Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. I feel 100 years older. I remember him when I was a kid. What a great pitcher and quality person. I can't believe he is gone. And this is coming from a Yankees fan.

I'm a Reds fan and was listening that night in 1978 when he threw the no-hitter against St. Louis. He really was 'Tom Terrific' and one of MLB's greatest players ever. RIP and thanks for the thrills!

I kind of remember the sports media labeling Seaver as "the Golden Boy" and a "can't miss prospect" while he was still pitching at USC. With all this popularity and attention bestowed upon him, He seemed to be humble and a nice guy. I'm glad he had a successful baseball career.

Man, this one hurts. Tom was as great off the field as he was off it. That's why he will always be my favorite athlete. Condolences to Nancy, his daughters, and my fellow Mets fans. RIP, Tom Terrific.

My favorite player of all time, my neice who is a Phillies fan sent me a text of the news, my heart was broken and i had tears in my eyes. R.I.P. #41 Tom Seaver you gave the Mets fans many great years on the field pitching. I loved to watch you pitch, you will be missed ! The baseball world lost a great man today !
