Riffer is in my priority wish list! I am looking for to try it in conjunction with Playbeat, I can't imagine what would come out of that combination! To me Audiomodern is the cream of the crop in smart and musical MIDI random generation, plus the greatest design, elegance and contemporary appeal GUI in its plugins. I won't sleep until I get Riffer.

One thing you want to make sure to do is to remove Riffer from your project after you've created the desired riffs. Not only Riffer, but also other generative plugins in general. Ableton Live has no sandbox, and you would need to remove the plugin after a crash from the system plugin folder if you want to be able to start Live again. Just had to do that after repeated crashes of a project that had Riffer, Filterstep and Gatelab. Riffer was doing fine on its own, but Gatelab and FS on top overstressed it. It seems also to be a good idea to stop the playback while rearanging the plugin chain or adding the plugins. Besides that, had some fun with Riffer due to a happy accident, and it was a great introductory dive into the exploration of the plugin.

The current iteration has a lot of promise but it's missing a few UX features that keep it from being really useable: - A visual indication of the valid notes in the current scale (just a green color next to each note name on the left in the grid would be sufficient, or just coloring the note names themselves a different color). - Mouse over popup tool tips to remember what things do. - The ability to mouse scroll inside of the note grid. - Having Shuffle visually represented in the grid by adjusting the note positions. - When you increase the number of notes to use for a generated pattern (number next to the note symbol above the grid), it should enable the corresponding notes on the grid (and disable them as you decrease). Right now they get added as grey notes but unless i'm missing something you have to go thru and manually enable each one. - The ability to cut and paste patterns between tabs. Seems like presets should let you do this, but instead they only save and reload a set of tabs. So presets on a per-tab basis solves might be a good way to solve this. That said being able to walk thru the root notes and have the notes update to the new key is an awesome feature and really adds to the useability of the exiting version (and bonus points for also doing this when you change scale)!

I'm demoing this right now, and I love it. So simple and easy to use yet powerful. Only thing is I'm big on polyrhythms, and I'm pretty sad there is no polyrhythm support. with 1/1 time signature combined with density set to 3 or 5, etc. you can achieve polyrhythmic creations, but Orb Producers Suite 3 has added polyrhythms so I might have to go with that, although I truly like the riffer interface much better.

I really like Riffer 3.0... I would like to see two options added; #1 show the notes in the pianoroll in the selected scale and #2 copy/paste riffs between the 4 slots... (oh and maybe more slots :)

Love it, or rather, want to love it. It's easy to use and great with multiple riffs running, but -- it doesn't actually send midi notes to be recorded (in protools)?? Yes I can use the drag midi button to plonk the notes on the track, but it can't simply write/record the midi notes? Esp frustrating with long randomised sequences. I don't want to drag each sequence/iteration over. Esp with multiple riffs. Or send the audio to a sep track to record (yes that works, but it's audio then) Pls advise if there's a better way/fix...

I use Riffer in Reaper and like it very much. I have just one issue - is there a way to force the sequence to be played always from the first note, no matter in which part of the measure (in Reaper project) the playback starts? Can it be done in Riffer itself or somwhere in Reaper? Now, when the playback starts from the middle of measure, the sequence starts also from the middle.

Using this with Audiobus and it’s a lot of fun. Any chance we’ll get to use this with GarageBand in the future? What daws in iOS work with Riffer? Anyone? Great work on the app.

There is not enough free mode. Draw cells of notes and play arpeggios on already existing midi chords. Without a choice of key. My chords know the key themselves. Such a convenient usability plugin. It's so obvious, but I didn't find such a function. This is usually called: As played

I bought Riffer yesterday, but this video could have prevented me from buying. The "musicality" here is so off-puttingly bad I do not understand how you could publish this video. Thankfully, if you choose the right parameters and settings Riffer can produce MUCH better melodies.

For some reason when i drag midi into my DAW (logic X) it sounds slightly different than in Riffer, where it sounds perfect. Anyone else having this issue????

I can get this midi from riffer into every other auv3 drum machine except AR 909 drum machine by audio kit but I seen it done what is different with this drum machine I can’t get riffer to work with ?

Hi guys I have just bought Riffer 3.0 for windows 10 using FL Studio, I'm getting constant freezing issues when opening riffer after initial launch and having to close back to desktop, hopefully I'm not alone and this will be fixed in an update, I have contacted support on Plugin Boutique where I purchased it, in the meantime do you have a guide to setting up the 4 midi channels in FL Studio? the PDF only shows you how to do this in Logic,Cubase and Live, any links or help would be very much appreciated!!

Ganz ehrlich...das ist absoluter Spielzeugkarm für Leute, die zu faul waren sich mit Harmonielehre und einem Instrument ernsthaft auseinander zu setzen, bzw. ein Instrument von der Pike auf richtig zu lernen!!!
