Riedell "Juice" 120 Skates

Haven't seen many vids on Riedell skates so I've decided to post the ones I purchased that are made for dance skating or rhythm skating as it's called.
The plate (Powerdyne Reactor Pro) is custom at about $100 more than the one it comes with (Powerdyne Reactor Neo). Comes with dance plug or jam plug as it's called. The ONLY wheels & bearings I mess with are Rollerbones (101A or 103A 57mm wheels, & Super Reds bearings).
Any questions just ask..

Getting an exact size allows room for insoles too if necessary. Love it! Thanks for updated info!

thanks so much for sharing this vid! I'm new to skating and interested in the 120/uptowns. I'm female and wanted to know if the boot is based on men's size? I wear an 8 in ladies shoes/sneakers. what size would i need? Thanks for the help!
@mrpearson1230

Generally, men order exact size or ½in smaller. Generally, ladies order a full size under normal shoe size. I got my 2 daughters (13 & 14) Moxi skates, which are made by Riedell. Shoe size they're 7½ & 8.. in skates they wear 6½ & 7. I wear an 11 in casual shoes, 11½ in athletic shoes & 10½ in Riedell skates. And yes, all Riedell boots are based in mens sizing except Moxi. Made & designed entirely for women & young girls. Also, I hope this helps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kkalfNmpUtc.html

@mrpearson1230 One other question, wondering if you know what's the difference in terms of durability between the Powerdyne Nylon plate and Powerdyne Reactor Fuse Nylon plate? I plan mostly on outdoor skating. Thanks!
@mrpearson1230
@mrpearson1230 7 месяцев назад
You mean the Thrust & the Fuse. Both very light but Fuse costs more because of the better quality. @nuimage6336

Great video. would these be good for indoor wooden rink? I'm just getting back into skating and want smooth quick wheels especially for skating backwards. Any riedell suggestions? Thx
@mrpearson1230
@mrpearson1230 Год назад
Yes these are great for indoor skating. I only indoor skate and recommend getting a skate with your tennis shoe size or a ½ size smaller for an exact perfect fit. The wheels that come with those skates are good wheels but I HIGHLY recommend going on Amazon or local skate shop near you and getting Bones Reds bearings (about $30) and a 3 way roller skate tool. It's necessary for changing bearings and adjusting your trucks. See Dirty Debbie for instructions. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2YVyQux-QyU.html

Btw ALL Riedell skates are great from the $129 skates to the $1000 Riedell 3200's. They are the best skate makers when it comes to durability & longevity.

I got 2 pair. The Riedell 120's and the 172's. 172's are by far my favorite & most used!

@@mrpearson1230 Appreciate the help..will order 1/2 size down I figured I'd have to do that from what I've seen online.. would I get good roll by changing the bearings on the cheaper riedell $159 skates? I'm stuck between the 159-359 riedell 120 boot if I'm gonna have to change bearings on $359 I might just go to the $159
@mrpearson1230
@mrpearson1230 Год назад
@@AG-yv8yb yes. Get Riedell 101A wheels (team $50 or elite $100) and get Riedell Rollerbones Reds bearings ($35+tax). All from Amazon.

Why did you switch from the 172 to the 120 boot? I know the 120 is more for snapping and the 172 is JB, but I've see people do both styles in either boot.
@mrpearson1230
@mrpearson1230 Год назад
I wanted a high top & a low cut boot. Honestly now because they both feel very different I only use 172 indoors & 120 outdoors (rare, 90% of the time I'm skating indoors)

are the rollerbone 103's grippy ? or slick ?
@mrpearson1230
@mrpearson1230 Год назад
They're Urathane wheels so they aren't "slick" like sliding wheels (ie: clay wheels or wood wheels) but for spins on a rink floor they're perfect..very slick in that sense.

What is the difference between the Reactor Pro versus Neo? Is it worth the extra $100?
@mrpearson1230
@mrpearson1230 Год назад
Reactor Pro plate is lighter than Reactor Neo (main difference). Reactor Fuse plate is even lighter but it's nylon (plastic). Metal plates more durable and therefore last longer. I recommend Fuse for all beginners.
@TC-rx3hv
@TC-rx3hv Год назад
Why do you recommend the plastic plates for beginner? What do you classify as beginner?
@mrpearson1230
@mrpearson1230 Год назад
@T C I'd say if you can only skate forward then you classify as a beginner. A lighter plate with small wheels means a lighter boot overall which I believe would greatly benefit beginners.

@@mrpearson1230 I am in search of new skates. I’ve only rode house skates when I skate. Those are heavy, in my opinion. Are these skates lighter than house skates? I find house skates hard to move in. I’m more than comfortable skating forward but not so much backwards yet.
@mrpearson1230
@mrpearson1230 7 месяцев назад
@@TC-rx3hv I'd say start off with house skates & practice slow role with one leg balance forward & backwards, then get some Riedell skates.
