Please watch our installation video to see how to fit correctly.Firstly, taking the wheel from the car does in our experience make fitting a lot harder. We do also advise that the wheel and tyre be sprayed with a mild soapy water. This acts as a lubricant and makes the fitting a far easier process. The cutters used are not suitable. On our fitting instructions and fitting video we suggest that the cutting is performed by cutting though the fatter end of the profile first.
It requires hitting the profile on the inside face. Again this is shown on our fitting video. Point 9 also tells you to repeat this process with 10-15 psi in the tyre. From what we can see, this has been missed out. Point 10 of our instructions was missed out on your fitting also. The joining cap has been applied to the profile whilst the tyre is totally deflated, again we do not advise fitting in this way at any point.
This enables you to cut though the AlloyGator profile with one easy cut. Once you have cut the profile correctly we do advise on point 8. And photograph No.9 of our instructions that you were working to, that you run a small amount of glue along the teeth between the two ends before joining together. Point 9 was missed out from the fitting, this ensures the profile is correctly seated all the way around the profile
Hi Darren, If you are truly looking to give an independent review on the 4 products, I’m sure you will not mind us commenting on your video post to assist both yourself and our many customers in the correct fitting of the AlloyGators. Having watched your video several times, we do feel it is important to point out that the fitting instructions have not been adhered to correctly during the installation.
Wow! Watched the Official Alloygator video before this! You missed out loads! And why would you use tinsnips to cut plastic? If your gonna do a review like others have said, at least install the product correctly! #gimp
AlloyGator are happy to work with genuine people and businesses looking to give an independent view. If you would like some assistance in the correct fitting we do have someone in your area that could happily assist.
Piece of advice, research the products, watch the official fitting videos, then practice.............. and then, and then ONLY contemplate picking up a camera and reviewing!
i have the alloy gators fitted to my 3series bmw. all was fine until i needed new tyres they did get the old gator back fitted to the new tyres but it took 2 hours and cost me £40 extra and now even worse i cant get wheel alignment done as the tool fitted to each wheel has to sit in the rim between alloy and tyre to get alignment correct i spoke to employee at two different tyre centre who use two different system but same problem the alloy gator website doesnt mention this in the faq NOT RIGHT!
Well you made a total hash of that. Try reading the instructions properly or looking at the official how to fit Alloy Gator video. This doesn't look like an unbiased independent test at all. In fact I'm guessing the next video will be you telling everyone how great rimringz are, much like the previous video where you spent a lot of time talking about the box they come in. YOU ARE MISLEADING, DECIEVEING AND INSULTING THE INTELLIGENCE OF YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS.
Why even bother doing an instruction video and get it so wrong! Wrong tools. Missed install steps. Made it look horrible when in fact it's the best on the market at present.
