@@UncleOji It's a good idea to have your facts straight when "teaching". If this pewtube guy didnt take the time to research his analogies then how can i trust everything else he says?
The entire purpose of DD furniture is so that you know it's a DD without having to check the branding. It's for flexing I guess? If they threw Magpul or B5 furniture on, no one would be able to tell from 3 lanes down that you're running the gucci.
Some tips for those at home: At such short range as 25 yards, those 1/2 MOA adjustments are only adjusting about 1/8” per click. MOA is angular, not linear.
@@markanthonypar-wise1499 I don’t know for sure. Maybe he’ll chime in, but that looked to be a pistol bay and around 30 steps from barricade to target.
@investigativeoutcomes9343 id zero a fighting riffle to 50 (i think that also is 200 yard as well) and like 308/6.5 to 100 yards and dial from there or use ur tree
I like the 20” fn barrel with the a2 front site has block. Everyone you will face in the modern world has body armor. The best chance you have at defeating body armor is with velocity. 24” would be better, but that’s just too long. Also run an LPVO with quick release. I think having irons is an absolute must. And what’s more important than that, is actually hitting targets with them at 200, 300, 400 yards. Once you master the irons up close and at distance, start playing with magnification. My brother has the same acog with the green chevron. He absolutely loves it. I prefer being able to adjust my magnification.
I'm here from m26_lemongrenade's viewer base....staying for ACOGs and shooting to 600 meters with 5.56. Keep up the good work, and preach the truth 👏 anyone with a 14.5" - 16" 5.56 SHOULD be able to make hits consistently to 500, and 600 with practice.
set up: 16” BCM “RECCE” set up. SF light similarly mounted. 5x VORTEX prism. I am actually surprised and impressed with Vortex. ACOG coming soon because it’s a want.
Barrett Rec7 receivers, 2 stage trigger, B5 Sopmod and pistol grip, 14.5" faxon gunner barrel w/pinned gas block w/nitrided bcg, strike industries cloak flashhider, radian ambi charging handle, odin works ragna 12.5" rail, and will be upgrading optics to a trijicon ascent 1-4x lvpo with a 45 degree mount with a RMR (6moa/non-powered version). Blue Force 2 point slings and a mounted light.
Just a couple of points. When you zero any type of optics start from a supported rest at 20 yards. Fire a 3 shot group. Put your reticle on the point of aim and move the reticle to the shot group. Fire a 2nd 3 shot group. You should be on or very close. If further adjustments are needed repeat the process. Once your zeroed at 20 yards you have a mechanical zero for 20/300 yards. I zero the ACOG so the tip of the chevron is at a 6 o'clock position under the target so it doesn't cover the view of the target especially in low light were the majority of gunfights actually occur within point blank to 60 yards. You can adjust your aim by holding the chevron at progressively higher as the distance in creases. Also once you have your MZ get into a soiled prone and make any further adjustments needed to be on target. That will be your battle zero BZ.
Psa premium FN barrel 16 inch, magpul furniture, upgraded controls, klarus light, primary arms 1x6 on adm qd/romeo 5 adm qd, magpul bius long range rear sight, springco springs everywhere, nib coated cam pin, FN extractor, bcm gas rings and upgraded extractor springs. Basically best you can do value wise.
Recently Ive noticed how hyped I get when I just get to a spot to shoot. I have to meditate on the set up so I can chill and do things like zero out and actually get work done the right way. Otherwise I feel Im waisting rounds even though Im nailing it. Thanks for all the tips and tricks Trench. The more knowledge the more control of myself and gear. Cheers!
I like what your cooking. Raw. I see a lot of "CounterCulture" Gun-tubers say that you need to spend $1800-2400 on a "RUGGED BATTLE TESTED" Daniel Defense or some shit. Most people never get to the end of life with their stock barrel cause they dont train enough. I would prioritize training with your $700 rifle over the whole "Buy Once Crye Once" mentality.
100% spot on! I have a few 10.3, 10.5 and 12 inch AR's, but my Gucci zombie apocalypse is a pin and welded 14.5 inch with the ACOG..but that is just me. Plus I have a bolt action 300 win mag....you do you I will do me. Those Epstein Island jokes.......LOL!
A buddy of mine recently got an Amber reticle ACOG. In my group of training buddys we have a green and red reticle versions also. I have an astigmatism and the amber is by far the clearest reticle for me .
You're almost there. A 16in or above is your spear. Your 10.5 or shorter is your sword, and your pistol is a dagger. 2 is one . One is none. If I know I am going into battle I am carrying accordingly.
Another way of looking at it is how Philip of Macedonia famously employed longer pikes than the standard Greek phalanx. This was a big factor in him being able to conquer Greece. Just look at Afghanistan. The Taliban quickly adapted to just lobbing PKM fire from outside of 5.56 range. The XM7 is "supposed" to be about punching through armor with a short barrel, but let's be honest, when you pair a long barreled version with the new Vortex smart scope, you have a long range monster. Think long range.
Spear= rifle sword=pistol. Most people carried swords they were cheaper and easier to carry during medieval/ancient time Gladius= short sword Pelium= weighted javelin Also what zero distance was that? Used in the video
Most people did NOT carry swords. You could no joke make 20 spear heads with metal of just one sword. Spears were more prevalent then swords even right up to the point of small arms. EDIT: Spears technically still exist with the rifle and bayonet so my point still stands that the spear remains king of the battlefield in terms of melee weapons.
@@John_439 You’re half true my friend. It’s dependent on the culture and society but most noblemen, professional warriors and soldiery, usually had all three a primary, a secondary, and then a knife was usually a utility tool like modern day knives but were often used as a last resort if all else fails. It was common for a hoplite to have a Dory (Spear) Hoplon(Shield) Xiphos(Sword) or Kopis (Knife but long enough to be a short sword).
@TheWarriorScholarTWS yes which matches up to the professionals of to day (military, police, feds, bodyguards, etc) I was mostly equating the pistol=knife to normal people back then and today. Most people don't or can't carry a rifle daily while for cop it's fine but anyone (more or less, laws ....) can and do carry a handguns like throughout history knives have been carried by everyone as tools and emergency weapons.
@@John_439 ahhh I see your analogy for sure. See but id say the same thing most people aren’t just walking around with spears even though they are they best weapon on the battlefield only city guard (police), militaries, and militia would carry a spear just like you said modern forces do. Like a rifle spears are too unwieldy in most public places like a tavern or council meeting. So I guess mentally I was thinking Spear/Lance = Rifle (you’d bring it in extreme situations of war and conflict and strife) Sword=Handgun (longer than a knife thus more effective against a man armed with a knife. Sidearm in battle if your rifle/spear goes down, unless ofc you can find another rifle/spear to acquire and you can can wear it in public no suspicion like a handgun) Knife=Knife (soldiers need to cut wood, cloth, and other materials including people if you have absolutely nothing else) So that was my idea and how I looked at it as a former soldier and current free man lmao.
I’m using the scalarworks peak iron sights (fixed) on my main setup 16”. Got my first 11.5 and i set it up with the same SW peak iron sights on it. Eventually will step up to an eotech on the 11.5. Since I have a shorter range platform now, I’m considering putting an lpvo on my 16”
I know it been hard recently and you're doing a ton of good work bud. Keep working out, keep in shape bro. Please keep eating right and lay off of the alcohol. We all need ya.
Oh and to add to why shorter barrels heat up quicker is think of it as a heat sink. Longer barrel more dispersal of heat and more surface area to lose the heat as well (more area for air to flow over)
My spear: BCM 14.5” ELW, EXPS3, 3X mag, Unity mounts, RC2, Warcomp CTN, SF mini scout with vamp head, BFG 2 point, SSA trigger, Radiant ambi safety and CH, Magpul CTR, BCM vert grip, rattle can camo job. I have other 5.56 and .308 rifles setup for short or long range but my 14.5” would be my “go to” if i could only grab one.
These were exactly my thoughts I've had over the last few months. I have a DDM4v7 16" primarily with night vision in mind... so, I stick with a Eotech xps3 on a riser and a sig 4x magnifier and a Steiner DBALl d2, maybe not the best for engaging to distance but it fits my purpose. anyways, back to my point; people have told me that its "too long," despite the fact I've never noticed any issue with it. that I need to get something shorter. The only thing I have left to buy is a suppressor and I plan to go with a surefire rc2, which even that may be too long... but despite its size I like the added capability and I think it outweighs the cons. Not to mention in some situations I could just remove it. Sorry if this sounds incoherent, I've been awake for 26 hours or so lol
Just a fun note on physiology... Unless you have certain types of colorblindness, human eyes are more sensitive to green and less sensitive to red. That is why red is a popular choice for preserving night vision. Since you are not as sensitive to red, it tends not overwhelm your eyes when you are night adjusted. On the other hand, you will pick up a green reticle more readily. That and it will seem brighter then red at any given power level. That also means that you can see it well at a lower power level than red and can save a little extra battery. Goes for green lasers too. It's why green lasers more often seem "daylight bright." You just pick it up better.
I feel like almost nobody builds rifles or trains around the idea of operating as just another gun in a 10-12 man squad. If there's a target that needs to go down at 600y and all your team has is 5.56 rifles you're gonna shoot at it. You must. Volume of fire is what really matters. You can't just sit that one out because you have an 11.5. You should have at least one rifle that never leaves you outranged. Whether that's an accurized 16" SPR or an 20" PSA flat top with an SLX 5x doesn't really matter.
Pretty sure most people just got a 16" gun until pistol braces came about. I got my 16" rifle and an 18" with a x9 magnification. Also ya I hate the dd grip so much. It's too straight and it gets thinner at the top to the point where it's awkward. The stock isn't too bad though.
Well I live in Cali so we only have rocks that are to about 10 meters of range but with good optics you can get out to 15 meters but we cannot use slingshots because those are weapons of war.
My go to shtf would easily be my 16.1" LWRC M6 DI running a Steiner p4xi in an AD QD mount / magpul mbus pros / HRT AWLS white light, "thing is crazy bright". Load out is definitely on the chunky size. Without ammunition it weighs just under 9ibs but boy oh boy has she been extremely reliable and accurate! The HBAR barrel really does a great job with heat dispersion. Can easily go 3 - 4 full mags PAST both my DD & SOLGW med profile barrels and somehow will cool off quicker as well. This weekend I'm taking a carbine2 course that will put the rifle over 6k rounds. Really hoping to stretch barrel life to the 20k limit. As of now she still prints 1moa with 77g mk262 and 2.5moa with imi M193 which is still more than acceptable.
SOPMOD Block 2 as close as I can make it. It's heavy and cost as much as a nice used car with the ELCAN, PEQ, and Sure Fire bits and pieces but it runs nice.
Also i run a colt LE6920 upper on a bcm lower. 16" m4 clone-ish with a kac rail. Very old school thinking instead of a free float with the green chevron acog. Dont have an rmr on it yet. Vickers sling, and streamlight mounted to the A2 front post with tail cap button.
if we're talking something that can reach out and touch someone than i have my 20" ar i assembled. not the most gucci but it ticks all the boxes. 20" FN barrel with a romeo tango MSR 1-6 on an ADM QD mount and I've got a Holosun eps carry on an arisaka canted mount for a true 1x option that doesn't weigh very much. some mbus pro back up sights too. it's my second favorite rifle.
I get mild ptsd from the word "forbidden popsicle "... I might have been rrally stupid the first time I got my can to the range. I'll never do that again. Lesson learned.
I have 2 GTW Rigs . If I could only take 1 it would be my tried and true TDP COLT M4A1 SOCOM BLOCK II With TA31CH-G ACOG and Top Mounted RMR.. My other setup is 13.7" Middy with EXPS3 , Micro 3x MAGNIFIER , and YHM TURBO K on DA428 ADAPTER. I run Nox Keymo Hybrid Flash Hider , Cloud Defensive Rein MICRO 3.0-DF , and WPS QD Sling on all my rigs . 13.X" Middy is my preferred Barrel Length for almost any Situation. I ran Colt MK18 for 12 years . Even in confined spaces a 13.X" does not slow me down at all . Pretty much all setups are setup for 400Y and in . Eotech with 3x MAGNIFIER is my preferred setup .
Colt, M4, magpul mil spec, 5.56/.223. Iron sights zeroed at 25 confirmed at 300. I’m gonna go with the 36 yard zero next time at the range. I need a good red dot sight and ir laser. That means I need advice on the best sights and lasers. Help me out my brothers, and maybe one sister watching this channel🤘🏻
i honestly love the daniel defense pistol grips, i used to think their stocks looked awesome.and their pistol grips were ugly when i first got into shooting, but now i hate their stock and love the grips, totally weird how your style and opinions change with your progression
Nope. That shit sucks. I have 3 dd rifles and I don’t use that grip on any of them. The moe k2 shits all over the dd grip. Let alone the reptilia cqg, b5 systems, emissary development and bcm furniture is all way better.
10.3-12.5s are like zweihaners or nodachi/changdao "battlefield sword" can be used to guard in close quarters and go against longer weapons if needed. in a real open battle fight it's at a disadvantage against full length pole weapons. some guys carried battle swords as primaries and often it was to guard the long polearm guys close up. they were also used get an offensive advantage in close combat when all the guys with long polearms are locked in formation against each other. maybe there are parallels to a modern CQB specialist idk
