i LITERALLY said 'i miss plumbella when is she coming back' as i searched for their channel and found out they posted this 1 minute ago. love my power of manifestation
That’s not manifestation (not saying that condescendingly at all) you may honestly just have insane good intuition for people you care about :) not parasocial but since you miss her maybe you picked up on her energy.
The tarot cards contain a lot of references to The Sims Medieval! The guy you didn't know who was on The Chariot is Demetrius Landgraab, ancestor of the Landgraabs. Him and his son appear in the Pirates and Nobles expansion. I also think The Emperor might be a reference to that pack as well, not Cats & Dogs, but I might be wrong. Justice is the executioner, The Fool is a jester, and The Magician is wearing an outfit and hairstyle you can unlock in Medieval. Also the fireplace in The Tower is in Medieval. There might be more I didn't catch, I just thought it was really cool and interesting!
Honestly shocked that you of all people have this take, I thought it would be right up your alley! If I ever did see someone blinded by grief. It’s a buy on sale for me, but definitely a pack I’ve needed them to make for a long time, as a generational player. Been praying for graveyards and proper tombs for years.
i get that this pack has a lot of stuff other packs also had but for me ,as someone who doesn’t buy all the packs that come out, this is exciting. id much rather buy this ep instead of buying idk romantic garden for that wishing well. however i do see how repetitive it would feel if you already have all of the packs.
@@suedaa31 it also kinda reminds me of how things worked in ts3. If im not wrong there were multiple different ways to get things across different packs - like foosball tables you could get in university or generations or smth? I forget. But i like the idea of packs sharing things because it means we aren’t limited, if you want the specific well you can get romantic garden stuff or you can get it as an added bonus in this pack. Too many times have packs been limited because one feature is another pack’s feature and its nice getting some connection so that you can get bikes that arent university exclusive, etc.
@@robynbrown1154 yes exactly. for example i really liked that we could get the changing table and the playmat with the new kit because growing together wouldnt be a top pack to buy for me. so i really dont mind it if theyre giving us good content honestly. but i get that if you’re someone who has everything it gets repetitive. im glad they gave us a similar well tho i think that well was the only good part of romantic garden hahah
As someone with all but the Star Wars pack, I highly disagree with Plumbella about the repetition of objects. I want the pack for the world and gameplay first and foremost. I like more options for objects and it’s not like this pack is like anything the sims has so far
36:03 don't know if you're being ironic or not, but, this is Guild Lord Demetrius Landegraab from The Sims Medieval Pirates and Nobles Edit: just to note 'cause I think it's funny, they certainly changed The Devil tarot card to The Evil 😂 and all these cards have references to The Sims Medieval, I love that
@@Plumbella play Medieval again girly I’d love to see you do a play through! (I know the old save is lost but it’s been long enough now you could start a new one) 💜
More like Chappell MOAN sheeeesh. Ya so ICONIC QUEEN. EDIT: Jess dressing as Chappell Roan is true manifestation bc Fulov + Edward are giving “Good Luck, Babe!”
yay more plumbella! i love jeese's look today. this pack is so extremely up my alley, im super excited for all the early access content then playing myself! im working halloween dressed as spiderpunk but as soon as im off it's spooky sims time
31:22 i would like to think that, since sims 4 is on a different timeline, this is an alternate universe where olive really takes care of nervous and nervous doesn’t accept to be a subject for money and lives happily ever after as nyon thus never becoming nervous subject
I have been DESPERATE to hear you talk about this pack! NERVOUS SUBJECT AND OLIVE ARE BACK, BABE!! But...wild to me to hear you say you were kinda underwhelmed?? It adds SO much to the game. And I mean, I'm kinda surprised that YOU were surprised to find out there will be no Sims 5. If there were gonna be a Sims 5, they'd have done it YEARS AGO now - people have been huffing hopium for a TS5 for years now, and it's like...what made you think they were just waiting 10+ years to make another entry? They just confirmed what most of us already knew - no new entries. Only pumping TS4 until it's a dead and rotted horse corpse. And as a tarot girlie? They must have a tarot person on staff, because so many of these are so close to the real counterparts! I love the Strength one, ha! Strength depicts a woman and a lion, usually - the lion is the strength, this raw primal power...and the woman is the gentle, guiding hand of all that strength. Here, instead of standing over the lion, she's feeding him a gnome! HA. They said justice is from Sims Medieval, which cracks me up - but I LOVE the cowplant image! I would buy this deck in a heartbeat - they really nailed how intuitive tarot cards are, while still holding meaning in every little thing on the card. I love how all the hands reach, eager for what the cowplant offers...hungry for judgement, even if it should strike them down, they can't help themselves. Tarot info/insights below: (And yes, it says she saw these things on the cards flashing by on his tablet - the 'glowing book') Evil here is no doubt 'The Devil' in tarot, which isn't about being evil, per se - so much as it can be about being addicted to something, or someone. It depicts the devil, with the lovers from the lovers card chained and bound to him, usually. So it could be drugs, it could be a bad boyfriend or girlfriend, etc - but there is an outside force that has you in its thrall. You have to break your chains, and put you first. The advocate I love...I wondered if he was supposed to be the Magician/Hierophant? But that doesn't seem so...But he's about giving and receiving. The children are presenting him with gifts, as he readies to gift them in kind. (I bet the chariot is also referencing Sims Medieval.) I'm drawing a blank on the Advocate and which card they're riffing on, here...I'll have to look at one of my decks, lol. Emperor/Empress are often evocative of father/motherly energy, respectively. The Empress is also about motherhood, and fertility. It's often a white, blonde woman who is heavily pregnant, sitting on a throne...usually with wheat near her. Fertility of the land, and the home - so they nailed it with the Empress card for SURE. I LOVE that they evoked not just traditional tarot themes, but also sims lore in these...like the fruits nearby in this card representing the ones that can change the sex of your baby in the sims. And rabbits, since they're also a sign of fertility and luck...this card is loaded with lore and evocative images. The Tower card is basically the worst card in the deck - even Death is a peaceful card, and could mean the death of something more metaphorical. With the tower? Whatever is in question will come tumbling down...in a terribly painful way. It often depicts a skyline showing a medieval tower being hit by lightning and cracking in half, sometimes with people falling out of it even...so it is destruction as a force. But! Even the Tower can be good - sometimes you have to burn a forest to have healthier growth in the future! Sometimes, things must come tumbling down so we can start anew. The Sun is often almost exactly this card but reversed to face the other way - just a baby riding a white horse under a big sun. I love that they used almost the same imagery, but made it a plant baby! That makes it even more evocative of how important the sun is, here! This is always a nice card to get. I also really love their version of the Lovers! That's so sweet, and tragic - but in their own way, totally valid to the way tarot is read. This is a couple who has loved each other in life, and even on into the afterlife! This is a love that is built on solid foundations - an unshakeable bond. I also love that the moon card is basically exactly the moon card! But normally...those are just two wolves howling at the moon, so the werewolves work perfectly!! (I get why the suits are one card each...there would be a TON to animate otherwise, but what a fun tarot deck! I'd buy this IRL in a heartbeat.)
What are you talking about (no disrespect)? Most simmers were actually expecting a Sims 5, especially with all the other lifesim games that are about to come out. There are no deadlines when it comes to new entries to this franchise and, if something, reaching the 10 year mark made everyone expect even more that the new game would be announced.
But I want more swings and coffins and a new haunted house a lot trait. I want to. ADD all of these things to what I already have. I don’t want to make a bootleg cemetery with the stuff I already have. I want to use the stuff they specifically designed for cemeteries along with the stuff I already have and then upload that to the gallery and in a way that’s easier for other people to find.
Yeah, wild to me how stupid she sounded, for the first time in all the years I have watched her. Does she want me to use the bright, happy colored swingset in the spooky, macabre town?? Should I use only the coffins in Vampires, or would I maybe like more styles? It's like getting mad that someone got you a sweater, because you already own a t-shirt. "I already have a t-shirt, and that covers my torso perfectly! Why are you giving me another style of shirt? I already have one single shirt that works!" Like...the logic is entirely missing.
@christabelle__ yeah, I definitely don’t know if it was the best decision to start the video off like that. Those swings are some of the best swings we’ve ever gotten, and we could always use more rocking chairs. Sometimes more is better. For me personally, I would buy every single spooky lot trait or challenge they add to the game, even if they add dozens of them. 😂
Everyone still has the option to buy. I agree with her criticism that they (EA) gathered the same type of gameplay objects from other packs instead of adding new gameplay objects. I like different styles as well but would want to see new skill objects maybe considering how limited free time objects are and the price of an expansion pack. They could add a poetry skill and add a town poetry competition similar to debating in the uni pack if they want to recycle content. The new coffins and swings etc are just basically new skins for the exact same thing (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but a bit underwhelming). Or a mini skill like knitting but you’re making dream catchers and those objects could help you with the scared moodlet
I love so much about this video, the analysis, the costumes, but the best is Edward's one-sided beef with the Grim Reaper. He's treating Grim like he's a poser instead of an undead, eldritch being that guides souls to the underworld. Like, how dark can you get, sir?😂😂
i am beyond thrilled for the comeback of the mother, the matriarch plumbella herself for probably one of the most promising eps. love, abignervoussubjectfan
I’m only like 4 minutes in but you slayed the Chappell look!!!! Also genuinely thank you so much for the in-depth review, as someone who can’t afford every pack I really appreciate it
its crazy they named the town ravenwood when its been the base location in wizard101 for over an entire decade AND is the title of a wizard101 story game
Tbh I don’t believe the sims 5 is dead, it’s just not going to be project Rene or come out in the foreseeable future. Eventually the sims 4 will become even more outdated than it kinda is and I don’t see EA letting such a successful franchise die.
Yeah, everyone’s been shocked that Sims 5 was “cancelled” but honestly I think it’s just not been started or even planned yet. Renee was never Sims 5. 🤷🏼♀️
I mean I feel like that’s pretty certain, but because the sims 4 is their cash cow and we know ts5 hasn’t even started production, it’s probably so far into the future that it’s not even worth thinking about anymore. So it’s more like the dreams and hopes for sims 5 anytime soon are dead
Maybe, but by non occult do you include things like ghosts and rebirth as occult gameplay? Because it seems like it would limit the value of the bucket list. 🤷🏼♀️ Could still give some fun storytelling though.
This was so absolutely and utterly worth the time. You, my dear, are a gem among gems and really the only Simmer I 100% trust with all aspects of a review.
So excited for the pack and really happy to have a lore breakdown from you! Also, please can you add close caption? Really helpful regarding accessibility for a wide range of people
As someone whose neuron-crushing special interest involves tarot, a plague doctor whose familiar is a crow, AND an OC for it who is a mortician.... unfortunately this pack is FLIRTING with me.
We did not have holes in roofs that you can also use on the floor. Cemeteries we did have, but we couldn't go there and work there as a mortician. We had horror books, but not the Ghost Historian career. And the lore, the lore! This pack has twice the lore of other packs.
I don’t think the game having to much content is the problem with them reusing items and gameplay. It’s honestly just them being lazy again. Like they could have easily given us some more kids play ground equipment. A creepy carousel. Heaps of things that would have fit the spooky theme. It’s like they almost got there with thier creativity with this pack and then they just didn’t go all the way like I think they could of have.
haven't played sims 4 since last Christmas and now the perfect length video came out to watch while I play it for the first time again (games taken an hour so far to update though)
I wish they would have done all of the tarot cards. And made free printables of an entire deck. But only 26 is fine too I guess. As someone who is trying to learn tarot that would be cool to see full deck collection instead
