For me: Code 10 was a clogged condensation drain line. It was not frozen, it’s summer time. Just clogged up with something that probably crawled up in it and caused it to get clogged up. A shop vac hooked up to it freed it up real quick and unit was back to normal. The gurgling comment was very helpful. That’s exactly what I was hearing. Thanks!
All right guys, I just had that issue on a tank that is less that a year old that errored code 10. To fix it, I got a blow dryer and heated the pipes (especially the one that goes out of your garage to outside) for about 10 minutes. I then reset the tank, and it worked fabulously. There is a severe cold front currently in Jan 2024 that froze the exhaust pipe.
I am having same problem, but not sure where to put the hair dryer 🤣. Did you place it on the pipes inside the house at the Rinnai unit? Or outside of the house?
@@lizsiegenthaler1749I had the same issue this morning. I heated up the drain pipe. In this video it’s the clear one, mine was red though. It did take the full 10 minutes to heat it up. Then I unplugged it, waited 30 seconds and plugged it back in. Good to go.
I really hate my water heater. It shuts down every few months no matter how much maintenance we do. Had to replace the unit for a 2nd time in less than a year. It's just a big headache.
