I live in Recreio, and do not have a car. I walk for everything I need to do, in Recreio. If I need to go somewhere outside of Recreio, Uber is perfect for that, they arrive quickly, I can schedule rides in advance, and getting around like that is vastly less expensive than owning a car. I could afford a luxury car, like BMW or Mercedes, if I wanted to do that. I don`t want to do that. Walking a lot keeps me healthier, and nice cars are a target for criminals.
Hey man, Recreio is at the end of Barra, it's a bit farther away. It might be that things are closer in that neighborhood, but I don't know it in depth. I hear people talking a lot about Barra da Tijuca. It's great that you can maintain a good lifestyle in a city like Rio de Janeiro. Congratulations on your financial success.
Great video. I visited Rio and it is my least favorite city in Brazil. Like you, I think that there are much better places to live long term in Brazil.
