we have a lot of slaughterhouse "jouneyman" victors and that is honestly what gives me hope for this game that i can still get good despite how ridiculous the difficulty has become
Riot's 96 on Sonic Wave is one of the most under-talked about "what could have been" moments in GD history, due to how much it was overshadowed by Mefewe 98, but would have changed everything just as much.
I really like this. please keep cutting clips from the podcasts. not only will this help with growing it but also these are really interesting. really exited to see who the next guest will be
One of the only podcasts I listen to. I've been extremely interested in the Gd community for a long time and seeing a podcast that talks so much about it is really enjoyable, and I get to learn even more things about the community that i didn't already know. Awesome job on this podcast guys, keep up the good work.
man I will never forget the sonic wave race, those final months were insane, no one knew what would happen, the 96% fail... and then sunix beat it. I was rooting for riot, but It was so memorable, sunix winning the race was like the beggining of a new era, a time for a new generation of players
I relate so much to what riot says, the mental factor is very important, and I cant imagine the pressure he felt over such a race, maybe if he kept insisting more he would have verified it, and as he said, it would have been the cherry on the top, I was so upset when I knew he lost.... but maybe thats just how it had to be, thinking about it now, sunix beating it is like poetic, it represents a new generation taking the lead of pushing the limits of the game, and thats how it was later again again.... riot, sunix, diamondsplash, technical, nswish, zoink...
I agree with him saying that 24 years old isn't that bad, I'm 21 years old and I'm still pushing limits, not in GD but in other games I play that I find fun
When Riots says Mefewe was not a skilled player but a journey one he means that Mefewe was the og jumper, his hardest was Decode by the time he jumped to sw
bro he interrupted riot because of the colour pick and interrupted him again after riot said mefewes grandfather passed away, nobody cares that you came back
I bet you didn't even watch the whole podcast. He calls out people like you about disrespecting him. At 1:06:59, GMDBlue asked Riot how does he feel about verifying Bloodbath in 1.9 physics. On 1.9 physics, straight flying is harder, and RobTop makes straight flying easier because of Bloodbath. And at 1:22:29, he said there are like 4 or 5 people who have a 144hz monitor after he verified Bloodbath.
