This will never not be incredible to me. Like the fact that so many people remain so dedicated to this console is just so cool.

I wish the hShop on 3DS was able to have a similar UI to what the eShop originally had, sort of like this.

Imagine if you could eventually download custom dlcs from this, making just dance and guitar hero customs easier to access without downloading either custom full game mods or a bunch of wads on your pc.

Now i can finally use those 1000 wii points I've had for years once it comes out!

I like how people are constantly bringing back things of our beloved past in the 2020s.

I am legit excited for this to come out. This will bring back so many memories :D Edit: Welp, could've been great if Larsen didn't ruin it. Yipee.

The fact that even after 17 years there's still a huge homebrew community dedicated to the wii is just amazing

Is there any way I can support the creators? I really want this to exist, the Wii was my first console and hearing this song and seeing these menus always meant "new game :000" to my little kid self.

When I saw the Transfer Wii Points button, it was magical. This takes me back to when I had the Wii set up in my front room and I was desperate to buy some games so I got my Dad to enter his Credit Card information on the Wii and then I shopped. There's some games I wish I had gotten on the Wii back in the day, like World of Goo, but generally I'm proud of what I got.

This is best thing to come from wii modding in a long time. I thought this would impossible, but here we are, not only preserving the Wii shop games, but the Wii shop itself. I hope this gets finish and maybe even check the beta.

Dude I'm gonna cry. This is so nostalgic for me. I remember when I first got internet and was scrolling for hours through all the games I couldn't buy because I was a small child that didn't know how the online points worked. 2:44

I love how it's just as slow as it used to be

To anyone who still thinks Larsen didn't do anything wrong: He literally announced in the RiiShop server (when it still existed) that they were collecting everyone's IP addresses. There's literally no need for this as RiiConnect24 uses DNS and WiiLink uses MAC addresses. Furthermore, Larsen tried to silence anyone who brought it up which in turn just made him look worse. There is also the fact that the donation money was used to purchase certain "toys" (you know exactly what I mean). After this, a bunch of evidence of Larsen doing really bad stuff (saying the n-word, sending duck hunt r34 to a minor, etc.) started to surface. A friend of Yoshibyte and I named Coby literally confronted Larsen about saying the n-word, in which he admitted that he did in fact say it. His excuse for saying the n-word was that he had impulsivity (the tendency to act without thinking). There is nothing wrong with having impulsivity, however I don't think people with it just say the n-word on a daily basis. It's common knowledge that the n-word is bad. Continuing on, Larsen threatened to ban Coby from the RiiShop server if he ever brought it up. Once again, trying to silence the truth. Yoshibyte himself also confronted Larsen about him allegedly doxxing people, in which he word-for-word said "if I did 'dox' people intentionally or accidentally I would own up to it and apologize". Considering all the accusations Larsen has to his name, as well as his reputation in the homebrew community, I think it's safe to say that he would not own up to his mistakes. To this day, he has still not apologized for any of the things he has done and in fact denied all the claims. Now for some honorable mentions of other bad stuff Larsen has said: "I licked my sister on the cheek when she was sleeping. It woke here up lol" "I remember my sister got so bored and I tried to get her to play a game. I almost killed her" "I want to kill my mom lol" "Sometimes, I swear, I wanna break my sister's neck" "I tried strangling her" (presumably his sister) Even if none of this actually happened, who the hell just says that about their family? Even people in the RiiConnect24 server (before Larsen stepped down and WiiLink acquired them might I add) knew about how bad he was, and it's finally time people start realizing the truth. One last thing, it's kinda funny to me that this all started just because people in the RiiShop server starting reacting to every announcement with the 🅱 emoji.

Seeing the video title and thumbnail, reading the first edit to the description and then immediately seeing the second edit/pinned comment is literally the definition of “They had us in the first half, not gonna lie” 😈

you do NOT know how long I’ve been waiting for smth like freeShop but on Wii, I hope this actually comes to fruition soon

I will love to see this get out of beta testing, because this will also make it easier to get games with a homebrewed wii and uses the same UI like the original shop, I wish that hshop did this.

Don't want to be the downer but the RiiShop (as of the making of this comment with the Public Beta open) is full of security flaws and there's IP logs inside their servers, as well as their server is very unhelpful and toxic. 🚫Do not proceed to use this service until all problems have been fixed, and do not support these people that can put your privacy at risk very easily

I love it! There was just something really simple and fun about the old Wii Shop! The Virtual Console/WiiWare was one of my favorite things about the Wii! It is disappointing Nintendo didn't have a Virtual Console on the Switch and opted for a subscription-based service instead.

This project sure took off, i remember when all they had was a dead Discord server with like 40 members, no testers, just a small dev team that was making little to no progress, one even said to me the main thing they've made progress with is the code comments but then outa the blue they get the mario animation thingy working and fix some of the bugs and all crazy shit happens..... then the whole project blows up in the Wii community

This looks pretty cool, I'll have to remember to homebrew so it'll be ready to set this up one day.(I say this cause I don't get to things right away) lol The music, so many memories of listening to it while downloading Netflix onto multiple Wiis. I won't be downloading that again but I will likely be there a lot to try other stuff.

One thing to know, the Kirby TV Channel banner on the Wii Shop Channel is wrong.

We need this for the DSi, 3DS and Wii U
