One of the best portrayals of a realistic alcoholic going through realistic physical and mental anguish due to withdrawal. Such a departure from the normal "witty, tragic-comedic" portrayal of a drunkard in a western or action film. I believed every bit of what Martin portrays. Amazing movie.
Dean martin did the best acting of his life in this one too. I met Claude Akins at a car show in Seattle years after this movie was made. He said Dean did stuff that no one thought he was capable of doing, before they brought in the stunt man.
The Searchers, Red River and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon offered his best performances as an actor. Red River was also directed by Howard Hawks. Hawks is very under appreciated as a director. Never won an Oscar.
Hola amigo.. Me acabo de suscribir a tu canal. Tienes ña pelicula Rio Bravo completa en latino???.. La he buscado y no la encuentro.... Estaré atento Gracias
@@tomjustis7237, We probably have good actors but the scripts, stories, are so overblown with violence and foul language that the qualities of movies are just plain low grade.
@@gazwillz3225 White people are starting to have enough of that word. We really need to start worrying about our own race and stop worrying about how any other race feels about us.
@@jamesbomar3903 I’m with you on that, we are all human treat everyone as you want to be treated and I think eventually the world would be a much nicer place
2:15 Dude gets shot, and the people in the saloon barely react to it. 3:39 "Anybody else you want besides Joe?" John T. Chance says, "No", even though the guy at the bar drew down on him when he first tried to arrest Joe. I like this movie, but some scenes could've been done a lot better.
@@Eadbhard it feels like a three stooges routine or something lol, the plot is kind of meandering too, such a simple story shouldn't need 2 and a half fucking hours Good film despite all that
