Like Jason Sears (RIP) from RKL said at a live show in 2000. "Hardcore didn't die it just got old and fat". Favorite part of my life was in the 80's Seemed like there was a punk rock show every weekend. Circle Jerks and Black flag were two of my favorites in the early 80's. It is kind of cool to see a lot of the old punk bands from the 80's playing shows again.
It does kind of bother me, because it feels like fawning over them. Let them be outrageous; be a f*&ing pro interviewer. John Bohlinger is just so much better.
I’m not a prude and yes, it’s punk rock, but I think his profanity is unprofessional in the context of an interview when the focus should be on the guest. It’s annoyingly distracting.
Lol holy shit, a few Mary's in here. I didn't even notice, I couldn't imagine being offended by a few sounds coming outta a fellow man's mouth. Grow a pair gents, its embarrassing.
Zander said you made him feel old no Zander we are old.I saw the Jerks every time they played around the east coast,I can honestly say they are one of the greatest live punk band ever. One of the most rare bands that some of their best albums were later albums like Wonderful is one of my favorite albums full stop. Not punk album just one of the best albums ever made in my opinion.
I would not go that far. The Sex Pistols, The Ramones...there's some real heavy hitters when you're talking the GOAT. But that being said, everyone's GOAT is as varied as one's favorite ice cream. You like what you like!
My punk rock mom used to bring me home Circle Jerks flyers when I was a kid in the 80's. Freakin legends! Gotta try those flat wounds and heavy triangle picks for sure. Back in the 90's I played bass in the North Carolina punk band "30 Deep". I used green Dunlop "shark tooth" picks, and round wound Roto-Sound strings that used to seriously shred my freakin' fingers. Used to have to wear a sports band on my right arm as we played soo fast I was burning a freakin' hole in my wrist. Back then I toured with a USA G&L P bass with a Peavey stack. Man a miss that rig. Rocking a bunch of Squires now as a punk rock dad straight into my DAW. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Awesome Rig Rundown!! Bravo!
I’ve been a fan of this band since I first heard them in 1985. I’ve disliked Perry since I first saw him interviewing someone on this channel… Part of the reason that i unsubscribed.
I'm glad I'm not alone in my discomfort with the needless cursing. I figured it might be. This is not a good look to have one of your hosts doing it. Perry doesn't typically do this and he's making you look bad here. I got about 4 minutes in and bagged it. Cursing just isn't my thing. See ya on the next one.
