I'm after a smaller scooter and have been looking at the Dueltron Mini 17.5ah how's the scooter feel to ride does it have good acceleration upto around 15mph ? I have two Kaabo scooters and they're far to big and heavy for everyday use.

But no speed Why not Highway or Streets outside the city. Must not be a german Autobahn

Hah, I can say that he is for sure a better rider on the Rion than I currently am. Taking turns and such on such a powerful and lightweight scooter takes a lot of skill. I hope to have more time on the machine so I can keep up with him in the future.

I've seen a few thunders with the PMT tires and damn they look incredible. I'd love to put some on my Thunder, but also scared about the install. Let me know when/if you get them installed.

@@AlienRides And so you should be scared lol they will be a nightmare to get on, but what you could do is holla at last mile and Minimotors USA and suggest they buy the tire machine it runs around $900 or they could get a manual machine for around $600, im sure they would make their money back of a year or so:) they may not even be aware of PMT tires.

The new RE90-100 use a new battery pack that should get more range than a Dualtron Thunder. I'll try to do a range test on it soon. the 96 volt 30 amp hour battery pack is no joke.

Yup, heat is definitely a part of any motor and also something that needs to be considered. Long hill climbs can overheat some motors. That's one of the reasons why the RIon motors are vented for example, to help cool them.

Hah, yeah it kind of just helps you lower your center of gravity as you go around the bend. It's not really necessary, slowing down a bit can also help 👋

Wobbles can be a bit tough to counter. I did a video on a steering damper recently, check it out, some techniques in that video could be helpful. One of the tips is applying more weight to your front foot to apply more traction on the front tire. Another tip is to get a longer handlebar which improves steering. Let me know how it goes.

Yeah, it will blow away pretty much every scooter, except maybe for some heavily modded Dualtrons. Would love to race a Rion against one of those some day. I did not come even close to maxing it out this day, need to go to a race track or air strip to do so I think.

Brian McK yup, in Los Angeles. A few components get imported, like PMT tires from Italy.

Grin tech makes really great stuff, I haven't tried their hub motors but I'm sure they are amazing.

Right now there's not, but the throttle curve is fairly responsive so you can definitely ride slower if you have self control. Definitely built to go fast though 😁

@@jasontomica8938 In the U.S. where there doesn't seem to be any legislation on speed, one of these 60-100mph scooters taking out a pedestrian and probably killing them, will bring the whole scooter hobby under the spot light. Then there will be enforced speed restrictions and possible licence requirement. Let's hope riders never throttle up to silly mph in a cycle lane.

That's a really good point, we did some fun acceleration tests against some lamborghinis and super cars in another video and the acceleration was amazing, but we didn't measure it. I have a RE90 on the way, so I'll try to test that later this year!

IT'S not about the price its about enjoying the ride, so get what your bank balanced says you can get and have fun with what you have, I bet you don't drive a FERRARI but the car you do have takes you to lots of fun places. enjoy what you can buy, like the FERRARI by all means, think they are cool but i bet the one you can afford can be cool in how you make that one special in your own design there are lots of gadgets out there, CARBONREVO are cool but use your head, for a glowing colour board they want $450 , take picture of it go to your local sign artist and they will make you one the same for a $100 but it will have your stamp on it, if you wanted to it could flash 'Avel's there one is a RE100 ' LOL use your brain . Good idea. I've done that in some of my past videos, and plan on doing a GPS test with the model in the near future.

The new battery is at least 96.6volts, 30amp hour, which is a pretty large battery. I would say probably 40-50 miles or so at the video speeds, maybe less if you go faster. 🛴💨💨

This was a pretty short trip, maybe 10 miles or so. We’re going to do some range tests in the future. 30-40 miles is expected during conservative riding.

By charge, do you mean range or cost? If range, it is stated at 30-40 miles, but I hope to test it myself in the future. It's dual motor, I think they may be phasing out the older single motor Rion models.

It’s supposed to be coming soon to Europe under formula E. It hasn’t started yet, but I’m looking forward to making some video on it when it does.

Yup, it’s got a thumb throttle. No speedometer yet, but I think they’re working on a cell phone app for that. No front suspension, only rear. 👽🖖

@@AlienRides The stormcore controller can be operated with smart phone I think. Do you know if there is Android support? If only apple support than will it work on an iPhone 7+?

Yes, there is actually a more evolved RE100 now that we'll be doing a video on soon. Probably 100mph or so.

Range is likely going to be 30-40 miles at high speed. I think they've just upgraded the battery, so it should go further than the Dualtron Thunder.

I've hit several smaller ones and have been fine, pretty much any small wheeled electric device will have trouble with them though.

Oh yeah, you definitely don't want to crash on one of these. Super fun until that happens though 😁

Interesting, but as far as I know even the dual poles will converge at a single point somewhere, so you still have a single point of failure? I've tried the Dualtron X and I really do love that scooter, it's one of my favorites to ride, but the steering on the Rion is much better IMO. There's much less play in the handlebars, and it's easier to maneuver. This is just my preference after riding both scooters, but everyone has their own preference. Also if you're going to off-road or anything like that, the Dualtron X is a better choice.

I like the look of the X but it does look super beefy pros/cons to that. Have you seen the Zero's X10/11's? S D I’ve seen the zeros, but have not seen the 11X yet, hopefully some day. The Dualtron X suspension is really great, the best scooter suspension I’ve ever tried. It is beefy, but super comfortable to ride. No cons unless you have to pick it up, dont want to do that. The new Rion site went live where you can buy the race editions. wearerion.com

Luckily they last many years, but the factory will always sell you a new battery if needed.

Hah, most cities are, but San Francisco is pretty bad, pretty small amount of bike lanes and safe places to ride.

I've never tested it myself, but should be close to 80 mph. This is just a guess and based on what I've heard from the factory, but hope to do real tests in the future.

Yes, that's the RE90 I've got now basically. It's a crazy machine.

I should do a video of that in the future. The motor and tire drops out pretty easily by unscrewing a bolt, but then I do think it's not easy to change the racing slicks. I haven't had to do it yet myself though.

Hah, that would be pretty interesting and awesome if so, I think that's going to be extremely rare though. I think they are too much fun to sell, so even if they bought a new scooter they'll probably keep the ultra-lightweight for occasional joy rides.

@@AlienRides you definitely will see what a Prime Racer is nevertheless test the Goped Hooverboard ESR 1000 they are the ones that originally copied the CIDI or cam link suspension we call it from the Italjet dragster race 2 stroke 180cc scooter that the Dueltrons are using the stability of that cam link suspension is good on a small wheel base in mini hub motors but on our full size bikes the cam link suspension is a flaw in conering on circuit tracks!! I still have my Schwinn Stealth 1000 scooter's modified with 10kw outrunners from 12 years ago when us Original Endless spheres first started building high power electric Lev,s but I'll be ready by Xmas it takes time soldering 6awg wire and expensive 63 volt 500amp MGM ESC and Giant custom 2400 gram 40Kw!!! Lehner LMT Outrunners all German made electronics 🙈🙉🙊🤫💪

Alien Rides it was Friday May 1st about 9pm. It was actually his wreck that got me into looking up these high powered electric personal vehicles and how I came to find your channel. Now every time I see someone riding anything without any gear I wanna warn them. Sometimes I think about carrying around extra helmets to give to ppl I see not wearing one. Iv'e been riding motorcycle for 15 years, been down 4 times and helmets have saved my life for sure.

It does have rear suspension, but it's definitely built in a way where you can always feel the road, like a high end sports car.

Definitely the RE90 currently.

Both the Rion and Weped are amazing, and could not be more opposite from each other at the same time. The only similarity is the high speed, but that’s it. The Rion is about half the weight of the SS, and doesn’t sport the loud LED lights, or rectangular frame. Personally I consider the Rion to be my racer of choice, and the Weped SS to be my cyberpunk party cruiser. It really depends on what you’re looking for.

Definitely scared of getting doored, has happened to some of my friends. If you’re going to ride a PEV fast it’s definitely safer to take up a full lane, but if there’s cars and traffic it can be slower.

It's supposed to go 100mph/160kmh which is crazy. I need to find a safe way to test for sure, the highways in America are sadly not good enough to attempt. Need a road like the Autobahn, but that also allows scooters.

@@AlienRides need to find a race track for that. Maybe those track for nascar would be great, you could turn without slowing down.

@@madrodeo425 race tracks don't really slow scooters since they would to slow compared to how fast 600cc motorcycles would be going.

I have a Thunder and I love it for all day slow cruising, but in a race, even the non race edition will smoke it.

And lol, I just called my 50mph thunder "slow". Still coming down from the Rion high I guess.

​@@CrazyGreek80 I haven't been able to do a range test on the Rion yet, but I'll definitely do some tests in the future. You aren't going to see as much range as the Thunder, but the numbers I've been provided are 30-40 miles of range, that's probably during conservative riding.

Correct, the Rion has rear suspension, but not front suspension. It's built to always feel the road.
