Rings of Power HONEST Reviews are SAVAGE 

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power honest reviews are out and they are FAR worse than I ever expected. Critics normally fawn over this stuff just like they have on rotten tomatoes, but even Entertainment Weekly who have marketing Rings of Power for MONTHS ripped it apart. What do you think of the reviews so far? Did you expect they would be this scathing about the first 2 episodes of Rings of Power? In the Land of Amazon, in the fires of Mount Prime, the Dark Lord Bezos forged in secret a massive flop. And into this show he poured his money, his malice and his will to dominate all shows. One show to ruin them all, one show to bind them, in the Land of Amazon where the shadows lie.

Peter Jackson, interviewed in GreenCine December 2002: "There are certainly themes Tolkien felt were important. We made a promise to ourselves at the beginning of the process that we weren't going to put any of our own politics, our own messages or our own themes into these movies. What we were trying to do was to analyze what was important to Tolkien and to try to honor that. In a way, were trying to make these films for him, not for ourselves." Lindsey Weber, Executive Producer of Amazon's "Rings of Power", interviewed in Vanity Fair February 2022: "It felt only natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien's work would reflect what the world actually looks like." I think, that tells it all.

Trying to appeal to Tolkien fans, without following a Tolkien story, is like trying to scuba dive without oxygen.

As someone who's read the Silmarillion many times, this whole thing makes me ill. The only good thing about it is the fans standing strong against it and the videos about it taking the piss.

My favourite part was when Sauron said ‘How did you find me?!’ And Galadriel replied, ‘Nenya business!’ and all looked upon her and despaired.

I loved the scene were Sauron asked Optimus Prime "is that an big wrench in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" I cried, so stunning and brave.

I like the part where Galadriel was told the armor was perfect and she said “It will be…. when it fits a woman.”

When Galadriel said "The cold never bothered me anyway", I cried, such a powerful scene.

when John Wick told Galadriel "with great power comes great resposibilities" I knew, this show is something truly remarkable

I died laughing when Galadriel walks in to the Kitchen and catches Elrond with the Apple Pie.

The part where Gala-triel said: "You are a wizard, Optimus prime", left me speechless

The most chilling scene to me was when the witch king of angmar informed sauron that steiner didn't attack, and then sauron shouted "DAS WAR EIN BEFEHL"

The Lord of the Rings was deeply rooted in Anglo-Saxon history and mythology. Tolkien was a professor of Anglo-Saxon history and had a deep love and knowledge of his subject. He stayed true to the roots of this culture and that is where the magic lies. European folklore is in our DNA and that is why Lord of the Rings was so stirring. Messing with this ancient blend of history and mythology strips it of its authenticity and as a result its magic.

I got chills when Thrall summoned Mjolnir and screamed: This is Sparta!

Tolkien had a whole world with mythology, history, languages and lore. For lovers of Tolkien, this 'adaptation' is an abomination. "Into the pit from whence you came".

When galadriel stood on her horse and starting riding it like a surfboard proceeding to say "it's gil galadin time" I truly felt it. One of the shows ever.

Loved it when Galadriel scales the Ice Wall to fight the wildlings and night walkers. What a moment when Helbrant tell her "you know nothing"

I loved how Princess Disa whispered in her husband's ear "I'm the first female dwarf on screen". To which he replied "Huh, sorry honey but there were about 6-7 female dwarfs seen before your character was first seen on screen". That was priceless! She's not even the first female dwarf on screen in her own series.

My favorite scene was when Galadriel lifted up two swords and said "And I am all of the Jedi" as she stabbed Sauron in the balls. Truly a tv series on Amazon. One of the shows of all time

When Guyladrrriel stood up to address the diverse Numeroneans she prefaced her speech with an audible fart. Her first words to the crowd were "There was a tempest in me." So stunning and brave.

I loved the part when everyone bowed down to Sauron, including the dark lord Bezos and he placed a ring of power on each one of their fingers and handed them each a glass of a wine and said "Drink, this is my blood."

When Morbius appeared in Episode 2 I completely lost it. What a great series.

The fact that they fired the Tolkien expert early in because he did not want to make it "Lord of the Woke" should tell you everything.

We watch Shakespeare in the park with invisible props and love it. We listen to books on tape and nothing but a disembodied voice can transport us to another world. Great visuals are meaningless if the story isn't any good.

When Galadriel said: "I'm the captain now!", and then jumped into the middle of an ocean left me speechless.

It blows my mind how boring a show that looks THIS good is. It does look amazing. And thats where it stops. House of the dragon's open and follow up episode were completely encapsulating, and it was 80% politics and dialogue. Writing matters! Acting matters!

When Galadriel said "Hello. My name is Galadriel. You killed my father. Prepare to die" it was iconic and one for the ages.

I like your 'deconstruction' theory. For several years i've been wondering if studios are replacing writers with AI that just slams together elements of previously profitable movies (and now shows).

I believe The Rings of Power is an excellent example of “The decline and fall of the “Hollywoke” empire” described by An American Spectator article published in February of this year. The author summed it up beautifully. “It is painful to watch an art form die, especially the most popular one in history. Cinema has enthralled more people, across every stratum of society, than all others combined…With an appreciative audience still awaiting, Hollywood might have outlasted the Roman Empire. But like Rome, it is rotting from the inside, sacked by leftist hacks who could never have built it.” Priceless!

The best part is when Galadriel gets herself captured (on purpose, of course) and she's like: "None of you seem to understand. I’m not locked in here with you. You’re locked in here with me!". 10/10 Yas queen slay!

My favorite part was went Galadriel went up to Sauron and said "I need to speak to the Woman in charge."I stood up and clapped.

That bit where Lori Lightfoot screamed, "Get to da chopper!"... so deep, so insightful, so Tolkien.

I got chills when Galadriel decided to try and swim hundreds of kilometers after jumping out of a boat... Wait, that did actually happen :// can't tell what's real and not anymore

It boggles my mind how they can fuck this show up. Galadriel from LOTR is one of the most powerful female characters I've ever seen on screen. Like her scene from Fellowship with Frodo still gives me chills. And then you give us THIS wannabe? It's like they think the only way a female can be strong is if they can swing a sword.

I really seriously think that if the Koreans had the rights to LOTR, they would have made a better show. Their movie and TV industry is really very sophisticated nowadays, and sometimes it surpasses Hollywood.

Even Jeremy Jans, a US citizen who doesn’t play culture wars and who (naturally) doesn’t come with a British sensibility, someone who normally has a positive take, the best he could say was that the first 2 episodes were boring and he didn’t think he’d review the rest. What is perplexing is that Amazon recently delivered the excellent Reacher and apparently has done well with The Boys. How could they drop the ball to this extent?

When Gandalf stood in front of all those Imperial walkers and pulled out the Glaive, and said "It's Elvin Time!!", I lost it. Such a beautiful interpretation of the story.

The part when Elrond proclaimed, “Be excellent to each other!” and Sauron added, “Party on, dude!” and then Galadriel retorted, screaming “This… is… SPARTA!” and morbed them into the pit was breathtaking! Tolkien could not have even done it better!

When Cirdan the shipwright says after a long journey at sea, "I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", classic, meta, intense. Or when the female orc boss, after slaying an elf, says, "Leave the sword. Take the canoli". . . transcends culture and time in one fell swoop. Daring and brilliant.

I really got chills when Elrond angrily replied to Galadriel "I am the danger, I am the one who knows!" and just walks off to take a shower.

I loved it when Galadriel said :''Chaos isn’t a pit. chaos is a ladder. many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. the fall breaks them. and some are given a chance to climb, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. only the ladder is real. the climb is all there is.''.

I will never forgive turning one of my favorite female characters, who never resorted to the sword, who learned at the knee of Melian the Maia, who passed the ultimate test of will which Gandalf himself feared and avoided, into Xena warrior princess in dollar store armor. A dirty litter box, in a dumpster, that is on fire, floating down a shite stained river?

When Galadriel watched in horror as the blue-haired female(?) zombie hoard began ripping Luke Skywalker, the Terminator and Dr. Who apart while Captain America was telling her, “RUN!” I got chills because I knew shit was going DOWN. And then I was out of my seat when Kevin Fiege appeared and said, “Its Morbin time!”

I love the part where guyladriel says to sauron (sorry halbrand) "I am your father". So brave and progressive.

I loved the part when Elanor Brandyfoot said, "It's Nori'n Time!" So spine-chilling.

A lot of the critics had no other choice than being honest. There is so much scrutiny on this that it'll be obvious if they lie and they lose all credibility.

Disparu you have been absolutely killing it lately with your RoP coverage! Keep on hustling and I think you'll be over 100k soon. What I have appreciated in particular is the detail in which you have broken down the corporate shill narratives. You get into their thinly disguised motivations, you expose the spin and the absurdity of their underlying ideology, and explain the nuanced arguments of why fans of Tolkien don't like this. Keep it up! I suggest collaborating with George The Giant Slayer sometime, since 1) you two will both be covering this extensively anyways 2) you're both pretty passionate and eloquent about this topic in particular and 3) you're both relatively new youtubers. You newer content creators don't always have to go on the bigger channels when there's loads of other guests on them as well, and I think you could draw a lot of people in just because both of you crush in your coverage of this topic. And I like seeing loads of competition in this vidya niche as a spectator. 😉

I love how that when there is finally a cue that the enemy exists, Galadriels companions all just throw in the towel. It’s like, why were they chosen in the first place? Was their fortitude always limp noodle?

The last line says it all. "the genie is out of the bottle and it's not gong back in". Exactly. It might change the movie critic industry for the best. Even the shills are at risk trying to hide behind this one.

They aimed to fly too close to the sun. Tolkien wrote in the style of a poetic epic, they just wanted to put in some fortune cookie depth and call it a day

The Times: "Despite the inventiveness that the creators have had to deploy to populate Tolkien’s world with fresh, non-canonical characters, the whole thing has the vibe of terrified executives carrying an exceedingly expensive vase across a slippery floor." LOL.

The bit where Sauron walks in, stunned, covered in some sort of dust, and says "we are leaving this house in 60 seconds..."

I want to sue Amazon for cultural appropriation - LOTR is explicitly a British mythology whereas 'The Rings of Girl-Power' is as American as diversity quotas.

OMG, when Boromir looked at Merry and Pippin and said, "Never tell me the odds." Absolutely moving.

When Galadriel told Elrond she wanted to speak with his manager, I clapped with joy Yas queen slay

It comes as no surprise that many people have mixed feelings about this. Having personally grown up loving the books, movies (including the cartoons) and video games of the Lord of the rings, I am both very happy and very sad that Amazon's series is tanking. When the first news came out that Amazon was making a lotr series, I was ecstatic. I thought there was finally going to be a series about my absolute favorite fantasy universe that I could binge for years to come. Then I among many others learned what they were going to *do* with my favorite universe. So I'm happy that Amazon is failing, and that they're showing their colors by lashing out at the fan base, but I am saddened at what could have been the best television series to come out turning into another lecture show

I've struggled to even find one scene so far where I felt invested in this show

My favorite part is when Smeagol's unknown sister, Logaems, entered the opening scene and killed it with the iconic line, _"This is my boomstick!"_ The _Turds of Powah_ has positively, absolutely given my small bigoted mind explosive diarrhea with its astronomically profound writing!

You know you've lost the mainstream when Entertainment Weekly feels free to not be nice to your show. I think even mainstream sources feel free to not be nice to the show because they've read the room and know that people clearly aren't buying what the creators of the show are selling and that they'll lose credibility if they don't tell it like it is, so I guess you and I have reached the same conclusion.

I always find it funny that one of the most amazing thing about a woman, the ability to give birth to another human being, is never so much as talked about in these shows and their strong women message.

My favorite scene was when Galadriel knocks out Kamaru Usman with that head kick in the 5th round. It was just how Tolkien wrote it. Masterful.

I almost cried when Sauron said "you being a woman must mean you're not a man". Just fantastic!

It really hurts as a Tolkien Fan. I want to love it. I want to love the amazing and beautiful cinematography. Which I do. However, I cannot ignore at the same time, the horrid writing, the horrid portrayal of chars, the horrid lore changes, and the horrid betrayal towards Tolkein. I almost wish everyone was silent, and I just got to see the cities, boats, mountains, etc. And that was it. At this point, that would of made a better show than what I watched.

Great points! Limiting diversity can be a good thing! I feel like the homogenous races of Tolkien's Middle Earth actually ADDS to the adventurous and epic feel. We are dealing with a limited amount of lands and their history. It only makes sense that their races would more or less be characteristically limited in variety. The same can be observed in ancient mythological and religious texts. The Greeks used themselves as the reference point, and explained their sorrounding neighbors secondarily---showing a limited view of the world. The same can be seen even in something like the book of Genesis, wherein chap. 10 the families of the sons of Noah are enumerated. Obviously, the natives of America, the aborigines of Australia, heck---even the vast populations of the Far East are not reckoned up in Gen. 10. In both cases, it is obvious that there were MANY peoples who an ancient Greek or Semite was no doubt in ignorance of. And so they aren't mentioned. So it is with Tolkien's world! The less we know about far off lands, the more adventure and wonder can be given to the story. And all the more so since the stories in Rings of Power are supposed to be events much, much older than the events of the trilogy proper. It would make even more sense for the various kingdoms to be even more isolated and more or less homogenous. Finally, I think it's important for STORY and CHARACTER---and everything concerning those---to be the main focus. Diversity for its own sake isn't bad per se, but adding diversity soley to appease modern expectations only diminishes a world as carefully crafted as Tolkien's. A lot of people complained about Angrboda's appearance in the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok. But it's quite obvious that her darkskinned appearance is a subtle set-up for Kratos and Atreus eventually heading to Egypt in future titles. Her appearance ADDS to the world. It subtly hints that she isn't of the Nordic lands and keeps the intrigue of Kratos and Atreus' next journeys in motion. I feel like diversity can be good. But It can only be "good" for the same reason ANYTHING in a story can be "good"---when it ADDS and seasons the story with the flavor of cleverness. Everything in good writing should aim toward that---telling a good story. If the world is already crafted like Tolkien's, then show respect for the life that he breathed in it. Diversity has it's place; and that place isn't everywhere.

You know the times are changing when even the critics are roasting this

Tolkeen wanted to copy child stories in his work like when he wrote the following; Sauron changed into a werewolf and knocked the doors to Moria saying,"Little Pig, Little Pig let me in", to which his favorite character Disa replied,"not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!"

When Galadriel asked “what did it cost” & the dark lord Bezos replied “everything” I could not hold back the tears any longer.

I liked the part where Elrond said, "I did not hit her. I did not. Oh, hi Mark."

Elrond: "Put up your sword Galadriel" Galadriel: "But then what will I have?" Those two lines on their own are absurd and hilarious in like six different ways.

When Gandalf told aragorn "remember who you are, you are my son and one true king..remember..remember" as he faded away in the clouds. My heart was torn to shreds

Surely the critics overlooked what I have heard is the most affecting scene of all: Where, after Robin Williams and Sauron trade stories about how they were beaten when young--Williams by his "mean drunk" of a father, Sauron, of course, by Morgoth, Lord of the Underworld, Bane of Arda, and Williams embraces a sobbing Sauron while gently repeating, "It's not your fault, it's not your fault..." So powerful, the catharsis!

When Gordon Ramsay showed up to make a new season of Kitchen Nightmares called Kitchen Nightmares: Middle Earth Edition and shouted to Sauron. "Where's the lamb sauce!?" That was by far my favorite part.

I am rewatching Babylon 5 right now! I love that show! My parents watched it together as it was coming out and they introduced it to me as soon as I was old enough.

The fact that just about the entire cast preached how proud they are about how they all injected modern politics into the show just proves that they haven’t read and/or don’t understand Tolkiens work.

That part when Galadriel no-scoped JFK from the book depository and said: Hasta La Vista Baby…..Wow!

What Amazon did not expect is that Tolkien fans are educated, intelligent readers, deeply rooted to Tolkien's creations. It is like wanting to change the religion of a devotee. The Lord of the Rings is not just fantasy, it is the representation of the good overcoming the evil that surrounds the world... and therefore all this seems to me to be a great irony.

The part where Galadriel said “no I’m a ring of power” left me speechless

Honestly, Elrond and Durin hitting rocks with hammers is the best part.

When guyladriel threw sauron off Nakatomi Plaza and as he fell he said "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die." And she replied, "get away from her you b1 tch!" I literally died.

When Galadriel is crawling through the air conditioning duct, lights her zippo and says “ yeah, come to Middle Earth, have a few laughs”. That got me, right in the heart. Breathtaking . Amazing.

Spot on review. Personally, it isn't good when you wish Galadriel HAD drowned in the sea. Galadriel should be the most intriguing, compelling and awesome character but I couldn't tell you one thing she said in either of these first two episodes. If forced to choose, I would say Arondir is the most interesting character at this point- and he's not even a Tolkien created character. That says it all. BTW, there are classes online and at universities that will teach you how to write things like a storyline, dialogue, etc...just saying. But I will keep watching, maybe even perform a sacrifice, in hopes it will get better.

i teared up when Galadriel said "and I... am all of the Rings"

There is no one more amusing than a British person who dislikes something.

The scene where Guyladriel stands on the edge of the cliff and screams "Mine is the greatest story ever told!" And then SHEminem shoves her off the cliff... I about died of laughter.

So I went into this new series blind and I actually fell asleep when I tried watching the first episode.

They did the same thing to Wheel of Time. Complletely ignored the novel facts and completely ruined the story. It's ridiculous. They won't even allow reviews yet or maybe never because they know what's coming.

I feel like EW was smiling the whole time as they took Amazon's money to fund those shill pieces and the "Days of Our Lives" meme video.

I'm mostly surprised that some critics are having a go at the writing, which I thought would be decent. If the writing is not good, this show is doomed, because the more than casual fans will despise this regardless and the normies won't stick around for obvious garbage.

The part where Guy-ladriel jumps in the air in front of the balrog and the camera does a 360 spin around them as as they are frozen in bullet time had my hands shaking at her skill and bravery.

Finally some critics with the fortitude to tell the truth. The audience scores and comments are going to be amazing. Can’t wait for the script to flip on Amazon.

The part where Galadriel says: “My countrymen, lend me your ears” and they all rip their ears off and throw them at her is so powerful. Can’t wait for more of the Merry Elves.

"I must follow the passage." "But you don't even know what's down there!" "Ye- ...yeah? That's the whole point? I'm gonna go find out..."
