Normally, in a directional search (left hand or right hand) number 1 has the branch whilst number 2 feeds the hose reel through the door. When you go through any door, be sure to close it behind yourself to reduce airflow. Also make sure you do a sweep check behind the door for any casualties. Normally number 2 only lets go of the hose reel if they or number one finds a casualty. At that point they would then begin casualty evacuation
Thanks for the detailed response, would you semd a radio message everytime you enter another compartment on a directional search? 👀 ask becuase wuite often you could be moving through several doorways in quick succession
