I find it incredibly, INCREDIBLY disappointing that this Vocaloid song was made in version one and not updated to version two or three or better sound quality. This is one of few songs made by practically anonymous composers on the Internet that I would consider worthy for being an orchestral score. It's really sad that the quality is incredibly low for the sound, when there are multiple orchestral and band parts, a beautiful vocal part, and an emotional backstory to the lyrics. It would make me immensely happy if someone were to update this song. Because, I mean; it's not plagiarism since you're just improving quality and not earning money.

You know, considering how young they were, I think that field they were in was a part of Heaven. Len and Rin were very young in this, they were so innocent, and they loved each other very much. *Storytime* When Len's soul was being lifted into Heaven, he noticed Rin at the hospital. He saw what condition she was in, and wanted to be by her side. But, he didn't want to see his beloved die right in front of him, so he waited in the fields. When Rin was in her final moments, she was holding on to Len's letter. He was her only tie to this world, the smile on her face meant she was ready to go. When Rin's soul was being lifted, she saw that Len wasn't at his usual spot. She saw his body being put on a pile of others. Rin was heart broken, and when she reached the fields of heaven, her heart filled with joy as she saw Len again. Her wish was answered, "Let me go to where he is." When Len saw Rin, he was at his happiest. Now, they're spending the rest of time in the fields, telling each other things they weren't ready to admit on paper.......

Honestly, every main character here is a victim. The Prisoner, the Daughter, even the Father. They all suffered because of circumstances which put them between rocks and hard places....or a fence and a gas chamber. Can't really hate the father THAT much because even though he could be considered the "villain" by ripping up the letters and killing off Len, he ironically brought them together in the afterlife by realizing his mistakes and handing the last letter to his daughter before death. And since he ordered Len dead...yea... In other words, the darkness which separated them brought them together again.

...That moment when you realize that Rin died of ALS. Think about it, her limbs slowly stopped working, and her internal organ system started shutting down. Too bad they didn't have the ice bucket challenge in the 1940's. :( And that harmony at the end...beautiful. It gave me chills.

I felt totally calm. I thought I would make it trough this video without crying. I was wrong. At first, I was totally okay, maybe a little sad. Then it got to the part when Rin's father was beating Len up. My eyes started to water. And then, Rin's father ripped the paper airplanes, I saw Len's face, and the tears fell. It wasn't envy. It was anger and a feeling of hopelessness. During that time, people like Len were generally thought of as the greatest evil alive. Rin's father, in desperation of seeing his daughter die slowly, needed someone - anyone - to lash out his sadness on. Rin got ill faster due to her trips out of the hospital, her father convinced himself that Len must have forced her with empty promises. So he took revenge. Right after Len hit him, though, he seemed to wake up from his crazed state and he realized what he had done. However, Len had already hit him. That was an open attack on an officer. If Rin's father would have protested against Len's inevitable punishment, he too would have been captured and severely handled. Not only him, but perhaps the rest of his remaining family as well, if he even had anyone left. He gave Rin that paper plane of Len's she dropped when her muscles had weakened too much to hold on to it, so that she could die with a memorial of someone dear to her. It was Rin's father's way to lastly beg her for forgiveness and his last request of wishing her a peaceful farewell. I understand the father's actions. He probably lost his wife, and was about to lose his daughter. He needed someone to blame, to lash out, to hurt. He simply couldn't handle his daughter dying like that. If I were in his shoes, I might have done the same. I wouldn't simply accept my child's fate, I would want revenge. Can we really blame him?

***** well, your facts make sense, but... we can blame him. if he's a good Nazi he wouldn't be thinking "hmm so that len forced my daughter to go there everyday, must KILL HIM. simple." and be like "wait who deh fk gave my daughter a letter? wait so thats why my daughter leaved the hospital everyday! must kill him so rin won't run away from the hospital again! simple." well if he didn't think like that, rin and len would be happy together already. he wouldn't be tearing len's letters apart, which... len punching him won't happen, he wouldn't die, and rin would not die too. (well i do understand that if he let len marry with her daughter they would be so dead... but... the rude history. not saying anything more now.)

siraphob Buahong Problem is, he WAS being a "good nazi". In that place, time and era, it was deemed alright to kill the appointed group that supposedly was to blame for all misfortune. (In this example, that'd be Len - a Jew - and Rin's father - a nazi officer -.) In their side's perspective, he was doing the right thing. The only reason why Rin and Len interacted the way they did was because they held the innocence of children. They didn't understand mistreatment against others, as they were still young and untrained in the cruel ways of politics and discrimination. The adults did know and acted accordingly, and the father did what he thought was right - and that what was in fact deemed right - especially - by the high ranking officers (sometimes even civilians were aware, but didn't mind) at the time. With this theme hanging around, the father's actions, regret and the end, the message of the song would be "don't put others below yourself, because eventually in death everyone is equal", or amongst those lines (Rin and Len meeting in the Afterlife - even though they probably had different world-views, they were able to look past that and still love one another). So, yes, in that time and era, with the practically brainwashed hatred for a specific group, a lot of parents would have done the same when confronted with the amount of sorrow, fear and anger Rin's father had been. I therefore cannot blame the man personally, even though his actions were wrong.

Fka Sugarhigh That's true, the Nazis mainly imprisoned jews, political prisoners, prisoners of war, homosexuals, and gypsies. So if one were to try to narrow down why it is that Len is in a concentration camp it would probably be because he (in this scenario) is a Jew or a gypsie (which is another group that went through a diaspora), But if one were to go by probability, in this song he is probably there because he is a Jew since Jews were the largest group persecuted by the Nazis in concentration camp...also sorry about the pointless long-winded rant,,,

I don't know why, but the saddest part for me was after Rin's death, when Rin and Len started singing in harmony. Especially when they sang " Mata ashita/Anoba sho de" (See you tomorrow/You know where), and I saw Len smiling so warmly at Rin... I also wonder if Rin knew that her father ordered Len's execution or how Len died...
