He was also a creatively gifted musician who made MANY of the Beatles tunes what they were. I could name so many. Ticket to Ride comes to mind. Without Ringo Starr, just a silly tune. With him, a masterpiece.
@@curandero88 His drumming on Rain is pretty fucking tasteful and I love him. But I've heard he can be a bit of a dick. And this is coming from a person who worships the Beatles and think they were the greatest thing to ever happen to me, outside of my family. And by family, my beautiful dogs are included.
A family friend showed me Meet The Beatles for the first time, and I just fell in love with them. What I find interesting is how Ringo was the stand out, and I wanted to play drums, not the guitar or to be a singer. Christ I loved that those guys.
Ringo said it best when he said " I was an orphan and yet I had 3 brothers who loved me " God Bless them All for all the love and happiness that they brought to us over the years ,
when Ringo sang "within and without you" i coudnt hold my tears no more ..its actually a phrase that George used in an interview with Ringo to describe John's spirit living among us
@@gregbernstein6430 i'M GLAD.... and they were sort of kept down in the group but George really came thru later....glad they were friends....imagine what they did together,,,,lol????
@@tylerhunt2228 I don't think that effected their friendship. Ringo was cheating on Maureen at the time. When George was on hs death bed Ringo went to see him. If you hear Ringo's interview about that it proves my point.
why the sad emojis for George???? "There'll come a time when most of us return here Brought back by our desire to be a perfect entity Living through a million years of crying Until you realize the Art of Dying."- George Harrison He's doing fine
Bob Terryson we just miss him homie, that’s all. but ur right, i’m sure wherever he is, he’s doing good🙏🏻 he was certainly ready, anyway. glad he isn’t in anymore pain, that’s for sure.
Watching the Beatles is like watching a family that we have all been part of for decades. Almost 60 years on their music is as powerful as ever and the loss of George and John feels like a personal tragedy.
@@emreeroglu9331 Without a doubt they are! His song makes eloquent reference to each. I voice an opinion, but I failed to honorable mention these other two great tributes, thank you for helping me do that!
Me too RINGO makes me smile ear to ear, Everytime I watched a beatle video I always jump up and down because of him and Paul. Lol just a fun fact just want to share it.😆😆
Yes. This one and "Free as a bird" drive to tears automatically, when you see, the ukulele player in the end. Those fantastic boys started with hungry for the scenary, to get famous and rich, but never suspected they were going to change millions of lives, those days and nowadays. They never knew they were touching hearts so deeply.
I think most people don't realize that it was George who recruited Ringo to join the Beatles. As a result, they spent a lot of time rooming together on the road. Also not a coincidence they played on each others solo records.
I was 9 when the Beatles hit America. All of my friends fell madly in love with Paul McCartney. Me? It was George from the first time I saw them on the Ed Sullivan show. I'm now 66 and he's now gone, but my admiration for him has never wavered. I'm glad George and Ringo were as close as brothers. I know Ringo must miss him.
John and George’s deaths sent a shockwave around the world that nine of us expected same thing will happen when ringo and Paul’s deaths will come R.I.P
In 1968, when I was 8, I had a crush on George. I don't know how many hours I laid on my floor, listening to Beatles' records, staring at my huge poster of George and the other posters of the Beatles, day-dreaming of the day I'd marry George & we'd live happily ever after in his estate in England. It won't happen in this life, but when I pass, I'll queue up in the line to marry George in the next life, although I suspect he'll have moved on to Nirvana by that time. He has subconsciously influenced so many aspects of my life.
Yes! Lennon was the brains, McCartney, the love, George, the spirit and Ringo, the humour. The Fab Four: A musical group chemistry few have equalled let alone surpassed.
@@lauriejanes6511 Never have and never will. I went to a bootleg Beatles gig 2 years ago and there were dozens of kids and youngsters singing the greats it was warming to the heart.
MY FAVORITE BEATLE, WAS ALWAYS GEORGE HARRISON. I'm not just saying it because of this wonderful tribute from wonderful Ringo, but truly, he was my favorite, so handsome, so talented, he lived under John & Paul's shadows, but he now shines so bright like a star. RIP George, you too John. Thank you soooo much Ringo, so talented. Sorry about your close friend George, we miss him too.
@@simonlee7780 Local fans in Liverpool were angry that they replaced Pete Best with Ringo. There was a scuffle outside the club at Ringo's first appearance with them. George got a black eye. If you watch an old film of that, you will notice George turned to the side while playing on stage, but if you look close, you can see his black eye.
@@chrismacdonald7955 Never new that mate. Thanks. The way Pete best was portrayed in Birth of The Beatles, he seemed quiet and dare I say not as lively as Ringo and the other Fab 3 .
George helped Ringo get his solo career started by writing and playing on his songs. George wrote It don't come easy for Ringo and later recorded it himself. George Harrison was by far the most talented Beatle and one of the most underrated guitar players of our time. Without George there wouldn't have been a Beatles. His riffs in Beatle songs became some of the most classic in music history. The world misses George Harrison...Music misses George Harrison!
I love George Harrison, his music and his belief system. His guitar grew and grew over the Fab years into a thing of great beauty. I must say, however, that Paul McCartney was - and is - not only the most talented Beatle but the most talented popular musician of the last hundred years. It was a cosmic slot machine that gave us four geniuses in a backwater seaport and the coins spill out to this day. We'll not see the likes of them again in our lifetime.
@@tms6279 it all about John first, without him there is no beatles, NO. Absolitely NO BESTLES.. u can say Paul the genius one or George was the kind one, but its all about John if you said about beatles.
@@tms6279 Yes, Paul was very talented, particularly as a songwriter, but, certainly NOT the ' most talented popular musician of the last hundred years.' - that title belongs to the one. the only - Elvis!
Thank you Ringo! RIP George and John! Still crying ...... "The thing is, we're all really the same person. We're just four parts of the one." Paul Mccartney - Love you all!
Well, yes, but Paul only started consistently touting that four-sides-of-the-square message *after* George's death. Before then, he was obsessed with the McCartney-Lennon songwriting thing and being recognised as the true Beatles avant-gardist (rather than John) - as Ringo said just before the Concert for George in '02, Paul was being "under-handed" in his self-interest. I don't want to take away from the spirit of your message, but Paul McCartney's statements are always, and always have been, very calculated and agenda-based. Ringo, on the other hand, just transcends these issues: it all happened, and he's not really bothered about what anyone else thinks. Which is just one reason he was so vital to the Beatles whole.
You can hear the pain in his voice. Ringo and George were extremely close. I read somewhere that when ringo heard about his George passing he just bursted into tears. I actually think ringo hasn’t gotten over his death yet. Since he actually said that he finds talking about George extremely difficult.
Ringo knew George since they were really young. And it was George who encouraged the other Beatles to let Ringo join their band. So of course Ringo won’t get over his loss any time soon; he may take that to his grave.
What great pals they were and still are in their souls. Great song to acknowledge the brotherly love between them. A lovely tribute and the footage of the both of them really goes a long way to show how close they were. Priceless!! Ringo really knew George's worth. 💜✌
@@cindycavylover123 there's this interview (idr which) where george is talking about his friendship with eric clapton and almost _cheerfully_ he says "we shared a wife!" and its really funny (and this song is about george, so)

Grrreat pun! Here comes the song = Here comes the sun! Ha ha ha! He he he. Ho ho ho! And to think that the drummer for Led Zeppelin threw George and Patty in a swimming pool at a 1970s party, once. All things must pass. All things must pass away!
Fantastic video! and a beautiful song by Ringo for his beautiful friend and brother!,...love & miss you George,... and yes, your song lives on,..we're never without you! xx
Ringo is so underrated. First he made this. Then he did a cover of Johns Grow Old With Me. John and Paul were the artists of the group but Ringo and George were the heart.
LOVE THIS.. SO MUCH.. BORN IN *73*, BUT MY PARENTS BORN IN *50*... grew up with their music... THE BEST BAND EVER... ... I TURN 50 in 2 and half weeks.. and tell you honestly. the beatles still going on in my family... we love the peace and love RINGO... we will keep it going
A beautiful and fitting tribute to George. It touched my heart. Thank you George for your incredible talent, sensor of humour and wisdom. We all love and miss you! Rock on Georgey! 😊 😎 g🎸
Rest In Peace George Harrison Your music has brought so much joy to my life and this song reminds me how much I (and the world) miss you. May you rest in eternal peace Mr. Harrison
What a beautiful tribute to the best of friends. I recently read a biography of Harrison. He loved Ringo. Really loved him. He said Ringo delivered the best back beat of any drummer in the business. Ringo said that he was visiting George at the very end. Days away. Ringo had to leave after a time to go tend to his daughter in New York (they were in England) as she was having surgery. George said, "You want me to go with you?" A real offer made from his deathbed. That's friendship. Rest in Peace George.
An absolutely beautiful loving tribute to George from Ringo. Pure Beatles. It made me cry very hard. You see, I'm a 1st generation Beatles fan. I watched them on The Ed Sullivan Show when I was 11 years old. I instantly changed for the better.
Great song and a great tribute to George. I've just heard it for the first time. You get the feeling that Ringo and George were best friends, in part because of the understandable focus on the Lennon-McCartney partnership. The Beatles wouldn't have been the Beatles without George and Ringo!
This touches my heart. So beautiful. Touches me in a way that not all songs do. Written from Ringos heart. I’ve always loved George, since I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are of me listening to his music on my parents computer, with the biggest smile on my face, heart, and soul. Especially “Here Comes The Sun” George was like the sun, bright and full of Love and light that shined through his beautiful music. George was a beautiful man with a Beautiful Soul. Thank you, George. “With Our Love we Could Save The World” -George Harrison “Within Without You” Peace and Love to all 💜💜💜
I remember when my brothers and I used to imitate the Beatles Everytime we would see them on TV, I being the oldest always said I was George my brother Carlos was John, my brother Paul was Paul and my brother Fernando was Ringo, and I memorized all their songs, good times indeed.👍👍
Eighteen years ago today George passed away. I miss him so deeply, and love him so dearly. #cryinginclasshelp. Fly high you pure soul, I love you so much George. May you forever live on in my heart, in our hearts.
These two were the closet of the Beatles, true brothers in the experience, with a true manly love for each other. Danhi calls him "Uncle Ringo", which tells us something in depth. This is a beautiful song about two beautiful human beings. Love you, Ringo. Love you George, Love you, John and Paul. Never without you.
Yes, it is just this way: we are fortunate beyond the telling of it that we get to keep the music for always. Thanks and ever thanks to Ringo, George, Paul and John.
Finally the best has been kept for last. The truest and most precious tribute to the late magnificent George Harrison. Belated birthday wishes to you Ringo, 81 years young. Blessings of joy, peace and happiness !
I keep coming back to this song. Always appreciated Ringo as a great drummer. THE only drummer for The Beatles but god this song is so great and his delivery is superb. Love you.
This haunts me in a good way. Ringo’s not afraid to show his depth of heart and love for George. Im sure having known George that Ringo knows there’s a reason they were brought together for such an intense beginning. What a relationship over the years as they matured. George smiles
