I love rinseless! I’ve used exclusively rinseless for about a year and a half now and have had 0 issues. I find that the sponge is better than towels because of the more even distribution of pressure and you don’t have to constantly fold it. It’s nice here in the south to be able to wash the whole car and not have to worry about when it dries. It’s also great for weekly maintenance washes to not have to get out the hose or pressure washer and just pre spray, wash, dry.

You nailed it. The method, for me, depends on the condition of the vehicle. For a maintenance detail on a light to moderately dirty vehicle, rinseless is the way to go, IMHO. But for a heavily soiled vehicle or paint correction/coating prep, I prefer a pre-wash, snow foam, wash mitt method. Great advice Oscar.

Yup! That's exactly how I look at it

I do both. Rinseless is half the time as a two bucket. I usually wash my garage kept vehicles twice a month. 3-4 rinseless before I break out the pressure washer. Of corse this changes if we get rain. When my wheel barrels get noticeably dirty that’s when I traditional wash. Solid video !
@kenss2972
@kenss2972 Год назад
Thanks for this video. 100% correct. Sometimes the vehicle needs a traditional wash due to the condition of the finish. Other times the rinseless wash makes perfect sense and uses less water. Less clean up inside garage and better when temperatures outside are colder than one would prefer.

Been doing rinseless wash since I bought a new car 6 months ago. Wash media I use is the UBS. No issues on scratches whatsoever. I wash 2 cars weekly and dont encounter issues for both. Also tried washing a car that hasn’t been cleaned for a month with rinseless ..still no issues. My method is: 1. Do a pre-rinse with rinseless wash 2. Contact wash 3. Touch ups if needed 4. Dry using a towel In case I’ll encounter a heavily soiled car, I would do a pre-rinse with rinseless wash, do a pre-wash with apc maybe then pressure wash before doing a contact wash using rinseless. It all boils down to common sense and proper technique I guess.

Exactly. Foam is fun. But it doesn’t compare to rinse less. Rinse less is king.

I am exclusively rinseless. Beyond preference I don't understand why people think you can't use rinseless on hammered paint.

If your going to use soap make sure you use a drying aid/lubricant when drying because that’s when the car gets the most scratched. It won’t have the lubricative polymers on the surface the way the rinseless will so keep spray with the drying towel.

I don't have free flowing water access so I'm primarily rinseless. I pre spray and then use the sponge. You have the benefit of speed, lubrication and you don't rinse it off afterwards Plus you don't need a drying aid if you don't want one

Very informative video. In my situation I use rinseless as well. It works as good as a traditional wash for me. Question tho, can I polish the paint after a rinseless wash and or decontamination? Greetings from the Netherlands

I can't see someone ringing out a sponge now without hearing Yvan saying "just on the verge of dripping" 😂

Will this not carry any dirt or grime into your clean soap?
@mlj257

Drying time should be included in this. If drying with Rinseless, you can just dry as the Rinseless wash acts as a drying aide. The standard wash would need a drying aid that may add more time going to grab the spray and spraying each panel. Also when most people do a Standard Wash now, they use a foam cannon that will add significantly more time as they are prepping the cannon, spraying on, removing the cannon for rinsing, etc. Adding all that Rinseless Wash is the fastest by far.
@craigmiller8564
@craigmiller8564 Год назад
You are supposed to pre-rinse with rinseless to provide sufficient lubrication for the special sponge. Yvan would freak out!
@MrChuckwagon55
@MrChuckwagon55 Год назад
The sponge was specifically made for rinseless washing. It’s been scientifically proven to capture more dirt and be the most gentle on the clearcoat/paint. Give it a chance.
@Ichabod_Jericho
@Ichabod_Jericho Год назад
Yvan also has a significantly huge monetary incentive to say that vehemently, and it’s just not true for very soft paint that hasn’t been waxed in years. Also, 80% of people will micromar during the drying process because they usually don’t know to use a drying aid.
@MrChuckwagon55
@MrChuckwagon55 Год назад
@@Ichabod_Jericho - You don’t need a drying aid with rinseless because rinseless softens the water. Drying aids are optional.
@Ichabod_Jericho
@Ichabod_Jericho Год назад
@@MrChuckwagon55 of course they’re optional, but ONR on its own doesn’t provide enough lubrication to prevent micromarring during the drying process, hence why Yvan also suggests using drying aid & light pressure
@MrChuckwagon55
@MrChuckwagon55 Год назад
@@Ichabod_Jericho - I’ve never seen micromarring with ONR. Yvan said your supposed to use no pressure with the sponge.

For me I dumped soap in favour of the way rinseless washes lift the dirt. Pre soak, rinse, wash. No too fussed about ground water, just least amount of damage. Also acts as a water softener so less water spotting.

I have new vehicle also. 6 weeks. Haven’t washed yet. So rinse vehicle…spray rinse less on vehicle Wash with the sponge or towels and no drink or rinsing? That’s it?

Sponge doesn’t feel that great because it hasn’t been seasoned. Will continue to get softer. I’m 6 years in on a big red sponge and it’s insanely soft.

Been strictly rinseless for 6 1/2 years. I do pre rinse and use soap and water for wheels/tires. I don’t understand the notion of one will scratch more then the other, just use proper methods.

Sounds weird, but rinseless refers to the fact you aren’t rinsing the vehicle after the first wash, not before it.

At least there is no water dripping all over the place and in real time the rinse less wins because drying with air hose it’s more time
