I think there needs to be some better communication within Storm on upcoming releases. Journey, Infused, Sublime, and Summit Peak being released back-to-back and filling a similar spot in the bag, just seems like they're cannibalizing sales. Obviously there's some differences but a lot of overlap too. I'm loving the Journey as a ball down from my Reality and Summit.

Fully agreed with this. I had a conversation last night at league about how there seems to be too much coming out lately. But clearly someone at Storm Headquarters knows how to read the numbers in order for the company to make money so there must be enough league bowlers buying these releases

Yeah I've had several people ask me about that. I think they need to mix it up a little more, sure they're selling plenty of balls, but they could also be selling more a whole lot more efficiently instead of putting out several similar balls and making them compete with each other, doesn't make much sense. TNT Infused is a great ball, but it's already been forgotten about and it's barely been out a month.

I can say for me personally because of all the overlap of the other recent releases, even though the Sublime looks good I'll be waiting to see how it compares to the Summit Peak before I fill that slot in my bag. Everything they're coming out with is rolling well but they're all very close together.

We already have the Peak and Power and filmed for them, the Peak acts pretty much like the Summit, just a little longer and sharper, which is still earlier and slower than the Sublime. There ARE some differences between all of these, just not very much, and even less if you're bowling on a house shot. The Sublime seems to combine everything the best so far, but we'll see once Zach drills the Peak.

@@Matts10100 Yeah I'm with you, they're all so on top of each other that most people will be able to flip a coin and won't notice the difference. Doesn't make much sense, but oh well.

Great review as always, Luke. I'm glad someone finally compared this to the OG Zen as that is what the Sublime reminded me of as soon as I saw its reaction, although a little stronger with more pop downlane. I actually sold my Zen and replaced it with the Sublime. I figure if I miss Zen, I'll replace it with a fresh one since it isn't going anywhere.

Zach is a beast but James is still my hero. Ok jokes aside from what i saw with mine i feel like the Sublime is the Summit for house patterns. Shape is different but as far as how the summit felt and the way it carried. It didnt tear through the soup and go face like the summit and was clean enough to push through the friction a little if i missed outside but would boomerang back plenty hard. Too bad its purple or i could see Angel loving it.

Nope, that's some new entertainment system, I think they're the first center in the country to have it installed. Comes with all kinds of other stuff too. They had a big party in there and asked if it'd be ok if they turned them on and I'm like sure, will probably spice the review up anyway lol.

Looking forward to the Summit Sublime comparison vid. 802 being ReX like would put it slightly ahead of Tx23 on strength but you mentioned Sublime seems alil cleaner and angular then Summit. Both look good, was realy thinkin bout the Summit soon but now the Sublime.... ;)

I'm not sure where TX 23 is actually, I haven't seen a chart with it yet. The Summit is definitely the stronger ball though, and I don't really believe where they put rex. It's a ton cleaner and weaker than a lot of the covers beneath it on the list. Technically it's a decent amount stronger than microtrax that's on the gems, and the Exotic is miles stronger than the blackout

@@LukeRosdahl I haven't thrown The Summit so I was just guessing that the tx-23 would be a notch or two above tx-16, kind of like nrg1 nrg2 is just a notch or two above nrg. Total guessing however lol, that's why I can't wait for your comparison vids! Keep up the great work, don't kick Angel aside she balls like us LOL

@@BigJim5754 Yeah you would think so, but the issue again is that I'm not too confident in their list any more. The EXO cover on the DNA is supposed to be their strongest ever and it's just not, it's really not close. I think that core being so chonky really amps the cover up too, like the TNT and TNT Infused are waaaay stronger than they're supposed to be for that clean of a cover, but that core rolls so heavy.

Is there a big enough hole between a Phaze 2 and Fate to be a good fit for the Sublime? Excellent video, and welcome to Zach!

Yeah definitely. I think the Fate is quite a bit weaker than it's supposed to be, and it's probably a step and a half down from a P2, while the Sublime would shoot that gap pretty well.

Threw this at a ball demo two weeks ago. Almost passed it up because I had not heard anything about it. Wanted something to look good on the fresh and they put our house shot out for each shift of the demo so I was able to get a decent read on it. Had thrown the other guys and couldn't find anything that looked at all good from anywhere. Then tried the SPI stuff expecting to be blown away by the VEBO, Summit, TNT Infused, Journey.. nope, nope, nope. So, what the heck, threw my stuff into the Sublime and headed to the lane. 10 bagger later before I was able to move far enough for it to flat ten. OK.. I'm interested. Thing is, yes, waiting for it to arrive, but here's the thing. Demo balls are laid out neutral so that they can be thrown either left or right handed. Should I ask my PSO to drill it with a demo ball layout to get that same look that made me lay down money for this thing? Pin was about the same as your layout for Zach but even shorter over the middle. Guessing that one of those numbers would also be shorter.. just don't know which one.. to get that demo layout. The look really made my colorblind eye happy as well. Felt I could be firm and throw with intent with it. I want that same thing when it's mine.

That's always tricky, generally if you like a ball or you match up to it, small layout changes to tweak the reaction or fit your game shouldn't cause any problems . . however, if you liked the way it was drilled, should just do that and not complicate it right?? I wouldn't worry about making an adjustment to the layout, but at the same time you're right, no reason to mess with it either if it worked.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they have the same coverstock, the ZGL is just symmetric.

This and a vebo will cover 70% of what most will see in league. Throw in a ruby and some abralon pads and you’re set.

Yeah, pretty impressed with this one. Hopefully it and the Infused aren't overshadowed or lost in the shuffle of all the big shiny syms we're cranking out right now.

Gold Label a couple months ago, plus the Zen still exists, then Infused, Journey, Sublime, Summit Peak, etc. Global's line looks stupid right now, there's a little variation in the 900 line, but then it's Zen-ZGL-Sublime in the 800 line which are all virtually right on top of each other, then the XPonent below them. I just don't understand the thought process here unless they're trying to do some market research or something . . put out a bunch of really similar stuff and see what people buy.

Not related to the video but what’s the difference between reacta gloss and xtra shine?

The different polishes and compounds have different grits, I think the xtra shine is even finer than the gloss, so it gets a shinier smoother surface.

@@LukeRosdahl thank you, I figured they were different grits but it’s hard to find that information for some reason. what would you recommend for shining up like a phaze II or xponent so it gets down the lane a little farther? I know you guys like to you the reacta scuff and the step 2 but I don’t really know the differences except that they’re compounds

@@rmantey05 I like using the compounds and just adjusting how much of them I use or how long I apply the polish. You can use more compound and polish longer to get a higher shine. I don't like the gloss or xtra shine because it reduces the strength of the ball more and makes it more inconsistent. Using one of the compounds gets more length and shape out of the ball without killing it too much.

@@Joshuaperalta8 Been trying, but it's just a lot to try to get somebody else with new balls and then schedule more filming and make more videos. Bowling videos are just unfortunately really time and cost prohibitive.
