Rin and his friends successfully defeated the Impure King after his revival in Kyoto and have returned to their daily lives at True Cross Academy. However, the Knights of the True Cross begin receiving an increasing number of consultations about demons as a wave of strange events begins to spread across the world. Meanwhile, Rin and the other Exwires work to solve the mysterious phenomenon plaguing the school. But as the True Cross Academy Festival is in full swing, Lucifer, the King of Light and Commander-in- Chief of the Illuminati, suddenly appears. Lucifer declares war on the Knights of the True Cross - to resurrect the demon god Satan and rejoin the realm of humans, Assiah, and the realm of demons, Gehenna, as one. And to do so, he states that Izumo is necessary for a certain “plan.”

It took many years before I finally got to see this moment adapted to anime .❤️😭 Since the first season I've always found Izumo and Rin's relationship cute, plus how she always sympathized with him when she knew he was Satan's son and no one wanted to have him around.😢 How satisfying was that punch towards that pig that made Izumo cry and him taking out his will for emotionally hurting her.🛐 I will always love the relationship between Izumo and Rin.💜💙

Same. It’s makes me so sad that they are most likely not ending up together. It’s not even that they sympathize, they EMPATHIZE. They understand each other, and yet they aren’t getting together 🫤like why even put these scenes?

I confess that I always liked Rin with Shiemi, however, when Izumo was the only one who spoke normally to Rin on the train (after they discovered that he was Satan's offspring), I started rooting for them both.

I don't know why, but I feel like Rin & Izumo would have been better as a couple, because Shiemi always liked Yukio from the start, while she does like Rin, I get the feeling she likes him more as a friend, then as a boyfriend. Heck, Izumo was one of the only people who didn't mind Rin being a Satan's spawn and even though she doesn't show it much, she does care about him and didn't want him feel like he's all alone. And in this season, we learn that Izumo is also a demon in some way, and Rin is probably the only person who knows how it feels like being outcasted and treated like dirt, because of him being a demon as well.

Also explains why she’s the only one to defend him when everyone treated Rin horribly in S2. They empathize with each other. Shiemi and rin only sympathize.

Since season 1 there was always that cute spark when there is interaction of Izumo and Rin💜💙, they have that kind of relationship that you really like.🛐

Shinra: everything I know I learned from him from. Rin busting through the ceiling with his flames out reminds me when Shinra crashed through the ceiling and literally curb stomped Reka. But since Blue Exorcist predates Fire Force, hence my little comment.
