Barney loves looking outside. And grooming Dad. Also giving him little kisses. And can even take messages from the phone all the while...hehe. love the wonderful Barney 🥰☺
Our handsome, clever Barney definitely can keep a conversation going. He certainly loved Dad's shirt. Just when you think our boy can't get any cuter... Hoping that Dad Tim, and our sweet lad enjoy a relaxing evening. 🏡🙏🏻🤍🧡💛🤍💘💘🌆

He’s free to make as much noise as he wants. The only time I remember it being too much, we were in the truck on the ferry. He could see people and it was non stop ringing. I just put ear plugs in, glad I always keep a set. It’s very loud in the confines of a vehicle
You’re the first person that noticed or said anything about it being based on the periodic table. I don’t think it shows completely, but it says cockatoo using the elements letters. Have a great day! 🧡💚💖💙
@@barneythewestcoastcockatoo Hey! 🩷💖🧡🧡💚 Thanks 😁! I liked this shirt from the beginning! Precisely for this reason. I think it's a great joke using the symbols of chemical elements 👍! Back in school, during chemistry lessons, I had to learn all of them by heart! You know, you can spell Barney's name this way: B - Ar - Ne - Y 🧡
@@barneythewestcoastcockatooWell, welcome to the club 😅! I had three "favorite" subjects: chemistry, physics and mathematics 😱. I'm a hopeless humanist....
Just our write up, which isn’t as detailed on our channel here as it is on Facebook. Not as much room here. This is the facebook one - Barney is a social media superstar whose focus is to bring smiles and happiness to all. Barney is a Moluccan Cockatoo who was hatched in Canada in 1994. In 2006 his third human family was downsizing and he was sent to The World Parrot Refuge in Coombs. After the death of the refuge founder in February 2016, a rescue effort was led by Night Owl Bird Hospital and Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary. This turned out to be Canada's largest animal rescue and possibly the largest in North America. Approximately 600 parrots were rescued at that time. Surviving for 10 years at the refuge, Barney was part of this rescue effort. Almost three years he spent with Greyhaven awaiting his new family and forever home. Barney is a very energetic, funny, engaging and attention demanding male Moluccan Cockatoo and was a favourite amongst the volunteers and visitors at the Greyhaven shelter. Barney's Dad has had many large birds since 2002, and after a divorce kept a single male Moluccan named Teeka. Teeka was special needs with a lot of health and self mutilation problems. Dad saved Teeka's life many times, but unfortunately lost him in the fall of 2018. Not really ready for another bird, Dad started looking for another Moluccan, expecting it to take a few years to find the right one. Soon into the search Dad saw a video from Greyhaven with Barney in it. Dad instantly fell in love and had to meet this bird. Dad and Barney first met in November 2018, and we both knew we had found each other. It took a while for the application to be approved, and once it had been there was someone else interested in adopting Barney and he was being held for them. Dad was devastated. Continuing the process of looking for another bird, Dad went to the shelter around Christmas 2018. Happy news! The other person wasn't qualified enough to take on a Barney who was quite wild at the time, so he was once more available! I visited him a few times while I was down there, and we really hit it off. I wasn't approved for adoption yet until a home visit was performed, but Barney was being officially held for me. The approval finally went through and I came back at the end of January to bring Barney home. Barney was adopted to his new forever home on January 30 2019 where he lives with his Dad on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada
