I don't know how they mapped the real life skin graphs over these 64 bit moves, but these are still the most realistic portrayals of the wrestlers to date. If someone could map that tech to today's gaming engines, you'd have the perfect wrestling game.
It's just stop-motion animation. They take real-life footage of the wrestlers in a studio against a green screen or other background and convert the images into animation frames for sprites. The tech for mapping real-world people and objects to 3d renders in modern games already exists and has been used for sports games to portray real-life athletes. More recently, Unreal Engine 5 and the upcoming Bethesda Elder Scrolls 6 engine allow the developers to use photos of real life terrain and automatically generate 3d environments solely from the photos. It's amazing.
What’s funny about this is either Scott Hall or a friend of his owned this game on its arcade cabinet and Scott was watching one of his buddies play it as him and Scott says: “Awww man I can’t believe you had me job out to Bret” after his friend loses. 😂👍 He also had a funny remark when his buddy took Razor to the top rope as he said something along the lines of: “Yeah, because I was always known for my aerial offense”.😅 Anyway this was all posted on Scott Hall’s old RU-vid channel.
Good game lol it was garbage it would have been good if it was just realistic instead of magic blades and hammers and dumb ass shit...the lack of moves also made it so repetitive it was boring ..the only good thing was how the wrestlers looked like the wrestler

@@ReginaldOglesby Yup, I think it ran better on the ps1 and sega Saturn, when 4 wrestlers were on the screen at the same time and graphics looked the best as well..
I used to dominate this game with Bam Bam Bigelow. His combo and grapple/throw game are unmatched in this title. Still the most fun wrestling game I've ever played.
i remember getting a used Super Nintendo console as a kid & a few games & a 2nd. Controller to go with it at my local video games & electronics store up the street from where i lived at the timez! & on my walk back home i had brought it over my one childhood friend's house who lived a couple houses down from me! to play it with him! & i had played quite a bit of older consoles previously before this as a kid consoles like Atari-2600, NES, SNES, & Sega-Genesis, & so old games & gaming was nothing new to me! But to my friend his first ever system experiences was PS1 & then later on at this time the PS2 & playing his cousins Original XBOX! & so he really didn't know any of the older game's except he said he played like a little tiny bit Super-Mario-Brothers-2-&-3 on the NES with his Dad! once or twice! & year's!! ago!! when he was really super! young! & so he was ALL like what the Heck!? is that old ass ancient looking thing you trying to hook up on my dang TV Set!? & i said it's a Super-Nintendo! man! & it's awesome it's got a TON of Games! available for it! like shitloads!! & most are really good classic game's! & he was like No way! get the heck outta here! they probably suck! look how old this thing is! & the graphics & stuff probably are cheesy & suck!! Why did you buy this piece of junk when you already got a PS2 & N64 & GameCube!? you could have bought a game for one of those instead! & i said because Super-Nintendo is awesome there wouldn't be any N64 or any of those other ones without Super-Nintendo & i said here it's hooked up let's play it!! & out of the 3 or 4 game's with it got this WWF Wrestlemania Game was the first i popped in & i turned the SNES on! & my friend was skeptical making fun of the startup screens & stuff but by 15 minutes into playing he was hooked & he wouldn't let me turn the system off even when my Mom called & said i had to go back home! & he was all like can i borrow everything till tomorrow please!? & i was like WHY i thought Super-Nintendo & ALL the old games Sucked & are Cheesy! & he was like ok ok BUT i changed my mind! & i just laughed & said i couldn't let him borrow it that day because i had to bring it back home first to show my parents what i spent my money on!! & that i would let him borrow it tomorrow after school! or whatever! & he was like awww ok! Lolz!! Good Timez!!!...
1. This is a fighting game, not even a wrestling game 2. They're all objectively far better now after nearly 30 entire years of technology and gameplay evolution.
@@kalabash4952 Before Pit Fighter it was Narc... Remember? But the digitized characters on MK 2 (1993), were solid, and paved the way for the level of work done on Wrestlemania, which came out in 1995.
@@johndevitt5619 yeah also a few more from the golden era that would've been great for that time but not hulk hogan seeing his departure was more or less inevitable and wasn't as big of a factor. Would be less mirror matches at least
It would be nice to see this as an Arcade Archives release, but this would have to modified to have WWF replaced with WWE, and Hamster would have to deal with Netherrealm Studios to get this released. And not to mention Arcade Archives is mostly for Japanese games, I just wished Hamster actually does American/Western arcade ports for once
