Rings of Power Season 2 is a DISASTER - Women Destroy Middle-earth 

What an abominable bastardization of Tolkien’s world.

This show is so bad that I can barely even watch RU-vidrs mock it.

We used to love stories like lord of the rings, Star Wars, Star Trek, marvel and DC comics, etc etc, while being made fun of for being nerds and virgins. Now they are taken over by the same people that made fun of us but now they’re calling us virgins for not watching….

Tolkien was a devout Catholic, so of course the "modern audience" wants to destroy his work. When you watch the show in that context, it's an amazing success.

So even in fantasies black characters still have to grow up with dead beat fathers. Leaning into those stereotypes for inclusivity I see.

This show is a woke self own. During a period where middle earth is lead by empowered women and ethnically diverse, Sauron rises to power. During a period of 'white' patriarchy, Sauron is defeated. Amazon didnt think this one through.

The Balrog woke up, saw it was the rings of power and said "fuck that, I'm sleeping."

Ever notice how they give so much sympathy to the evil, ugly male villains and make the honorable women attracted to the “bag guy” but then totally dump on the good, honorable male heroes? The dwarves in canon resisted the power of the rings and were not controlled by them. It’s the balrog and the goblins that wiped them out. Also when Sauron crafted the “one ring” he spoke the words “one ring to rule them all” and he never anticipated that the connection goes both ways, and the ring bearers heard him and took off their rings.

This show is like a 20 hour long SNL skit. Orcs being parents is on the level of Frodo and Gollum being roommates in Denver, CO(skit from 2002 when Elijah Wood hosted SNL). Rings of Power is such a pathetic embarrassment I can't even get angry over its existence anymore.

By giving the female characters "agency" they effectively turned them into villains. Elendil's daughter is a traitor. Miriel is a weak unresolved leader who gets her kingdom destroyed. Disa brings in a corrupting ring and sews animosity between the father and the son, nevermind waking up a balrog with her stupid singing. Galadriel's faux pas and crimes are too many to count. 😂

Imagine what The Expanse could have done with $1bn. Three more seasons, more fleshed out characters, more world-building. Instead we get this shite. I hope Jeff Bezos' son is happy.

One thing I've noticed is that it tries to absolve women from responsibility, of the bad things happening. With disa, it was her who pushed to help the elves, then they got the ring for durin's dad, then disa somehow finds the balrog and now hates the rings( the thing that she forced her husband to get to solve that first issue). Galadriel found sauron, hid his identity then accepted the rings, then she gets captured, after adar gives her a speech of how sauron is a lier and manipulative, then galadriel suddenly realizes sauron's plan, then she tries to save adar.... Remember, disa suddenly found the balrog and wants to save her husband, galadriel suddenly realizes sauron's plan... You see the trick here, same thing with our dear queen mirea, whatever her name is 😂

I’m so glad I quit watching season two after episode 3. I couldn’t handle the weak characters and identity politics forced into the characters and acting. Disgusting 🤮

The one thing that really annoyed me was in episode 5 when Mirdania put on the ring and became invisible. But elves exist simultaneously in both the physical world (Arda) and the spiritual realm (the unseen world). Unlike Men, Elves are inherently tied to the spiritual realm, which means they already have a level of awareness and presence there. Therefore, even if they put on the One Ring, they wouldn’t become invisible. For mortals, however, wearing the One Ring causes them to ‘fade’ into the spiritual realm, making them invisible in the physical world.

Look. I lost my sight 4 years ago. I use a screen reader to leave my Gem comments: This show, sounds, like crap. The line reading, and actors all SOUND miscast. Everyone sounds allergic to Testosterone, and there seems like there is just this prissy porno acting undertone to every single line of dialogue I have heard from the show, s1 and s2. I've never SEEN a second of footage. Maybe having functional eyes HELPS, but, dang. This thing just SOUNDS awful, it hurts my ears just to hear the actors trying to act this dialogue out.

It’s a shame that Amazon spent so much money on the rights and two seasons, just to drive another beloved franchise into the ground. The reason Jackson’s adaptation worked so good was because he didn’t throw the books out and write his own story…

I am still struggling to make out what was the most upsetting twist , they made... I could have lived with black elves , i guess - if they hadn't maxed out the equity game in such a hideous "rub it under their noses" fashion. The senile young Gandalf approach hurt me good, and it did even more last season. The "sympathetic" Ork family Tale got me spinning. The whole " call us Uruk" don't call us 'Orcs" reminded me on not calling Immigrants Immigrants but "persons looking for refuge ". To say it in Thunberg : HOW DARE YOU? Orcs are vile and evil... no more no less... .....But what really almost made me puke was the depiction of Dwarf women and Desert "peeping" Tom Bombadil. I feel sad for my lifetime hero J.R.R. Tolkien. This is disgraceful.

I think it was something to do with men already doing for the most part what they are continually told by women to do, while for the most part women never take their own darn advice!

It's like when my best friend and I were young and playing. We constructed a whole world with rules, persistent characters, and we were having the best time. Until my friend's mom walks in with his sister and says, "You have to include her". We'd object, of course, because every time we try to include her she changes the rules and doesn't care what happened before she got there. Suddenly nothing makes sense anymore and the characters are all princesses and ponies. We lose interest, leave, and then get punished by the mom for not playing nice. WTF OVER!?!? When Sensai Bombadil taught Gandalf how to staff by making him wax on wax off his Limbo, that was the coolest most badass thing I've ever seen in the movies or real life.

I'm okay with women being in charge if they meet all of the qualifications, are experienced and competent.
