Gonna take a sentimental journey Gonna set my heart at ease Gonna make a sentimental journey To renew old memories Got my bag, got my reservation Spent each dime I could afford Like a child in wild anticipation Long to hear that "All aboard" Seven, that's the time we leave, at seven I'll be waitin' up for heaven Countin' every mile of railroad track That takes me back Never thought my heart could be so 'yearny' Why did I decide to roam? Gotta take that sentimental journey Sentimental journey home, Sentimental journey!
Dear Lara G: Genesis reverence doesn't compare to the Beatles; however, Phil Collins, in his generation was much more effective and prominent than Ringo is as a solo artist. I enjoy the psychology of someone emerging from the background to the foreground -- becoming a star -- especially Collins, who came from the weird and extremely technical prog-rock era.
@@osamabinladen824 Critics do. Throughout Ringo's career, critics bathed him in reviews saying he was a terrible singer. That's why the songs which he sings well are underrated, because they go against the ratings given to him.
Heard this song for the first time last week on a radio show that plays Beatles every Saturday. Fell in love with how he sang this old song. Thanks Ringo. Luv all your stuff.
Very well arranged, in a way that makes the most of all the instruments and singers, especially Ringo. This album was reviled upon its release, but it shows how underrated Ringo was as a singer. Bravo, Ringo!
I love Ringo. And i could not believe when I found this album with this song. Because this song meant a lot to me. Full of memories of my childhood. I bought the album and all tracks are delicious.
Browsing for an original track of Sentimental Journey as played on Dave Garroway's Today Show, i stumbled across Ringo's rendition. I was delighted: my favorite Beatle and a wistful song done so well by him. God Bless Dave Garroway. Godspeed Ringo!
He has the showman quality of a casual lounge singer, destined to share the show for years to come. Fun lighthearted, comical-sometimes have to be quick to get it. BY the time you got it, it's gone. Because he's sly, witty, and matter of fact about it all.
This is so adorable. I love his voice too! He has a huge range. I'm pretty sure Yellow Submarine was written as to not have such a range, cause Paul thought he couldn't reach the high and low notes. (Just what I've read don't quote me on that) but his voice fits this music so well!
I had a copy of the Lp; I had read about Ringo making a Country Lp, and didn't realize "Journey" wasn't it until later, when "Beaucoups of Blues" was released 😒; but I liked both albums (a lot );
I have to remember mr start peace and love .not curse or use bad phrases. You are the one who inspired me to be peaceful I have to be 100 % peaceful from 98 %.
