Lmao ”we don’t speak a different language we speak English, just broken down.” Hahaha she was being nice that day cause I know rih can be shady... the lady tried it. Ha
Nessa Blue I wish people would stop saying this. Of course Bajans speak standard English like every postcolonial society colonized by the British, just with a regional accent unique to them....BUT a Bajan creole language does exist. It is NOT broken English (that completely ignores the grammar rules/syntax/creole words of various West African languages influence etc.) & has a rich history/heritage starting with the slave trade that simply doesn't follow the same rules as Standard English. It's so beautiful but even many natives including her don't acknowledge it because of the miseducation & even look down on it due to colonial standards/mentality taught from early on. But she is not speaking any hardcore Bajan creole here, just a little when she spoke to her mom over the phone.
I have a friend from Barbados and the accent is SO FUCKIN SEXY. It's one of the most interesting accents because it's a mix of Caribbean with British and something else I can't quite place. It's so interesting.
@@milah6088 yes, compared to mine and others i hear, hers is really watered down, in some of the clips it sounds like she barely used creole. It's combined with American and bajan I assume.
@@colourqueen22 the womans accent is strong but she sounds like she has a Guyanese accent, not bajan cause I can barely understand what she is saying, lol.

Same, my dad side family is caymanese but they had learned American English but they do have those accent pop outs and is really scary when some of them talk like that when they got angry...
I remember in an interview she said sometimes they ask her to “tone down” her accent, like why would you want to tone down this beautiful accent ?? You can still understand her 😍
It is so interesting to see her talk to her mom because her accent gets stronger & the slang that she uses make it sound like a whole different language🤯
Ms.Rhianna is such a wonderful entertainer with such a beautiful heart and a whole lot of love for humanity. It matters not how she speaks but what she speaks. God bless all those who have touch her life and all those whose life she touches. She is simply adorable. Let your glory shine on her dear Lord IJN.

Omg, I love her voice! Even when speaking , it sounds sing-songy! I’ve always been a sucker for Caribbean/creole/African accents/language. I think they are some of the most beautiful accent/language/way of speaking
Im Croatian Dalmatian and I also speak broken english.I can speak normal but Im too lazy.LOL Cause we also on Dalmatian coast speak diffrently so my english also sound fucked. I annoy well some people🤣
Most of the Caribbean countries that speak english speak creole just like how I am Jamaican people thinks that we speak broken English but we speak creole and thats just how it is and even through text we speak creole it's apart of our culture.
youboring I agree with Angel, she probably became used to Americans way of speaking and diluted her accent and she probably lost it for a while. It probably comes back and gets stronger when she’s in Barbados or when around her family or people who have the accent. Sometimes it’s a subconscious thing, and they do it without even thinking about it and without noticing
@@ladyjrod424 people dont understand the Caribbean accents well , weather it be bajan or trini or jamaican , that's why most including myself change their accent so people.from international countries like Europe and america can understand us
I'm from honduras and besides Spanish we also speak English, there's a Caribbean island called roatan and I can tell that people from there speaks English like that too .
'An' Caribbean island?? A Caribbean island. There are several, including Guanaja (Bonacca), Utila, Helene. They all have accents very similar to Cayman Islands.
the interviewer never said they speak a different language, rihanna made the assumption and that’s fine, but don’t trash the lady she prolly just wanted to know if there was a slang for pretty
When I was younger I thought she was British because I didn’t hear much of her accent. I feel like her Bajan accent sounds similar to British but when she’s singing or doing interviews she does more of a American accent. She’s got a beautiful accent either way 😍
The Caribbean islands have big hands with England they colonized the Caribbean the West Indies island am from trinidad and Tobago and a friend had told me I sound like am from England.
