podcast where nevly retired pro cyclist sit down (with beer) and talk top junior or young pro (coffey). That would be intresting.
+GlobalCyclingNetwork I notice that a lot of the non-English speaking cyclists aren't able to fully understand or answer questions in depth when you ask in English. Would you be willing to use subtitles but interview them in their native languages?
if i learn anything from this man- its to carry antiseptic wipes and a small amount of bandage in your saddlebag!! that crash and the aftermath sounds horrible :/ (also, foil blanket!)
james butler hahaha :) fair play, ill give you that :P but they are useful for all kinds of stuff, mainly the foil blanket and bandage but still, why not add antiseptic- and it all might save a life one day, if most cars have a first aid kit, why not bikes!
Guys like Johan Museeuw - meaning respectful and honourable - were the reason why I loved cycling. He's worth 500 times what narcissists like Armstrong will ever be worth. GCN, please don more interviews like this one please. One other thing, wasn't Matt a little concerned with all the trees surrounding him; there's only gravity between a tree becoming a log and a Matt style crash...
