I like the German coach doing the little head bob bow. Not normal for a European to do but shows that extra bit of effort to show respect through culture.

@@Dougarrowhead it does affect as u can see the flags and their hair are moving pretty strong..... And a slight Gust of wind can change the trajectory especially if the target is several meters away

Archery is very inexpensive and fun if you go with a basic recurve bow. I picked up a Bear Titan bow for US$60 and some aluminium arrows for US$10 each. And it's a serious bit of kit, I started with cardboard targets but my arrows went straight through it so I upgraded to foam panels. With a bit of skill and practice, you can even be accurate.

Look out for sales. I got lucky and found a bow and limbs for $5 each.

We used to make our own bows and arrows every winter(it is the season for archery back there) when we were kids. Treading knee deep snow in search of good twigs, it used to be a lot of fun. Those days are lone gone now😏😏😔😔

You seem to forget that expansionist Korean dynasties which invaded Northeast China and Inner Mongolia existed. Goguryeo is an example. Its territory expanded to Northeast China, Manchuria, Inner Mongolia, and modern day Far East Russia. There are even Korean fortresses found in Eastern Mongolia.

Jack Shin I don’t think that they are invincible, it’s just that the way they think about archery is different. In most countries, archers focus on the target and to land on the bullseye while training, unlike Korean archers which focus more on the form and their spiritual self.

Late reply, but from what I've heard strength does matter since you can pull back further for a faster arrow that travels better against wind.

The distance of the target is the same for both sexes which means you need just enough strength to make it through (both females and males can) and also practice to make your shoot powerful and stable. A man can shoot 10 and a woman can shoot 10, too. Not like they r shooting against each other. So this sport better not be separated. It’d be more competitive and fun to watch. Just that society is not ready for some hardcore logic real no Hollywood life but asleep on talents because they hold boring excuses.

The Monolith to be fair women wouldn’t have a chance against men. Look up the records of men and women in therms of scores. Men shoot better than women.

Whatever.. more medals, more competition, more fun. Leave it as is.

Greetings to another peenoise in the comment section! There are many archery club in the philippines problem is most of them are in NCR if you live in this region then you are fine. If you are familiar with decathlon many of their branches offer free archery lessons. You don't to buy equipment to get started, try the sport first then decide if you want to pursue it because good equipment costs an arm and a leg.

in London the stands were full, but a lot of events in Rio were empty. the Brazilians didn't support these Olympics very well. It won't be in South America any time soon, again.

This is the Olympic style/discipline. All their attachments decrease any vibration of the bow which can interfere with perfect shots. One can still use a barebow recurve and compete with it. There are tournaments for barebow, olympic style, compound etc. Look for a local range, they often have beginner bows that one can try out :)
