I'm sitting here today 3 days after LSU-FSU 2023 game with FSU currently ranked #4. He really really meant this speech. It gives me chills to see this speech almost 2 years later. To witness the results of hardwork, determination, passion and genuine love for both teammates and the game of football. Never been more proud to be a Seminole fan!! GO NOLES!!

2 years later and he beats Clemson and LSU to start the season 4-0 and are now contending for a playoff berth. Damn proud of you Coach and shout-out Corey for asking this program changing question.

I am sitting here rewatching this sitting at 9-0 and it's incredible how he means every word that he says. He always talks like this and he gets players who want to run through a wall for him. This is how you build culture when you are losing. This is also why unless it's a complete disaster coaches should be given at least 4 years to get their recruits in and build their program culture. It's crazy to me that last year we had fans who were thinking he wasn't our coach. I am so glad that our program knew who they had and knew the results would be worth the wait.

Im pleased to see him be accountable. I have no doubt he wants things to get better. Its the execution for me. Fanboys take note. Its ok to critique the HC when the team isn't winning. That doesn't mean he sucks as a coach. But he said it perfectly, losing is "failure". Im interested to see if the teams comes out w/ this passion on Saturday.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact Mel Tucker took a 2 win Michigan State team last year with players he didn’t recruit and has them 4-0 this year and playing discipline football.. it doesn’t take 3 recruiting cycles folks. Oh in case you’re wondering Michigan State in recruiting was ranked 44th nationally in 2020 33rd ranked in 2019 and 31st ranked in 2018. 😆

I still remember when ppl laughed at this as if he wasn’t true to his word 😂 Mike has gotten such undeserved criticism when he inherited the worst fsu team in our history with most players that felt let down and abandoned and mike stayed true to them. I love this man ❤. Glad to say I supported from day 1 🍢💯

I love to come back here and read the comments that were made 2 years ago. Response in the face of adversity is the true test of character.

After this I am more convinced than ever that he is the right man for the job. The program is getting turned around, but there is obviously a ways to go. It is better than the last few years, players and staff both have bought into the program. The fans forget that this situation did not happen overnight, and will not be fixed overnight.

Gonna start watching this for motivation. What a great man and coach Mike is.

Flash forward some time. We lost to Clemson essentially by 3 points and just beat Miami for the first time in 3 years. This press conference means more than we knew at the time. I think he he is turning things around. Let’s get some playmakers and see how loud Doak can get.

This is the response that I have been waiting to see. The only difference with Norvell and good experienced coaches is that they would have done it by mid-season last year and the beginning of this year. Remind people your program is young and inspire these kids.

Reminds me a lot of my high school coach. Took over a 2-8 team when I was a junior and by senior year we were 5-4 and had our first winning season since 08. Fsu fans have finally had to learn to be patient bc we were so spoiled. I’m lucky bc being a bucs fan through the 2010s humbled me 😂

People got to understand that our players and our culture have absolutely sucked the last few years. This coach actually cares and believes in what he's doing. More importantly the players believe in what he's doing. They are showing effort and not quitting when faced with adversity. The last few years down 31-7, those teams would have packed it in. Down by 18 to ND, they would have too. They didn't. We are just not very good but heart is coming back. Let him build this program and support the staff and team. The only ones that give up now are the fans.

Fireeee it up Mike! We play football really fast and loud in the state of Florida, this is what we need. I love these Noles, in fact these guys are very dear to my heart after that last loss. This season is the worst season in Nole History so far, the worst, every fanbase everywhere is laughing at these Noles, but you know what, it ain't as bad as I thought it would be. A few years ago if you asked me how It would be to experience a 4-6 season followed up by a 0-4 start I woulda thought I would be devastated and paperbagging it to work lol But tbh, I think Norvell and these Noles are getting very very unlucky in many facets, they are an 0-4 team that realistically should be a 2-2 team with only self-inflicted wounds away from a hard fought 4-0 (a little mental gymnastics there lol). Go Noles! This season and last season have made me a bigger fan of FSU Football than even the National title season, because I'm a sucker for an underdog story lol

This is laughable, you're in charge! Coach Norvell is working with house money AKA he can't be fired. He made the decision to bring in a QB with health issues. I am a die-hard Seminole fan and this team has more talent than is being displayed. The excuses are a bit much now its going to be a long season.
