I've always thought those Venoms were the best looking speed/power boats and the alien cowl was definitely the way to go. Damn that thing is sexy as hell and yall did a great job laying it out. Awesome setup guys.
New subscriber here. Great job on rigging this boat. Yall should make the videos longer. But anywho great content and much love to ya brothers from Maryland❤❤❤
Where can you get the venoms from? I have a vking that I haven’t used in 10 years getting ready to start the process on the core stringers and transom but I’m liking the idea of a new venom
First, nice work on Tristyn's rigging, its looks super clean. I'm absolutely thrilled to see a new 'Hydrostream' come out of a mold. I have a red and black 2004 Venom with a 2005 280 ROS My boat was supposed to have been the one in the TRO video racing cars next to a slough somewhere in FL. Somewhere along the way the engine rigging has been messed up and unless I load the boat with passengers I cant get it over 80 without a deadly chine walk occurring. I would really like to know where you positioned the outdrive with respect to the plaining surface on this boat. I just raised mine by a 1/2 inch hoping to work this problem out. Unfortunately I also suffered a lower unit failure; which exposed worn out threads holding the carrier into my case. I've had to piece a new 15 inch lower together. Its been costly... But I hope to be spending 'Weekends On The Water' soon. I'd give anything to go on one of your runs with everyone. I live in WA State, sadly there are very few outboard enthusiasts and most of the Hydrostreams introduced in the state have vanished. I hope to hear back from you, thx in advance.
That is badass. Y’all did a great job on the setup, super clean. Only thing I think you should’ve done different is gone with center steer. Just my opinion though. Excellent work gentlemen!
@TroyPrewitt-fm7ic apparently Hydro Stream. I'm not sure where they are located. Probably Tennessee. It seems all the fastest boats come out of that area.
@@weekendsonthewater understandable 👍🏻well it looks sounds good. I live in lake Havasu work for Domn8er power. I have a 78 Kurtis Kraft 5/8 runner bottom. Pro gas 140’s on a good day. Love boating good luck stay safe ✌🏻
Why are you drilling those transom holes without a Jig? I dont care how hard you try to keep the bit straight, it isnt. I guarantee you had a hard time getting those bolts lined up to bolt the jack plate.
Nope they went right in. If the jackplate isnt drilled perfectly then the jackplate goes on crooked. (Ive seen it too many times) I was a fabricator by trade for many of years, drilling holes straight is not a problem
@weekendsonthewater Beautiful boat and set up. Agree, if you can afford new, why buy a reclamation project. I've watched these on line, endless hours if one is a perfectionist. Rotten spongey floors, hidden rot in transom, yikes. Very fine work men. I was nervous for you on the drilling, though you tripple measured. I to, run up through the drill sizes. You may or may not have considered a poster board template which then may be taped to hull. Just like making a perfect fit gasket. Exceptional work and final results men!
