Hey brother, I’m glad you got the feels from my message the other day. As I said that day, you provide so much quality info-entertainment to so many people. Being so exposed as you are doing RU-vid content, it takes EXTREME BALLS to put yourself out there. Don’t stop until YOU decide it’s best for you. Keep it Brutal my Brother 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
As always Jarrod I/we appreciate what you do for the community. Keep up the great content! I look forward to your videos as do others. I work from home so this is my way to get away and escape from the daily grind. Your advice, experience and honesty is truly appreciated! Thank you my friend.
Thanks for everything you do. People are quick to complain and fuss but don’t often say how much they appreciate things. You have a top notch channel and provide awesome no bs content all the time. Keep it up brother.
Thanks for all you do, man! Keep up the good work. I know that I appreciate all the comparison videos and insights into the gear you feature on the show.
There are many great YT channels out there for sure. Besides the incredible content that you share and all of the advise you give to everyone, I think the one thing that puts you ahead of everyone is the fact that you will respond to questions, asked by your viewers and try and help that person in a one on one conversation. That in itself is something that is genuine and shows that you care and your experience is worth sharing, to try and help everyone grow in knowledge and have camaraderie with everyone. Your YT channel is amazing as is your help and your knowledge base. Have a Great one 🙂
played a Lynx a few times recently and a really good amp! But I like the EVH better for less money. Seems like EVH has more studio features like noise gate and better gain stages for metal. Lynx would be great for classic rock and early heavy metal styles.
Your content is so directly helpful to us guys in the market to buy , I had one of the 1st blockletter 5150s in early 90s and went through a drug addiction lost my equipment along with alot more and spent last 15 years rebuilding life and just didnt play for that time of recovery now im clean and playing again im rebuilding gear and got a ENGL FB 25 and use HELIX but your videos led to another 5150 stealth and it is so perfect for my taste , there are tons of great amps now but your videos really help dial in and help nail down the right choice , unless you have direct acceso to all these amps it's hard to be sure if your putting your hard earned money in the right place thanks for all the info and help
Thanks so much for commenting and for sharing your story here. I'm so happy for you regarding getting your life back on track and I hope you're living your best life now. I'm so glad my videos helped you make the best choice with your amplifier purchase. Congratulations on the stealth, that thing is a Beast!
Thank you for focusing on the positive stuff and not giving in to the trolls that want to drag you down. There is another influencer that has started sharing his negative feedback and reactions to them and it’s a real turn off. Influencers have an opportunity to help make the world a better place and I appreciate it when they do. I really dig your channel and what you share, keep up the great work! \m/
We’ve had awesome conversations in the past about certain Gear and tones… to date you’ve never lead me down the garden path to making bad purchases. In fact, you’ve been instrumental in some of the purchases that I’ve made. Keep doing what you’re doing brother… Cheers!
Man, recently I was removing most of my subs to leave only those that is beneficial to watch. I am fighting social media addiction and I have to say you are one of those youtubers that give me something to think off every video. Thank you for your content and please never give up. 🤘
The Tone X profiles are awesome! I understand not everyone can afford all that gear but for a fraction of the price you can get some really killer tones.
The more I watch your videos, the more I am really impressed with you and your channel. You really know what high gain amps sound like and how to dial them in. It's readily apparent that your passion is music and playing guitar. I love heavy metal, but I play a lot of different kinds of guitars, amps and styles. I have been playing guitar for 50 years, so heavy metal is not my main thing thee days :) But I seriously love guitar amps! There is something so visceral and alive with high gain tube amp that guitar players understand. I can tell you put a lot of time and passion into your videos and this channel.Besides being a killer guitar player, you are honest and want to help others find their dream amp. Most importantly, you are a nice guy! Best of luck with your channel.
Wow, thank you so much, this comment really made my day. I definitely agree, playing through an amplifier is so amazing. It's a living breathing thing!
Been enjoying your demos of all the rare monsters of high gain from Redseven to Badcat and beyond. Also your cheerful and friendly mindset is what the high gain community needs cause there are so many trolls out there that ruin it for everybody. NB: I just noticed I did not subscribe so here is a sub for you. Cheers from Morocco.
It's really nice to see that you dedicated a big chunk of this video to the positive comments this time. Goes to show all the support you've got 😊 I'm in search of buying my first tube amp for around a 1000 bucks. Can you share your recommendations in that range?
Don’t let the haters get to your head! There’s a reason we all keep coming back. You do awesome things! I am still in the building process of my pedal collection so I only have a Precision Drive when it comes to boost pedals. I was curious if you would have the time to do a boost pedal comparison while using one of your Tonex presets just to see how they react? I love your captures and I love the Precision Drive but it would be awesome to hear how the others react with your presets. If you don’t think it’s worth a video I understand just keep doing you!
Thanks for commenting and for the kind words, I really appreciate it. I'll see what I can do regarding comparing some overdrive pedals for you guys. Thanks for the suggestion, please be patient with me as I have a lot going on right now.
Thanks for the video Jarrod excellent as always, How does the ODD box sound with the evh Iconic head which i have am planning on getting that pedal, and I have 2 DSL H 100 watt heads I was planning on using that pedal on those heads as well.
Thank you very much, good question, I'll have to find out for you. I'm sure it will sound great with that amplifier. That said, it's always fun testing things out
Good question, I think the ODD Box would warm that amplifier up a little bit. I really think it's worth a try. It might help out the blue channel as well
All three amps are great but for value, the EVH amps win easily. If I was on a budget and needed a good rock and metal amp, the EVH would be my top pick.
Hey Jarrod any plans on getting your hands on the new Blackstar HT Venue MK III 100 watt head ? Saw a few videos on YT and was really digging it… would be cool to see you put it through its paces !
One the bad comments: I do not get the reason for it. Music is not a competition, it is a creative display of emotion. If it makes you feel good then it’s good. People should realize if you are either a pro or hobbyist musician we all have one thing in common. It’s a love for creating music.
THE real winner here is Steve Shaheen. Steve bought a guitar with a headstock. Turns out; you can teach a tired, old, angry, mangy dog a NEW trick. And the 5150 ICONIC WOULD CRUSH ANY MESA.................period. For 1/5th the price. Evh Iconic for the Win.
While there are MANY videos that demonstrate the Bad Cat amplifiers, the truest ones in my view, are those that do not place an overdrive and/or distortion pedal within the signal chain. Maybe it’s just me however I will never understand the logic behind inserting an effect loop into the signal chain while attempting to demonstrate “the tone of an amp.”
@12:10 IS WHY I FOLLOW YOU. I've had the pleasure of phone calls with you where you told me things I didn't want to hear. But I knew it was heartfelt. I know when you demo a piece of gear, I am getting the truth. People often say, "Hey Jarrod, thanks for all you do in the guitar community." And I think to myself, the youtube guitar community is nothing more than a bunch of sycophants. YOU are not. Please never follow the lead of the "guitar community." Please continue to do you. Please continue to tell the truth. I will take your 10K subs and honest videos all day long over some big boob chick whom was flown to the factory "to get a better feel for how the product she is reppin is made!" I will take your videos all day long over some dude who screams, hates religion and changes his opinion based on which segment of the guitar product community is paying him. I will take your videos and "low sub count" over a long haired dude who has more channels than I have socks.......simply for the ad revenue he generates. When it becomes about money...........trust is lost. You have maintained trust for over 5 years. And I believe you will continue to keep that trust into the future. In closing: PLEASE NEVER BE A PART OF THE RU-vid GUITAR COMMUNITY. They suck. You rule. And Mesa Is a horrible company. just sayin. ----Ben
I don't think you are a gear snob. You said the Katana artist sounded good. So that was cool. I like trolling some guitar channel dudes for fun. Louis Torres and Kyle Bull are kinda fun to troll once in awhile. I don't even have anything against those guys, I just think it's fun to pick on them. 😆 Your mix at the end, Night Terrors, I had no idea you made any mistakes on it. It sounded great to me. A lot of times, only the player knows if he/she makes a mistake. Unless the audience is very familiar with a piece of music, they won't even notice small mistakes. Some players will even play things differently live, just to mix things up a bit. See if the audience notices. Usually, the only people in the audience who notice, are other musicians. ( Because they study and practice songs. ) Since I have been practicing "Moon Bark" lately, I have noticed that EVERYBODY plays that song different. It's the perfect song to take and make it your own. There is so many different things you can do with that song, and still make it sound like it's supposed to! Just learn the basic rhythm parts, and the chord progressions, and then load it up with all the fancy tricks in-between! Squeels, dive-bombs, hammer-ons, whatever you want to do, it all works! 😆
Great video as usual in my opinion, the Mark series always sound terrible. Does the links have enough mid range to get really guttural? The reason you demo cleans is because any decent amp with a good clean channel it should be showcase and you’re not so stuck up your own ass that you think it is unimportant, also the only reason the Chugga Chugga guys talk shit on leads is because they simply cannot play them so then they turn it into a big joke. I have been eyeing this amp for a while. Bad cat is and always has been a hidden gem. they’ve never really do hundred watt heads ever. But I think they pride themselves on having such massive iron in them that they still retain all the clarity at higher volume.
Thanks for commenting, yeah I think the Lynx has enough mid-range in it to get nasty I appreciate what you said here regarding the cleans and leads. I don't know why people don't demonstrate the clean channels, they are essential for most of us.
