We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ru-vid.comUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
my bridge will not find my wifi signal I have tried everything from rebooting my modem to reseting my bridge several times and still nothing very frustating. and trust me i have tried everything even calling ring but nothing works.
Anyone with this bulb have any issues with the bulb following a schedule? I have a wyze bulb and for the last 2 months now it has gotten finicky at times.
Thanks for the demo! 2 questions: 1) Can you program the bulbs to adjust brightness when they detect motion? For example, I'd like have them pretty dim overnight, but to brighten when motion is detected by the doorbell. 2) Is there a way to get them to work with another company's smartbulb? I'd like a full color bulb, but Ring doesn't seem to offer one.
Actually yes and no. You can program them to be dim, as low as 10% brightness and when a device detect motion they will brighten up to 100% or what ever level you have program them to. You have to have the Ring Bridge and link it to that device. How do I know this, because all my outdoor lighting is set to do this. As far as worrying with another system I don’t know.
If you look at app the wifi signal can be viewed. A WiFi mesh system will work. I have a motion sensor in my garage that sits out in the back of house. I put the extender out there to help with that one place. Not earth breaking signal return to the base station but its ok. I like the battery powered stickup cams. I have 4 of them. Work great. Alarm add-on's are priced quite high for what they are.
I've been following your channel here for a while now we're building a brand new house and I want to make it as smart as possible. I have a question for you then maybe you could make a video on. Is there a way to make your house smart without having it hooked up to the Internet? We don't know what kind of Internet service we're going to have out in the country. Like I said it's a brand new house was not moved in yet. So that's why I asked this question. I realize I could not do anything without being in the house from my cellular phone. Without an internet connection but can we run other stuff in the house. Thank you very much I enjoy your videos very informative and I purchased a lot of things just because you said to
I'm focused on having just one app. And although the kit seems great I just don't know if it would be worth the two lights I will only use for my porch. Great review by the way you have answered all the questions the website didn't answer for me. 👍
I want to buy these, but are they motion sensor only? If I need 2 only, do I need the bridge? I’m looking for light bulbs that I can turn on from my cellphone before I get home at night and be able to turn them off.
Great demo. Is there a way to set up the porch ring with the Ring doorbell so the lightbulb activates when it detects motion but only after dark? It seems as if the light coming on during the daylight hours would signal that I'm not home. I want bad guys to think I am home, not that I have a signal for them to break in.
I 'm in the Ring eco system. But the bulbs are nothing special. No color mode change. Just a over priced bulb. Plain led smartbulb. The bridge is doing all the work. Not happy for the price paid.
Hi guys, I have question about Ring Bridge. Does the Bridge works without having any Ring Light products. I need my Ring Video doorbell to start recording a little faster by installing a Ring Motion Sensor that detects motions few metres away, sends signal to the Ring App by connecting to Ring Bridge. Will this works without any Ring Light products?
Where’s the setting to adjust how long the light bulbs stay on after motion is detected - (by being linked to cameras)? There used to be a setting for it, but now I can’t find it. Did they remove it? Thanks
I have got the Philip security lights and they work with Amazon fine And I have the Amazon ring cameras They are great because they are where there is no power Point That’s why I’ve got them stay safe
Good review. I am a Ring Alarm subscriber and would love to keep all my smart cameras and light in the same ecosystem for simplicity. Just wish Rings light where color changing. That would seal it for me getting them.
Can you get them to stay on for a few hours on a schedule or are they only motion activated? I have mine linked to a sensor so they are not staying on except for a few minutes when motion is detected.
What's reallllly stupid is the ring bridge is simply a 2.4ghz wifi "bridge" to zigbee, but the Ring alarm COMES with an even more attractive, easy all-in-one unit you just plug in rather than power brick > usb > bridge that is ALSO a 2.4ghz to Zigbee controller but, nooooo, can't have the lights use the same fucking controller, so if you have the alarm already you still need to buy the f*@cking bridge. Smgdh
Also, as many people online experienced the same as me, my first bridge shit the bed when doing setup and requiring an update: Full brick. Reset and nothing worked. I _LOVE_ my entire integrated Ring ecosystem as I had been following since their acquisition of Mr. Beams for exactly this, but even though they delayed launching Mr Beams products over a year from their committed launch date, my happiness still outweighs where I'm upset with many issues. As we speak my alarm has a stupid issue of not being in DIRECT shot of the alarm bridge and will lose connection.... 18ft away. So stupid, but also, nothing has this level of complete integration: I have multiple motion sensors that trigger MANY yard lights, then a few closer motion sensors which trigger a few floodlamps and A18 bulbs, multiple stick up cams triggered by even my furtherest motion sensors, few step lights motion activated of course, two doorbell cams for two sort of equally main doors (garage entry at driveway and actual front door), few interior cameras to confirm in court should need-be an person actually entering, and then finally the alarm itself. Fucking love that, just really look forward to quality all-around improving a bit.
I thought the Ring Alarm system used Z-wave? Even so, Amazon / Ring should have just used Z-wave in these lights, and if they decided to use Zigbee, then the designated method of connection should have been to use an Amazon Echo device with a Zigbee radio.
