Possibly one of the wettest Rallies i've ever attended! Heavy rain in the days leading up to the event left the stages in a swamp like state, this resulted in plenty of thrills and spills as the crews struggled their way through the treacherous terrain of Gale Rigg!

Cheers! He came into there far too hot and far too sideways! I'm just pleased I had the trees infront of me for protection! Nothing like a good mud bath eh! 🤣

First time watching one of your videos... I'll be watching again. Love the scene setting with the shots at the start. Multiple vantage points and angles on stage. And you show a lot more variety of the cars entered. Great work.

Thanks for the kind words, it really means a lot! Part of what I love about Rally is the places it takes you and the adventure you go on walking to/through the stage. I always try to add a few scene setting clips to establish where we are, I'm glad you enjoyed them too!

Is the Gale Rigg stage on the riponian very similar to the Malton Forest Rally version or is there a big difference in terms of spectator areas/the route used?

Usually very similar tbh. This year had a few big changes so I decided to go there and get an angle of the event that wasn't Wass Moor 😅

@MWRaceRally Yeah unfortunately we aimed for gale rigg at malton forest last year but missed 90% of it due to a blocked road so haven't been able to explore it properly yet. Definitely fancy a change from Wass Moor tho having been there the past 3 years.

@@FTPMotorsport I'd actually say that out of the Malton/Riponian that Gale Rigg is my favourite, it just has a lot of undulating flowing corners which look really nice on video. I'd done either Cropton or Wass for the last 3 years so just wanted a different view, it was quite nice that they'd made some big changes to Gale Rigg's route too. You probably did right going to Wass this year though, it's where the thrills and spills occured by the looks of things and looking at RU-vid views that's what people ultimately wanted from the event.

@MWRaceRally Yeah it definitely looks great from the footage I've seen from yourself and RacingJosh on Instagram and from looking at previous events footage. Didn't see any big incidents myself as per usual I'm always in the wrong (right) areas when they happen. Throwing a "Crashes" in the title does seem a cheat code to more views, I guess it appeals to a wider audience than some great high speed driving 🤷‍♂️

@@FTPMotorsport to be honest I choose filming locations based on how good they look and not on the likelihood of an incident happening there. I want my channel to be about beautiful cars, amazing sounds and skillful driving. I'm not really all that interested in the crashes. I guess ultimately having that approach is probably at the detriment to gaining extra views and subscribers but oh well 🤷
