Hello Robert! Do you know about UFO? It's the hard rock band from 70th, Michael Schenker was the guitarist of that band. Try to listen "Rock Bottom" from the album "Phenomenon" (1974). I think that it's amazing hard rock song with cool riff and beast two minutes long solo. Concert versions of solo can be 6 minutes long!
Definitely some Steel Panther riffs. Most people really overlook their talent. My personal SP favourite riff is "Ten Strikes You're Out". Killer riff imo.
That extreme tune was a great one for sure. Very underrated riff! The first riff that came to my mind before I watched was a tune by Lynard Skynyrd called "On the Hunt". I have always loved that riff.
Every Soundgarden riff besides Black Hole Sun. That became their most iconic song, but they have some great rockin' riffs out there. Honestly they're just a band that should be more famous in general.
Brent Mason and Lenny Kravitz!!! AWESOME!!! "Always on the Run" is one of the greatest unsung rock riffs out there, too. Played by none other than Slash. Thanks for another rockin' vid!! \m/
Gotta say, there are soooo many 80's type guitarists. Some of my fav guitarists, Vitto Bratto, Warren Dean Martini, Nuno Bettencort, Ritchie Kotzen and The wildman Zakk. We think alot a like. Vitto has been hiding his melodic talent for decades! I miss his playing bad! Heard he left to ( God bless) to take care of his mother! Love the vids bro, you have inspired me to pick it back up and stroke that fiddle. After several years. Still got it, much love!
All very good choices. I'd only have added Rock Bottom by UFO. Sic skillz tho bro. I like those little bends you get in there every once in a while, Guthrieesque in some ways.
Satori (Part I) // Flower Travellin' Band Brontosaurus // The Move Smoking the Day Away // May Blitz Got a Bone of My Own // Night Sun Little Dreamer // Van Halen It's Late // Queen Just Got Paid // ZZ Top Down and Out // Pluto Slave // The Rolling Stones Cold Shot // Stevie Ray Vaughan Journey to the Center of the Mind // The Amboy Dukes Faith Healer // The Sensational Alex Harvey Band Too Late for Love // Def Leppard Trinity // Santana ft. Kirk Hammett and Robert Randolph Lazy // Deep Purple Bad Love // Eric Clapton Shotgun // Mr. Perfect Main Street // Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band Listen // Chicago Keep Pushin' // REO Speedwagon Mood for a Day // Yes Too Rolling Stoned // Robin Trower Parisienne Walkways // Gary Moore Strutter // KISS Full Moon Turn My Head Around // Off Broadway Are You Experienced? // The Jimi Hendrix Experience King of Hollywood // Eagles Girls Just Want to Have Fun // Robert Hazard
When it came out "Rock and roll is dead" was uber-famous and played constantly on every radio and MTV. It didn't stood the test of time, but back then it was as famous as it gets!
Robert I'm looking for a valve amp mainly for home use for about 700-1000$ to get a sound that is as close to yours as possible (optimal if its a combo as well), your tone is one of the best i have ever heard, it's amazing! Love your videos and your playing and ofc, You! \M/
@@acemew3255 I am considering the dsl40cr combo . is there a good revv combo that has a similar tone to the head version he uses? thanks for the help =)
Nothing wrong with the dsl 40 but since you’re after Robert’s tone you might as well get an origin 50 head since he actually owns it... any Orange tube head would work well enough I would imagine
Richie Kotzen - Paying Dues (the verse riff, not the opening chorus) Steve Vai (with David Lee Roth) - Hina - this is far and away my favourite Vai riff. Not heard anything like it before or since.
Great video and choices! Great to see you are the saint I am the sinner get some love. I’ve been screaming for years about how awesome that whole song is. Also love bloodbath too. That’s always been one of my faves from the zack years with ozzy.
just about anything from UFO. but i'd settle for Lights Out. Tomorrow's Dream...I know it's on we sold our souls but that riff is so cool & not nearly famous enough. Cold Sweat from Thin Lizzy...that era of Lizzy gets overlooked and it's too bad because is a killer riff/tune. We Become One by Fastway...severely underrated band and riff. Day of the Eagle from Robin Trower...everyone goes for too rolling stoned but Day of the Eagle is killer & not famous enough.
Always loved bloodbath! Great Zakk riff super fun to play, Nice to see some Nuno in there to!! Amazing riff writer and player, Nice ones bro, Rock on!!
You know when you hear music that was made because the musician felt he needed to make it but didn’t know what to make and was uninspired? These riffs are those, just generic place holders that aren’t bad, but all run together with thousands upon thousands of other riffs that all are the same and uninspired. Lesson: if you don’t have a riff, maybe wait until you do, before recording the song, or even go without a riff, just ‘cause Page could do it doesn’t mean you MUST, tell the studio to take a hike.
Vito Bratta! Awesome. But I think Jason Becker's playing on "eat 'em and smile" should be known by every guitarist. Every song and every note is perfect on that album and nobody ever covers it.
@@chrisbingham5665 correct. For some reason I was having a brain fart and wrote the wrong CD title! Thanks for correcting me. Out of the 2 albums, Becker's playing was leagues ahead of Vai in terms of musicality. But that's just my opinion. I sometimes play the what if game: how would he have followed that album up? It's probably my favourite album from anyone so far. Doubt I'll hear anything to better it though.
I mean i know u are not that much of a metal guy but u should really check out some Gojira songs cause they have such great and unique riffs like born in winter
