Pastor Tim Johnson, a former NFL player, created a program called Fatherless No More, which combines baptism, basketball, and belief in a higher power to guide young inmates to a productive future. He brought in actress La La Anthony and hip-hop star Lil Baby to speak to detainees at the RNDC jail on Rikers Island. It is considered one of the most dangerous jails at the complex because it houses 18- to 21-year-old men, many of whom arrive with built-in beefs with other detainees.

I agree with you about promising young men, however, getting into trouble aint a mistake. It's a choice and if that bad Choice Is not violent or a serious crime, then i agree with the approach, if violent then they should be punished severely.

3 things I took from watching this. 1. What about all the criminals that have their fathers in their lives? 2. What I see with the black youth is them living out the Osirius & Heru legacy. Instead of locking up people who are awaiting trial on non violent crimes, how about you place ankle monitors on them until trial while tracking their movements and save half a million a yr per inmate and save Rikers for the ones waiting trial for murder, rape and other violent crimes. Just a suggestion.
