In the summer of 1275, the pope granted the monks the opportunity to build a new church in Verona, replacing the crumbling building constructed after the earthquake. The church was completed thanks to donations from nobles and citizens, who were very close to the Augustinians. The elegant Gothic bell tower was completed in 1430, as attested by a marble plaque. In 1886 Verona was struck by a cholera epidemic, which prompted people to make a solemn vow to Our Lady of Health. The faithful of this parish were the only ones spared from this terrible evil and in gratitude they recast the old bells in a new concert, blessed by the bishop in 1886.

In 1949, the bell tower was equipped with a sixth bell, replacing the wooden structure with a new iron support. The concert in the musical scale of F major weighs a total of 1834 kg of bronze. The bells have strings and are rung by one of the best teams in the province, during the afternoon event on the eve of Pentecost.
The first church dedicated to St Euphemia was built on the ancient Roman road, as attested by maps. In 1117, the village was hit by a devastating earthquake, which severely damaged all buildings in northern Italy. The church was inaugurated in 1140, built with makeshift material that caused some subsidence in the mid-13th century. The duke of the city chose to move the Augustinian monks to this church, which was demolished in 1270 to make room for the new large monastery. The church was completed in the 14th century and barbarously ruined four centuries later with the covering of the old wooden trusses. The monastic community was suppressed by the French in 1807 and the church passed to the diocese. The valuable masonry work enabled the church to withstand the tremendous explosion that blew up the nearby bridge in 1945.
