I played this in March in a local youth orchestra, and I've got to say that I'm jealous that the strings have actually hard parts. I was in the trombone section (no, we did not get to play the second movement with the AWESOME trombone solo), and the hardest part was the unnecessary alto clef implementation, which was countered by writing the note names above. Anyway, my point is that I wish major orchestral pieces really challenged the low brass. And I am by no means saying that Scheherazade is bad. I just want a challenge.
