Respect to Riggs for doing this, but MAN did this show his actual golf level. A course he's familiar with against a guy who has never played in front of cameras before. If he didn't hole that shot out of the bunker (amazing shot btw) and pick up MULTIPLE times due to conceding, he'd realistically be looking at a round in the high 90's to low 100's imo. You can't judge any golfer on a single 18, but this was an abysmal showing

I think Riggs calculates his handicap based off of the foreplay scramble scores. I have never seen anyone with a sub 5 handicap consistently not be able to get off of the tee.

Doug plays exactly how I expect an 8 to play: Mostly pretty good golf with some bad golf sprinkled in. Riggs plays mostly bad golf with some good golf sprinkled in. The difference is pretty evident. Credit to Riggs for doing this though.

Well, that was entertaining. Respect to Riggs for taking on a h8ter and to Mr. Doug for accepting the challenge. They both were very respectful and made it fun to watch. Mr. Doug started out hot and then cooled a bit and that hole out on #2 by Riggs was amazing. Good win by Mr. Doug but he had to fight for it. Lastly, I really appreciate Riggs' attitude and demeanor. He never seems to get rattled, loses his cool, and stays positive.

The ominous music playing added to the drama .. but the respect you two had during the match was outstanding! THIS is what golf is about!

Riggs is no single digit handicap. More like a 10-13 handicap. This video and many others prove it. Doug is a class act. Big win for him, on a course he’s never played and on camera for the first time. Love the “unofficial scores” too when Riggs picked up on multiple holes, already on bogey or double bogey and he’s no where near the green yet 😂. Cmon man. This should be a regular series with all the foreplay guys!

I think the longest putt Doug had in the first 4 holes was about 12 feet for birdie. He was looking like a scratch golfer for 4 holes. Middle of the fairway, iron inside 12 feet and two putts for par. Golf looks easy when you play like that.

The reason people give you so much grief online, Riggs, is because people who golf (honestly) understand the incredible amount of time and effort that go in to maintaining a low single-digit handicap. Us who know what it takes and what it looks like also know what it very much doesn’t look like, and can generally spot it from a mile away. Someone who claims to be a near-scratch golfer but shows no signs, consistently, proves himself to be stealing his valor.

This was so enjoyable to watch, thankyou to Riggs and Stripe show Doug. I think if Riggs could working his game out of the tee he generally would be a 4 marker. His short game "not pretty to watch" but works and he's generally solid from 150 and in. Maybe do a series to "fix Riggsys driver" we all loved when Trent got lesson's, was great watching.

Why Match play? If you’re a low handicap (inherently consistent) you always wanna play stroke. In Match you be hitting 5 off the tee box and just pick up. In Stroke you can put up a quintuple bogey. Jumped to the last hole to see Riggs scrambling for double bogey. I’ll watch it I guess but this did nothing for his reputation.

Never understood the negative criticism of foreplay and hating on Riggs. He seems like a genuine guy and his short game is decent. Even pros have bad rounds at times. Riggs and Doug kept things respectful while battling it out. Says a lot about their character

Doug going out and playing honest 8 hcp golf video taped was incredible. Riggs losing 2 down on a pretty normal day for him shows he’s closer to an 8-10 hcp. I’d love to get Riggs in a stroke play match. He’d have a couple triples that would totally destroy him

22:00 His ball wouldn’t be that covered in dirt if that was his ball. Even if he planted that thing so far into the ground on the first hit, it wouldn’t come up like that. He found a ball and claimed it was his. That ball has been in that ground for months/years. It wouldn’t have that much dirt attached if it was freshly dug in. Doug questioned it in the cart afterwards and Riggs mumbled gibberish. Doug knew lol. That’s what Riggs does. Prob uses the good old foot wedge too. He couldn’t get away with anything on this video so he laughed it off but you could tell he was embarrassed. He reminds me of my friend who will slice it 340 yards into the trees and we will hear it hit trees, yet he somehow always finds his ball next to the green after he ‘takes the cart to go look for it’ instead of just waiting for me to hit and we go together. That’s riggsy boy for ya His 3 handicap is now 100% confirmed bullshit. Other than the lucky hole-out he woulda shot in the mid to high 90’s if it was stroke play And stop commending him for taking the challenge. In his own mind Riggs is a 3 and an 8 is like a 30 compared to his skillset. He thought he had it in the bag but an 8 can be just as consistent as scratch when they’re truly an 8. My favorite part was him saying “Oh Douglas” on the first hole when he left the putt short. You know we wanted to say every cuss word in the book. I’m gonna start calming saying “oh Douglas” every time I get pissed on the course

This is the Foreplay content I remember and enjoyed

For Doug, being the first time on camera, with everyone following you around was a 4-5 stroke disadvantage. He calmed himself pretty well.

That guy played extremely well for an 8.4 at a new course. Maybe he just played super well that day. My favorite part is the part where Riggs says he played terrible, topped tee shots and posted 81. I am a 10 handicap and 81 is a decent round for me. I am typically around an 83-86. Maybe I am just a bad 10 handicap or Riggs just had a bad day. Riggs can definitely play very good golf and has a good short game from what I have seen in the past. If he was better off the tee I could believe he was a 5-8 handicap, but just too many duffs/slices, etc to consistently be a 5-8 handicap. I feel like both guys showed up and played some decent golf. Some bad shots, but all in all good golf to watch. Good on both of them.

Riggs is the best; who cares what his swing looks like. Humble throughout and nothing but class.

Doug, well played and I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your child. My wife and I lost a child from leukemia at the age of six weeks so this really hits home. We ran two Boston Marathons and participated in Fenway Fantasy Day (to benefit the Jimmy Fund) in his honor. I’ll be sure to donate to your charity! Riggs, I know the feeling of having my driver go south and blowing up my handicap. I shot a 73 to qualify for a state championship when my swing felt great but then the driver left me and only a few weeks later I struggled to shoot an embarassing 89 in the championship. It happens to everyone! Chin up! I’m sure you’ve tried a 7w or driving iron just to get it in play until you figure out the driver?

Haven’t watched foreplay in a minute. Riggs, this the content that the people want. Keep it up. We’re all in the struggle out here.
