Last trip I done shows extensive fire damage above the fireplace that had burnt up the wall and into the roof area.

Not to sure if it will mate, state forest as well so not insured by a park, if it gets a rebuild it's probably most likely volunteers

Have many fond memories of this hut i spent alot of time there in early eighties when very few people knew of it , it was a loggers hut first refurbished by the Chamber's family who introduced me to it , we never drove down to it used to carry gear down the hill to keep it consealed in those days hut was partioned in half and had steel hot box in it and a well stocked Celler

I actually thought Crows was a victim of the bushfires through there , can't recall the year- until I saw it on a RU-vid video. Amazing it survived that Holocaust only to have this happen.

Yeah most likely mate, I was there in 2022 and it had really bad fire damage to the chimney area 😞

Do you think it maybe rebuilt it’s a shame huts that are in the high country are there for people to enjoy l would hate to think someone deliberately destroyed , crows hut.

Not to sure if they will yet mate, there was a hut a couple of click East of crows that burnt down in the 07 Fire and that's hasn't been rebuilt.

@@Bush-Tv l go up to the high country with a few mates there all tradies we carry a couple sheets of corrugated roofing ,nails ,fencing wire some star pickets sometimes some Perspex depending what’s lying around their building site that’s not needed. And if we come across a hut that needs something done we do it.

Crows hut is a big loss.Plenty of character and a cracking spot to camp when the snow fell.I saw that chimney damage(burn marks)and thought that it was lucky to survive.Great memories staying in the hut with good mates.We’ve gotta look after the huts that remain.Leave em clean,tidy and take your rubbish with you.👍

@highcountryrob5534 not wrong there mate, lots of good memories in there Done multiple snow trips (well before permits) summer trips the lot. I seen the damage as well and thought the same thing. Always thought that that hut would get taken out by a tree, not someone's stupidity

Yeah lots of good memories, as far as I know it was a chimney Fire, not sure if it's deliberate or not. Last time I was there (you can see at the end of the video) it had almost gone from the same thing. Above the chimney was almost destroyed
