Hi former Military man here an (XO in an Tank Company), Good leaders want feedback but keep in mind there is a tactful way of making suggestions versus what she is doing is making demands. Also making direct demands in front of people is blatant disrespect as it call in to question a persons position and ability to lead.

Man the ring design is attrocious. Its suppose to invoke the elegance of elves. Looks like a clubbed hippo made them.

“You look just like Lady Galadriel” would be an unbelievably high compliment if this show had spent any amount of time helping the audience to understand just how ancient she is while showcasing her grace and the wisdom she has gained over her (already) very long life. But wow does that compliment fall flat in the way this show has done things. I can’t think of a single elf that even shows Galadriel respect, nor have they shown her earning any. She is treated more like a nuisance.

This is not more than 2/10 if you look at the entire narrative. 1. Why is durin getting all 7 rings? Who gave them? Why no mention of the remaining three clans who live in Khazad dum itself? 2. Why is the cave so close to the city market, and now there is a deep gorge which goes directly to Balrog? It is off by 1.5 age 3. Does Gil galad think Sauron has an army? He knows very well Halbrand was acting alone. Does elves have no scouts on their borders? Does eregion have no scouts or rangers on their borders? 4. Why is Durin's ring behaving like the One ring? if he is corrupted within weeks, how will the dwarves survive for another 2 ages, the entire point is that dwarves were immune to the corruption. 5. Celebrimbor is too dumb, he can't see the oh-so-obvious manipulation, and is he like a manager, giving orders? he is supposed to be learning and helping Sauron who learned from Aule, and sauron looks so helpless without celebrimbor 6. Too much DEI, you seem to be accepting it too easily 7. Numenorians were corrupted by Sauron to challenge the Valar, this doesn't happen overnight without Sauron's corrupting influence 8. Suddenly Kings men are attacking the Loyalists who are incapable of defending, this is 1500 years of slow decline being compressed in 3 episodes Too many logical loopholes, random stuff is happening, nothing makes sense. Look at this with the other stories combined, and this is 2/10

As an artist, it's weird to have a long haired character with non-human ears and design the hair to not only be short but also pushed back. Whenever I design a long haired character like that there's always some fun overhang hair to hide the transition from face to ear. These people opted to leave them out on the open and it just looks awkward the way they did it. Give me the Peter Jackson elves who all were essentially a beautiful piece of art on their own. Barely any of the design choices scream Tolkien tbh. It just feels cheap

I am quite mentally disturbed, thank you very much, that's why I'm here. The different layers of madness revolving around RoP fascinates me to no end. How on earth can someone make a show this terrible? Why are you analyzing it with such enthusiasm? Why can't I stop watching these RoP reviews?!

I'm waiting for the moment when the Balrog is about to invade Khazad-Dum and Disa is standing on that giant bridge defiantly as she shouts "You cannot pass!" and then uses her super power sonic voice to break the bridge and drop the Balrog into the depths

The show is written and directed by people that are on a mental level of 12 year old kid.

Back in my twenties me and some friends would get together every Sunday, order pizza and compete to rent the worst horror movie we could find and mock it My wife and I have been doing this with Rings of Power. We do is MSFT3K style and my wife will even ask the cat what she thinks and give the answer in this silly ass cartoon voice. Its a lot more fun than the show.

If a beloved work that belonged to Turkish or Indian or Korean culture was destroyed like this by someone with an obvious political agenda, replacing characters with actors of different ethnicities, people would call it r---ism. Amazon Retardation Scenario: It's the Season Finale. Eregion is destroyed. All the Rings were distributed. The One Ring is forged. Adar is dead. Sauron controls Mordor and everything else. Galadriel is destroyed and retreats to Lindon. Celeborn finally shows up but it's Sauron disguised and he kisses Galadriel and Celebrian ends up being the Daughter of Galadriel and Sauron. The end.

It's amazing how the Dwarf women have no characteristics of Dwarves. They are perfectly humanly calm and wise and restrained and must govern their childlike, pigheaded husbands to some sense. No greed in them, no stubborness, not a hint of their race. Even better, when the king uses a supernatural power (the ring) to find where to dig - she calls it cheating and is worried. Yet, when Captain Marvel or She Hulk use supernatural strength not of their own making, they are strong and independent and just when beating stupid men to a pulp. Suddenly, the strength is their own, somehow. The hypocrisy is incredible, the need to turn us on each other instead of finding common ground.

If McDonalds advertised and sold you a Big Mac, but delivered a tortilla chip, or If BMW sold you a German luxury sports sedan, but delivered a child's tricycle, Or if Carnival advertises and sells you a week long Bahamas cruise, but instead drives you to the local Chucky Cheese... They'd all be sued into oblivion. Why then is Hollywood / Amazon / Disney allowed to sell us Middle Earth but instead deliver a CW soap opera without legal ramifications?

It's weird as I married into a DIE HARD Tolkien family. Own all the books, action figures, we go to the concerts, etc etc....absolutely ZERO interest from any of them about RoP.

The series COMPLETELY BOTCHES the lore of the rings of power, for which the series is named. The three elven rings were made by the elves alone AFTER Annatar was exposed as Sauron, They were made to fight back against the corrupted influence Sauron had over the previous rings for dwarves and men. Celebrimbor used some of the techniques taught to him by Annatar, but those three rings were never touched by his influence. This is just yet more disrespect to Tolkien.

1 positive thing about the show is Gil-galad. He wears the prettiest dresses!

Tolkien's work has been twisted into something dark and terrible, not altogether that different from how the elves were turned into orcs. And if sauron had won in the Third Age, orcish critics would be singing the praises of RoP. I h8 that the bad guys won the story of real life. 😢

I 100% agree that LOTR: ROP’s ostensibly “great” production quality is NOT, in fact, even “very good.” It ALL looks cheap, and the CGI is not in the least convincing. However, if 1) ROP didn’t ARROGANTLY set aside Tolkien’s actual source material and foolishly think its own team of “writers” could do better, 2) if ROP didn’t ENTIRELY “re-create” and, thus, totally destroy much beloved Tolkien characters, such as Galadriel (who *should* be the very embodiment of grace, mystical magical power she learned from the Maia Melian, and wisdom), and 3) if ROP had *anything* resembling a coherent plotline, I *might* be able to forgive its poor production quality.

The original Peter Jackson trilogy cost: 93 mil, 94 mil and 94 mil respectively. Season two has an estimated budget of about 700 million. The one season of the show costs almost 3x as much as the original trilogy combined

I’ve compared Rings of Power to a 13-year-old’s first WattPad fanfiction, but it’s not even that-this is a mentally deficient 10-year-old’s writing interwoven through plagiarism of a poorly translated copy of the Silmarillion.

Really this is such a disappointment. We haven't had Tolkien brought to our screens for decades, and this is what we get. Perhaps 20 years from now the rights get bought from Amazon and a competent team can actually make a show that does Tolkien and Middle Earth justice. I'm not even angry, I'm just so disappointed. I even held out hope that perhaps this team could bring things around with season 2, but I think it's clear by now that this series is a bust, it's just not going to happen. RIP

Compliment to the Rings of Power (something I rarely do), I actually like the design of the Dwarven rings. I like the thick, kinda chunky geometric style they went for. Makes me wonder why those look so nice when the Elven rings look worse than something you'd find in a Cracker Jack box.

i agree with everything but one thing. Stealing breast milk and drinking that is the least masculine thing you could possibly do and dairy literally contains estrogen which lowers your testosterone. Soy on the other hand has lots of protein and none of those unsaturated fats and estrogen and also you dont steal it from a baby. So that soy comment was super weird coming from a dairy boy.

Episode 5 was so hard for me to get my head around. There's so much potential for a good story based on Tolkiens work, and it's like they're toying with the idea of actually - you know - doing that. You just get these flakes of gold in a pond of shit.
